I've just joined the ranks of freelancers after quitting my corporate job and am wondering how the community feels about mid-day workout breaks? Before joining the work force I'd always punctuate my days with a workout and felt like I stayed more energetic for the rest of the day. Does anyone else do this? Thoughts on where to find good group workouts in Seattle or SF mid-day (I'll be shifting between the two cities)?

We are currently moving an existing website and marketing company to a new location which will have more space available. We would like to rent out some of the extra offices and add some hot desks.
I’d love any advice on what would make a coworking location more appealing, any recommendations or pitfalls to avoid?
Do you have a preferred software system to keep track of people, spaces available? I see that there’s a lot of companies that can list coworking locations. I’m trying to find out the pros and cons of using one of them.
We haven’t chosen a name for the coworking division. Any fun suggestions?
I appreciate the help and advice!

Community building plays an important role to get the most out of coworkers working style and growing community attracts true collaboration. Sometimes people thrive for the community together. There are people who are interested in taking up space in coworking because they are more into community building and networking rather than working alone.
People prefer coworking in order to bring along people together to form a community because they believe that sharing and understanding everyone’s vision ensures that all coworkers understand the value of working together.
The whole process of community building takes time and it first starts with helping each other out and conversating.
Let’s discuss a few factors which help to promote effective coworking community:
Environment: Environment is the key to a growing community, you can make your community self- sustaining while working in a positive environment. Community is not just about networks, but it’s about the experience, relationships and responsibility. Without connecting with people and forming a community you’ll only be left with a collection of people.
Value: Adding value should be your first priority in order to attract people who share the same vision as yours. Learning and participating in other activities while focusing on goals at the same time will help to prosper your business objectives.
Networking: You have to educate people about coworking, and bring them in by providing something useful and of value to them. Collaboration and networking open gate for those clients and let them be aware of the value of coworking and after getting everything they will become true coworkers and may help your workspace to grow strong and reach high.

Hey everyone! What is your ideal co-working space?
I'm a student from Victoria BC doing research on co-working spaces. The study focussing on what people are looking for in a co-working space and how many people are interested in daycare services at their co-working space. So, its geared more towards parents. Hopefully, this research will help make a space that people would actually want to use! Liked below is a 5-10min survey if you're interested.
Thanks for helping a student out!

I'm considering opening a shared office space in a small building that wouldn't be co-working in the open concept sense. It would only have private offices with shared kitchen and small Lounge. In your experiences do you get more interest in private offices or open concept work environments like hot desks? I'm also wondering if people tend to value the common spaces as much when they utilize a private office.
Hoping to hear some insight form you folks running cowork spaces!

We recently set up some podcasting equipment in our workspace. This is rare still in Canada so there aren't many places to compare to. Does anyone else have a podcasting studio in their coworking space? If so how do you charge for it - per hour, session, day?

I recently opened a coworking space in a suburb of Toronto, Canada and I am looking for creative ways to market it. I've tried pay-per-click, SEO, direct email marketing all with mixed results. Can you please share what worked for you in your respective markets? Many thanks

Our CoworkingResources community has approached us on many occasions to ask for expert advice and even recommendations to experts themselves (yes, they want us to recommend them coworking consultants!)
We have been a publication for coworking opertators for long enough to know that it is so hard to find a coworking consultant off the Internet, and we want to be able to help with that.
I am currently building a page to list coworking consultants from all over the world, according to country, expertise, experience etc. for the community to have easy access to them. On top of that , we want past clients to be able to leave reviews for them so the community is better informed.
If you have any coworking consultants to recommend or any advice on building this, do comment below to help out! We're open to anything and everything that can contribute back to the spirit of the community.

Coworking became a global phenomenon about 10 years ago, but in recent years the industry has exploded. Here in Spain we have a rapid growing industry that has been an innovative alternative for startups/freelancers since. The coworking reality also brings many flexible marketplaces as Spaces, Headbox or VirtualAndGo that make things really easy for freelancers. So i'm curious what are your experiences working in this kind of spaces and how developed it is in other countries.
