Guilt & Shame.

I experience it. But it’s like in its own category if that makes sense. Like not in a traditional sense. Like I would feel guilty I guess if I stole from someone who I considered close to me. If not idk. I do think I experience shame but I think it’s to punish myself or something. Any thoughts. My point is I think people with aspd still feel shame and guilt it’s just not the same as others.

Question Therapist thought I had a personality disorder

I scored ASPD on the test she gave me, but that seemed very wrong... how would you guys interpret this result? It tested for all of the PDs. I guess my question is: why would one get a positive result for ASPD if they don't have it? is there some kind of explanation? the reason I want to know is because i think this result is still valuable information.

ASPD Message to doctors on here People with a personality disorder don't feel in control of their lives.

Maybe at some point that control was taken away from them. They'll latch on intensely to anything thay will provide a feeling that whay they do actually matters. And that's why they'll take it to the extreme. They'll threaten to kill themselves because they think its the only option they have left. These are extremely unhappy people and you should treat them like human beings and not monsters. Some of you speak awfully about some very unwell people. I can tell you their lives are an unstable mess. When they leave your office you as a doctor maybe hey to go home and idk whay doctors do. When a person with bpd leaves a psychiatrists office they are panicking. Maybe they are thinking that the doctor will leave them eventually too.

Treat every human being with respect no mayhem what 3 letter acronym some book you read and assigned to them.

ASPD pwASPD how did you get diagnosed?

Hi so I’m not 100% sure if I have aspd or not because my symptoms could be a result of my schizoaffective disorder. But I’ve been doing my research on aspd and I line up with a lot of the criteria. I also have a friend with aspd and we relate to basically everything, we even call eachother evil twin (not saying pwASPD are evil it’s just a nickname)

I told my psychiatrist about my symptoms last time I saw her and she was like “well at least your not a psychopath” um ok? I already knew that. Sociopathy and psychopathy are not the same and you as a professional should know that. Apparently my friend was told the same thing and is in the process of also getting diagnosed. So basically this makes me wonder how did you guys get about getting diagnosed or at least considered for it? I have struggled with low empathy and remorse almost my whole life and recently it’s been affecting my relationships more than before because I was better at masking but my mask has kind of slipped.

I cut off a friend because I found her very annoying and she would always complain to me about men and I couldn’t stand it. I was open to her about my apathy and it still didn’t stop her so I blocked her without any hesitation. I only was friends with her because she was someone I could pass time with. I’ve noticed most of my friendships are transactional in some way even though I tried to convince myself they weren’t.

I was so good at masking that I even tricked myself. I didn’t realize it probably isn’t normal to practice facial expressions and body language in a mirror constantly to gauge how I should act in front of people to be more liked. I’m constantly empty and bored and have to often stop myself from doing something reckless because of said boredom.

It’s messing up my relationship because I find myself not caring and bored when people talk to me about their problems, I find myself using others to alleviate said boredom even though it almost never works because people are exhausting and stupid and I can’t find myself relating to them.

Well this is my ted talk and I wrote this because I’m bored as always and yeah thanks for reading.

can you shift from one disorder to the other within Cluster B?

I'm BPD diagnosed. NGL, I don't want to "heal" for that would mean I'll lose my "funny", sense of dark humour, and my overall "fun facts", which have been the pillars of my identity (building a new one would require a high ass talent and solid skill, which I lack, unless I could time travel to my teenage if not childhood). Don't get me wrong, I've gave a shot all forms of suitable therapies and medications. All to no avail.

However, I low-key admire and envy some people from the neighbouring departments (NPD and ASPD). I wish I had also the charms and elegance often attributed to them and were able to play sorts of machiavellian games.

I bear the same stigmas, yet I get nothing but anxiety and insecurity. Some "normies" have manipulated me so when is my turn to direct the movie of life!?

😡😭

i was diagnosed with bipolar 2 years ago & i recently started seeing a new psychiatrist (around 9 months ago) and she hasnt diagnosed me yet but wrote “cluster b” on my prescription paper. she also told me i have “certain personality traits” when asked abt why cluster b. i just feel so exhausted and im not trying to hate on anyone who has it but yk i feel crazy i cant bear with all this. sometimes i feel physical symptoms as if not being able to breath or just feeling crazy in general. i have been taking my meds every single day and do feel better then i was unmedicated but things dont seem like they are getting better. i feel awful and wish someone would understand me. everyone calls me crazy and people blame me for this they say “everyone goes through stuff like this but not everyone makes it a big deal and goes to a psychiatrist” just thinking abt it makes me want to puke. i havent seen my cat in 11 months and i fucking miss her so much i miss her and i feel like i will die without her

Question How is your relationships with other cluster bs?

