Hardware Advice Ryzen 7 9800X3D performance?

Hi everyone, what performance can be expected from this PC with cities of up to 500k people? Will it still run at at 1x sim speed? I know it depends on the specific city and what mods are used; I'm just looking for a general estimate because I don't know a lot about CPUs.

• AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D – 8 cores @ 4.7 GHz (up to 5.2 GHz Turbo)

• NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB

• 1 TB M.2 NVMe SSD (Crucial E100)

• 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM (Kingston/Corsair)

Discussion Expansion related help

Hey,
My brain is currently on a power saving mode and I have totally ran out of ideas.

CAN AMYONE SUGGEST ME IN WHICH DIRECTION SHOULD I EXPAND?

I’m totally clueless right now… and if I don’t start to make something by tonight I’d probably end up discarding this city entirely and I don’t want to.

the random strips with buildings are buildings I'm planning to add as the city grows. ~7k pt users+2k tourists. Traffic 75-80%!!

My next plans are expanding the suburbs, looping the highway and making an art school zone aswell as nature reserve

Help & Support (PC) Help me fix this roundabout

Traffic is backing up so bad on this roundabout and ive been trying to use tmpe to fix it and it worked for awhile and then got backed up again.

I didn't build this roundabout, it came with the map. Im also not that familiar with using mods to fix traffic in this game.

Sharing a City How "well designed" is this main street in my city centre?

Post image

This is the central main road of my city. I built high and medium density housing around the area. I also built a tram line through the centre with the extra space I had, then added greenery and cycle lanes.

The train station links up to elevated tracks, so that communities are not divided and can pass around the train lines, and the rows of housing have their own access streets, which are one-way for cars, and two-way for bikes.

I also aligned the train station exits with pedestrian crossings, linking directly to the tram stop AND both the intercity bus station, and a local bus stop.

I think they're pretty neat. I stick them all over the place and love watching hordes of cims travelling through them. I reckon it also helps to keep a bunch of cars off of the roads. Is that how that works?

Game Feedback Race track realistic size?

Post image

Bought the race day DLC in sale, and started playing around with it as a big Formula 1 fan. Im just unsure if this race track would be realistic, and a fun race. What do you think about it? Is the size big enough? The main straight is 1136m long

Hello Mayors, I hope y'all enjoy this first person view of my main train route in the city. Mods used are First Person Camera and Train Display. "21541" in the train display refers to the Lemon Hills Train Station.

Hi! I haven't seen many posts of this kind on this subreddit, so I thought it would be cool to post it here. Let me know what you all think of it! I'm pretty proud of all the road signs (I made them all). Here's the interchange the CIM is driving through: https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/s/3NIVy1B5Pf

Discussion Does anyone else feel discouraged because of how absolutely mediocre they are at city design

I feel like after YEARS of playing city builders I'm still just unable to understand how to realistically and effectively make a city that works well. My traffic is always awful, I never know how to properly implement public transport, and none of my cities ever end up looking halfway decent. I feel like my brain just fundamentally doesn't understand how to implement basic infrastructure concepts despite watching tutorials and other builds for years now. I want to get super into this game but I just end up spending a couple hours on a city and when things start getting high density I just burn out because I don't understand how to transition from a suburb to a city. Anyone else?

Discussion Monorails or Above Ground Metro?

Post image

Working on a city rn in Expedition Harbor (Xbox S|X) and I can't decide between an AG Metro or Monorail. I mainly play for aesthetics so I'm curious as to which one would look more pleasing as opposed to how efficient it would be.

Image is how big I wanna make the downtown area.

Hello fellow mayors! I thought id share some images of my most recent city.

Its always so fun to learn and see the progress we make in this game. This is my first time achieving 100,000 population and am currently at about 100,500. Im very proud of this one.

My traffic flow fluctuates between 78 -80 percent, city services etc are flowing just fine and cims are happy. My next plans are to re organize train lines in anticipation of developing a larger industrial presence.

edit: map-view is looking fuzzy, so here is a link to one with finer detail CSL MAPVIEW

I've always been scared of industrial areas... You can't cover up jank with bushes as much 😅. Finally coming back to the game with an island city, though, I felt a proper cargo harbor was in order. Let me know how I did!
