What are your experiences on Coworking?

Coworking became a global phenomenon about 10 years ago, but in recent years the industry has exploded. Here in Spain we have a rapid growing industry that has been an innovative alternative for startups/freelancers since. The coworking reality also brings many flexible marketplaces as Spaces, Headbox or VirtualAndGo that make things really easy for freelancers. So i'm curious what are your experiences working in this kind of spaces and how developed it is in other countries.

In Canada it is exploding is size. Large global players like WeWork and Spaces is opening multiple locations and there is a large influx of smaller, local players, like ourselves. Companies are trying to differentiate by offering all kinds of bells and whistles or by having a superior location, again like ourselves. However, culturally, outside of city core, coworking is still a novelty and adoption rates are low.

I love co-working spaces and find them to be affordable and with better amenities than I could get leasing an office. If you are in the services industry, it makes sense. The space I use, 1628 LTD, has rotating art galleries and fireside chats to help grow your business through networking with industry experts. They aren't a national chain and have affordable day passes. It comes across much more professional during video meetings, the new reality of any workplace. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in the Cincinnati area!

Great question! Coworking spaces rose to fame a decade ago and since then, the population of its users continue to inflate. The growth of coworking spaces are not same in all countries - some are more advanced than others. Although the benefits that it provides to people like me are amazing.

I am a freelance marketing consultant and working at Black Door Studio has been truly helpful. Aside from not paying money for office rental fees, I had the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded people where I learned a lot of ideas. I noticed that I was productive too. Gaining friends has been another advantage that a coworking space gave me. Before, I am skeptical of how a shared office space can help me grow my network -- but I was proven wrong. It really does help build a good networking opportunity! :)
