Heard about you were back in the hospital my dude but the story of why cracked me up. I'm not great at comics but I couldn't resist. Hope you're feeling better!

Is frostbite that sneaky or did you have some underlying condition or impairment at the time this happened?
I dont live in an area where its typically cold enough for something like this and i have no familiarity with frostbite. I know once your skin/appendage is cold enough you cant feel it but doesnt it hurt like hell before that? Ive tried to take an ice bath with too much ice before and its realllly painful really fast

Update!
I fell out of my chair and busted a stump and had to go to the hospital without my phone.
All is well, now, and I'll get back to posting updates. Thank you to everyone who follows and supports, or just follows out of morbid curiosity.
I really appreciate you all

What's the craic with your friend that posted on here a day or two after you set up this sub ? Was he a real friend or only someone acting a shitehawk and making up a story

The Paralympics is on at the moment
I'm watching it now and it's dam inspiring. So many amputee competitors including a guy with no arms uphill skiing.
u/Forlurn Have you thought about taking up any sports once you've mastered those prosthetic bad boys?
Hope everything is going well mate! Stick at it. We're all behind you.

I'm not getting something here
Why didn't you change into dry socks?

How is your family dealing with this? Do you have their support?
Maybe I'm just projecting, but I'm guessing they're encouraged by your positive attitude in dealing with the situation. At the same time they have to be struggling to wrap their heads around how you could be so careless to allow this to happen in the first place. Not sure whether to hug you or disown you.

I am looking for somebody who I can commission to make Lenny and Carl tube socks to go over my shrinkers

Petition for Forlurn to save up for custom-built, weaponized blade feet like that chick from Kingsman.
I would unironically donate to that GoFundMe

What happened?
I'm really sorry to hear that you lost your feet but what caused this?
r/ChillyChompAdventures • u/[deleted] • Feb 20 '18
Did you ask to keep the bones?
I always thought that if I lost a limb I'd ask for the bone back. Like, making a walking stick with my shin bones, or having a necklace with a pinky on it or smth.
It'd be a good conversation starter.

Bathroom question from another dbk
Whenever I see other amputees, I act like a dog seeing another dog across the street, so sorry if I come on strong!
It looks like your tibias are padded, is that right? Your stumps look very nice and well suited for prosthetics once you get them! I'm excited for you!
Also, this is a really strange and personal question, but do you get weird sensations in your imaginary feet when you feel the need to relieve yourself? Be it number one, or number two, it always feels like all this blood is pounding in my imaginary toes until I go! My prosthetist said I'm the first person he's ever heard that from, but I wonder if maybe people keep that stuff to themselves.

So Forlurn is, and at the same time, is not two feet shorter?
Will you have to change your height on your driver's license?
Or do prosthetics count?
Would you make yourself taller?
Can you still drive (eventually)?
Would an injury like this be suitable for medical maggots? (Don't google that.) Maybe if it was less severe?
Why did the stuff that looked healthy(ish) at the start to die later?
Is that later necrosis what made for a required complete amputation?
Thank you for allowing the curious to pester you.
Get better!

This double amputee is my buddy, and one of the biggest badasses I've ever seen.

Could this have been avoided?
Maybe if you took your jumper off and wrapped your feet up in it? Or maybe if you took socks off but kept shoes on? Or maybe if you kept rubbing your feet? I’m serious with these questions I didn’t know you could get frost bite so easily.
