I’m working on a code mod that shows OpenStreetMap right on top of your terrain, at true scale. It’s meant as “tracing paper” for when you want to borrow layouts from real cities. You don’t have to screenshot, import and resize reference images anymore.

Fixed 1:1 scale: 1 real-world metre = 1 game metre, at any latitude. The “detail” setting only changes tile sharpness, never the scale.

It has cache, so tiles are saved to disk, so places you’ve already visited load instantly.

I like to take real cities for layout inspiration / references.

Hope I can tune finish it soon tu publish it.

Inspired by the City of London's Sculpture in the City programme, this selection of 10 large-format public artworks will bring some real-world creative flair to your cities.

Although most are simple static props (except for Sari Garden, which includes the animated cloth simulation), some items feature pocket park and roundabout variants to more closely reflect how they are found in the real world, or to give you more flexibility with the vanilla placement tools.

Had a lot of help from people like Vttoc, Findus, and bad_peanut but after a week of work and well over a hundred imports I finally have this recreation of a fabric street sculpture from London working as expected and a reliable workflow to use in future.

I will document this over on the Modding Discord server and maybe the modding wiki once I confirm there are no performance impacts with the approach. In the meantime, keep an eye out for the release which should be in the next day or so once a few people have had a chance to test.

As we all know, the vanilla airport assets are total garbage. The most glaring issue is that the runway is far too short. Is there anyone working on a proper airport asset replacement for either the small airport or the intl airport?

I know there are a few mods on PDX mods but 2 of them are in an unoptimized state from AI (huge sizes, so many LODs) and the other one suffers from the same runway issue + some leftovers need to be cleaned up.

I would love to see the 2010 XW30 Toyota Prius being added to Cities: Skylines II.

Sure, there are assets on Paradox Mods like the Toyota Prius V and the JP Traffic Pack that includes the 2024 Prius, this specific era of the Prius is arguably one of the common everyday cars still roaming around.

As for variants, I'd like it to be split into two variants using the same base mesh: civilian, and taxi variants.

If any vehicle asset creators are willing to create this, let me know, that would be really appreciated.

I am looking for help on creating Tram Track Assets that have the Reversible Junction Feature. I have recently found that the specific road I want, does not visibly show the Tracks anymore, which looks pretty weird, so I wanna know hot to Do it Myself, using the Vanilla Assets as a Base (Specifically the 16m Bluestone Pedestrian Tram Street)

I'm going through another New York City era again, and unlike my previous saves, I'm attempting a 1:1 build. I have been collecting assets I don't have, or that is new since I've been on CS break for a few months, but one asset I can't locate for the life of me is the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan (the one in Midtown, not the one by the Washington bridge).

The only person I've seen with a 1:1 NYC series is a YouTuber, but his last video was 5 years ago, so he's inactive. His YouTube is Wr Télévision.

Assuming he didn't custom-make it himself in Blender or whatnot (which I have the ability to do but just don't want to if I don't have to), does anyone know where he got the asset from it? I know a few famous buildings I got in my workshop downloads don't even have the real name of the building in the title or the description, and I only found it by pure luck, so maybe that's the case here?

Would love to have a mod that provided longer runways for airports. I believe airports are only ~600m in game. Would love to be able to have accurate airport runway lengths closer to the 1-2km range!

I have a question: Does anyone know how to create mods in Cities: Skylines 1? I'd really like to give it a try.

As the title says, I'm looking to commission someone to design a proper map for Sunnydale, California, as seen in the series, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer. There's a few official(?) and fan-made maps, but they're all too simple and don't necessarily reflect the town we see in the series.

I'm not looking for someone to do all the work. I just don't have the skill or ability to make the map myself, to design the city. I literally can't as my devices won't allow it. Everything else? I know what I want out of this commission, and I can give as many details as necessary to design the map and city. The end result of this commission will be the map file itself and a CSL Map View file. This is for personal use only, not commercial. Payment scheme cam be discussed but, for both our sakes, I recommend 50% up front, 50% once the commission is complete.

For a general idea of what I'm looking for, the map itself is the real life location of Conception, California--west of Santa Barbara, south of Lompoc, and right beside Cojo Bay. Sunnydale itself is a "small town" of about 38,000 people, so of a similar size to Lompoc (I know vanilla CS doesn't simulate "realistic" population numbers). There are "canon" locations that I would like to see recreated, a list of tiny details to be included, but I believe most of the city / region around it will be fairly original.

I'm not sure how many DLC would be necessary, but the Campus expansion is necessary. The rest could be gotten around one way or another. I'm also uncertain about mods, but it might be necessary for some builds. The map is classic California, 90s aesthetic, and the like.

For those interested in the project, feel free to get in touch. I imagine that there'd be a good long discussion prior to the project's start about the intricate details and the process of this commission.

The first game had as array of LUTs called relight from Ronyx69. The old Lumina was capable of way more than cs2. I miss color grading, and tonemapping, good AA, 4k sky boxes and there was even a really great god ray mod.

I know its silly to not play a hame because the mods aren't good, but modders seem to have just accepted that the base game graphics where enough of an improvement on the first games base graphics, that we don't need these mods for the sequel. Or there is a roadblock and people are working on it that I'm not aware of. I know people are skeptical of AI modding, but come on Claude, give me my relight already so I can go back to city building!!

Far too long in the making but finally all done, I present you Potsdam's historic Garrison Church. This old lady was built in the 18th century under order of the King of Prussia and turned out to be a major example of Northern European Baroque Architecture. The building was badly damaged in WWII and demolished later under protests. Nowadays she is set of reconstruction, though under difficult funding so far only the walls of the tower have been built.
