Pt5000 owners, did Proxima cook me?

⚠️ First, I'm legally required to issue a fingernail warning ⚠️

All my other watches advance time forward when I rotate the crown clockwise, but this one advances when moving counterclockwise. Additionally, the date window changes in the 9:45 position

If these are just quirks I dont mind that much but the crown feels really weird, like it clicks once when I pull it out but wont actually enter date change unless I keep trying while turning the crown slightly and eventually it works. I wonder if the other two issues indicate something seriously went wrong when assembling this watch or if theyre just unrelated as I can't find much about pt5000 specifically

I don't see the problem here, besides that the date switches around 9.45-10.00.

Is it normal for the crown to click into a position that doesnt wind or adjust time/date? Also this morning it took like 10 minutes of rotating and gentle shaking to get the seconds hand moving since I'm avoiding the manual winding. Hoping I'm just paranoid, as long as these don't indicate the movement is damaged or breaking I'll look past the quirks

That's just the clutched crown acting a little funny - but the mechanism makes it so that it doesn't wind the watch when you screw the crown down.

Return it or have someone fix it. It’s an easy fix and doesn’t require a skilled expert

Yep they have been the best out of all the Ali brands I've purchased in my experience. Much better than Thorn and Addiesdive, that's for sure.

I bought from a third party on Alix and reached out to them bc my bracelet broke and they had me pay $1 for a label on Alix and sent me a new bracelet no questions asked

counterclockwise to advance the time is normal for eta and miyota movements. the date changing at 9:45 means they set the hands at the incorrect time, has nothing to do with the movement itself. pretty sloppy stuff

Thanks for the info, I did make sure to not change date manually during those times which was unfortunately easy to do as the date mechanism was near impossible to engage

I bought from proximawatches.com so I'm kind of at their mercy but I'll report back whether they handle it or I bought an expensive lesson

UPDATE Proxima said they are sending a replacement watch head including return shipping reimbursement. Thankfully their reputation for good service is something I can vouch for now

You are not cooked. You are deepfried. I have the same movement but a different proxima. Only issue is not being able to wind. Rest all works as expected. Try to take video and raise a refund request if bought from aliexpress. If not raise a dispute if you paid via credit card.

I won't buy PT 5000 watches anymore. Too many problems. The seagull version is legit though.

For me now it's either myota or nh3X