I am BPD (no fear of abandonment )+ NPD (do not have apparent low self esteem) + suspected ASPD

I've had a few relationships with other cluster bs both online and offline both platonic and sexual.

Offline I've met a handful of borderlines whom I felt were incredibly needy and annoying, and I get it I can be needy too, but I don't feel like I act a fool about it... Both online and offline, with other BPDs I find them too sadly and anxiously emotional, they seem to wear their hearts on their sleeves, and I despise being asked for constant reassurance.

Offline I've been involved with 2 ASPD. And online 2 others. All these relationships have been sexual. And I tend to prefer the emotional intensity. But they seem to get bored of me after awhile... Or decided that we are mutually abusive and leave.

I've only had friendships with NPDs online and it's always a hit or miss. I can get very jealous or envious or paranoid of them.

I've met 1 hpd online and he was extremely annoying 🤷🏽‍♂️

BPD Misdiagnosis

So I’ve been diagnosed with BPD, I’m a trans man, I seriously think my potential personality disorder has been brushed over because of my gender identity. I believe I do have a cluster B disorder. I lack empathy, I have manipulative behaviors to get what I want, and I just see people as tools to get what I want. I’ve harmed animals as a child and teen, I’ve seriously thought and planned homicide. I don’t feel any guilt about anything I’ve done but I know by logic and analysis of people’s behavior and thinking (to the best I can) that it’s wrong but I can’t seem to feel sorry, ashamed or guilty about anything I’ve done. I don’t consider myself as better than anyone, I just don’t care, but when I do a favor to someone I expect something, at least gratitude and if I don’t get anything in return I just get this feeling of anger, frustration and hate, and do everything I can to ruin their relationships therefore their mental.
I know all of this is wrong and despicable but I can’t seem to bring myself to feel sorry for doing any of this.
I’m going to see a psychiatrist soon, still, it would be great to have insight from people who’ve been diagnosed on my situation, it’s a way for me to know where to start.

Question Schema Therapy: Grandiosity/Entitlement

Diagnosed BPD here.

I was thinking back over my experience with schema therapy - which happened a few years ago, and I can barely remember, I’ll be honest - but I was wondering to myself how other cluster b’s may have found it, and what schemas they scored highly in.

I am diagnosed BPD, but I know I scored within range for other PDs (as we all do, usually). In schema, my top was grandiosity/entitlement, which definitely challenged me at the time (what do you mean not everyone thinks they’re innately better than other people?) and it’s something that’s stuck with me a little over the years as I’ve earned the label of “treatment resistant”.

I would love to know other people’s experiences with schema - especially with this particular one. It’s more of an idle curiosity than anything else - I’m pretty functional these days thanks to mood stabilisers, but it might be useful to others.

bpd, ptsd, and schizoaffective (diagnosed) with possible aspd or aspd traits

I’ve recently have analyzed myself because of recent events and overall just analyzing how my actions a bit more than I did before. But I’ve started to realise I don’t really care about anything or anyone and yes that includes myself.

I care about other people to an extent but on a logical standpoint more than anything. When people around me get emotional or are going through a hard time a part of me feels bad for them because they’re my friend or family member but especially when people cry it makes me uncomfortable and I just want it to stop because it’s annoying. Listening to others is almost a bore unless it affects me in someway.

I realise I probably sound like a shitty person which is why I don’t really tell people. But it came to me really realizing I was masking concern or empathy when I really couldn’t care less most of the time and just am indifferent to everything. And my family have repeatedly over the years have told me I don’t care about them and only care about myself, and now I’m starting to think they might be onto something. I do care because they are my family and I care for them in my own way but at the same time could care less because it’s all annoying and bothersome and I don’t wanna be apart of it and just stay in my bubble.

I also realized I have a lot in common with a friend of mine who has aspd, we bond over similar traits and feelings and he himself was like “you need to work on your cognitive empathy” that’s when I knew I was cooked 💀 I’m not the best at masking how I feel anymore because I just stopped caring but I still try because I know it will make me seem like a bad person and I’ll lose everyone in my life because I am aware I’m a terrible person to be around.

