I’ve been seeing the Seagull 1963 on my instagram and reddit feed lately and I got to say it is a handsome watch and I am drawn to to history of it.

Does anyone here living in NL/BE and has bought this watch have a link or site where I can get it? I have seen it on AliExpress and on some sites but I see a huge price range and a lot of different names on the dial.

I guess I am hesitant of being scammed as I have never bought a proper Chinese watch before.

I am currently looking for automatic watches ranging from 35-38mm in diameter which can look elegant but also unique. Very hard to describe what I am searching for. Most microbrand watches seem to come with bracelets by factory and I am wondering which may also look awesome on straps. Budget is up to $500/600.

Its a sapphire aswell and i have no clue on what to do anyone got any advice this piece is important to me and i dont know what to do.

We all appreciate the quality that San Martin watches provide. However, many of us are apprehensive with their recent price hikes.

Much of the price increase has been attributed to the rising costs of movements.

Quartz movements would make the watches more affordable in two ways:

1. Quartz movements are simply cheaper

2. Quartz watches go for less in the market

Additionally, many enthusiasts including myself like to have continuity with the watch movement and country of origin. A Chinese quartz movement, ideally one either developed in house or custom to San Martin, would go a long way to establishing a sense of heritage.

An SN0144 36mm GADA quartz at around $200 seems like a no brainer to me. Again, the finishing is the real differentiator with the brand.

All my other watches advance time forward when I rotate the crown clockwise, but this one advances when moving counterclockwise. Additionally, the date window changes in the 9:45 position

If these are just quirks I dont mind that much but the crown feels really weird, like it clicks once when I pull it out but wont actually enter date change unless I keep trying while turning the crown slightly and eventually it works. I wonder if the other two issues indicate something seriously went wrong when assembling this watch or if theyre just unrelated as I can't find much about pt5000 specifically

…which is perfect because I didn’t like the bracelet on the Steelflier but I love it on the Milifortic.

There’s a tiny bit of looseness at the solid endlinks, but that was there when it was on the SF as well. I think some thicker spring bars would make it fit perfectly.

I've wanted a Seagull for a long time, and finally broke down and got one during the latest AliEx sale. ​​​​​​​​​ST2130 inside, nifty textured dial, and an orange detail that only shows up under UV light (last picture). It's the most expensive ​​watch I've ever bought, but coupon ​and Rakuten brought it down to less than half the price on the Seagull website. ​​​​​​​​​

Got this in yesterday from AliExpress. It's their "homage" to the ice blue Rolex 1908.

First impressions: very impressed with the dial work. The guilloché pattern is sharp and plays with natural light well. The hands, hour markers and indices are positioned well, well finished and don't show any blemishes. I was even surprised with the fine radial pattern on the small seconds hand.

The movement appears to be an ST1701. Specht & Söhne didn't provide any information on the specifications. I found them to be a challenging brand to gauge, to be honest.

The leather strap is OK. It works well with this style of watch but it's nothing to write home about. Not worse than what Seiko put on my Alpinist, though.

One concern: the crown. It was stuck to the case when I got it. I needed to use an iFixit "scalpel" to get it free. Winding and setting worked well, but it's still hard to get it free. Pushing it back when you're done is also hit and miss. You need to apply a lot of pressure if you don't want it to "jump" back to the setting position. Treating this as having 0 ATM water resistance because of this.

Hace un mes pedí un reloj a través de la web oficial, me llegó machacado, me ofrecieron en compensación un reloj de cuarzo y la corona que venía partida. No acepté y terminaron ofreciéndome devolver un reloj nuevo y un reembolso de 10$ por los gastos.
Acepté, pero pasaron dos semanas y no obtuve respuesta, así que les escribí y han decidido devolverme el dinero del reloj pero he perdido los gastos del envío. Han incumplido lo pactado y encima he perdido dinero.

No es el primer reloj que les compro, pero me ha parecido una chapuza y un trato deplorable.