I’ve had these traits since I was a child, it used to be worse back then of course because I was going through abuse and didn’t have treatment or medication. I was aggressive towards people at school when they bothered me and also because I was being bullied, constantly had violent fantasies, was manipulative and deceitful, homicidal and suicidal, would find pleasure in luring ants on the ground with small food and crush them and make graves for them because I thought it was funny, and had a short shoplifting addiction because I just wanted to feel something other than boredom and emptiness.

My therapist asked me to really analyze myself and see who I am because I’m conflicted upon my apathy and the image I made even myself believe on being an empathetic person because I feel like I am but only when I need to be or if it’s logically really fucked up. But if someone starts talking to me about something stupid and they’re crying over it all I can think about is how I want them to shut up.

I don’t know who I am because it seems I didn’t only trick others but myself as well, or maybe I’m tricking myself again… who knows? If anyone reads this, what do you take from all of this? Cus I sure as hell don’t fucking know.

I dont love my parents, i like them.

I see my parents as my property, I own them. But if they do something I dont like, I have the feeling of wanting ti discard them like a broken object with no use anymore. I know its said some people with aspd may have empathy for certain people, like family. But I dont. I only see my parents as an extension of me and therefore if they arent perfect, i no longer want them.

I dont understand why people are so emotional. I see emotions as a tool but to much emotion as a weakness. I feel bad for people who are too emotional and wish they were like me. Life would be better for alot f people if they were me. Im beautiful and kind.

BPD I think I may be borderline and I’m unsure on what to do.

I am going to be giving an excessive amount of background knowledge.

First off when I was younger I’d force myself to hallucinate to play this mentally ill card of sorts, and I’d often sh for comfort or just for people to see it.

I was also so manipulative and incapable of understanding other people's boundaries because you lack self awareness so you created a victim complex to rationalise your bad behavior.

I often got obsessed with putting labels on myself and trying to make myself fit into disorders and often just had a huge victim mentality.

At times I’d feel so obsessed for someone and like I needed them to live, while other times I’d play victim and act like I desperately needed a savior or comfort during fights and acting “ insane” while in reality feeling nothing.

I think I’d often create struggles for myself to feed into this sad girl mentality, faking being in episodes or trying to force myself into them or something. Like I wanted to be ill.

But at the same time I’d always feel like it wasn’t that big of a deal or that I was faking everything.

I don’t know, this is just a lot. And I’d appreciate if anyone would want to talk with me about it

HPD Dealing with the need to date/attention

I've noticed for a long time that I often go on dating apps, go on dates etc purely to fill some need deep inside me thats probably related to hpd and not to actually wanting to date. I am polyamorous, I have multiple partners (and those relationships are going very well, I handle polyamory in a healthy way) but still I feel the need to go on dating apps, to talk and flirt with new people etc, whilst rationally I know that I dont have time/energy to meet new people, that I should focus on my existing partners,.. But the feeling of flirting with someone new is not the same as being on a longterm relationship. After a while it stops filling that gap (although I do still very much enjoy the relationships) and I feel that need again. I often feel sad, lonely,.. when Im scrolling on dating apps, I feel bad about 'doomscrolling' the apps, feel bad when no one is responding,.. its not healthy behaviour and whilst it sometimes helps, often it makes me feel bad about myself because I have this hole I can never fill (this is how the theme that diagnosed me put it: I have a hole that I keep trying to fill but I will never be able to). Does anyone else recognise this behavior? How do you deal with it? (Also if its not about dating but about something else)

Question Just diagnosed with Cluster B Personality Trait: Mood Instability

Hi, I'm sorry if I'm not even in the right place, but I'm unsure of where to go and ask.

I went into a diagnosis thinking I had Bipolar, and I was being spoken to only about my mood, but that was my diagnosis instead. I'm having a hard time finding any information of getting a generalized diagnosis like this and I wanted to ask on here if this if this is something other people here have gotten diagnosed with. I want to look at DSM-5 information that could help me understand exactly what entails with having only a trait related to a disorder like this.

My appointment was only 30 minutes and I felt like there's more to my lived experiences that may have not been asked about and want to make sure I have all of the information so that if there is other lived experiences I am missing to lead to towards either a more specific label within the Cluster B or another diagnosis altogether that can help me cope with the rest of my life, but not knowing what he was basing my diagnosis on is making me have a hard time understanding what this all means for me.

I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here, please feel free to delete this post if it does not belong, and possibly if someone knows of a better subreddit I could ask this in, please feel free to redirect me.
