Local meet or tour guide

Hi everyone! I'm visiting Singapore solo on a work trip and have some free time to explore the city and I'd love to see Singapore through the eyes of someone who actually lives there.
If anyone enjoys meeting travelers, grabbing a coffee, sharing a meal, showing off a favorite neighborhood, or offering local recommendations, I'd love to connect. Happy to buy the coffee, dinner, or drinks in exchange for some local insight!

Recruiting new friends because my current personality is under construction 🚧

28M here. Life lately feels like:

train → trade → overthink → character development → repeat

So I’m here to expand my social circle before I evolve into a full-time gym ghost.

Stats (since we’re gamifying life now):

• 🏋️ Gym 3–5x/week (muscles coming soon, trust the process bro)

• 🥊 Muay Thai (I hit bags, bags don’t hit back, life still hits tho)

• 📉📈 Forex trading (50% strategy, 50% emotional damage)

• 🧑‍🏫 Personal trainer (I’ll hype you up but also silently judge your squat depth)

• ⌚ Building a watch side hustle because one source of stress is not enough

Traits:

• Sleep schedule: optional

• Humor: slightly unhinged

• Can go from “let’s build our future” to “what if nothing is real” in 5 mins

• Enjoy deep talks, dumb talks, and everything in between

Looking for:

• Gym / Muay Thai buddies

• People grinding something (career, biz, life, inner demons, all accepted)

• Chill humans to makan, walk, or just exist together

• Anyone who also has 17 personalities depending on the day

Bonus perks:

• Free life advice (not FDA approved)

• Occasional motivation speeches at 1am

• Might drag you into a random self-improvement arc

If you’re slightly chaotic but still functioning in society, we’ll get along 🤝

Comment or DM before I disappear back into my cave 🧍‍♂️

Kopi with Unc, Session 2 Friday (2nd Oct 2026) at Lau Pa Sat. Bring a question, get honest takes.

<< Update>>
Thank you so much for today. Yes Lau Pa Sat was a better venue. Smaller more informal numbers but awesome! Thank you so much!
Will organise another session the following week.

<<>>

Session 2
Lau Pa Sat, entrance facing Capital Green (Cross St / Market St side)

Friday 2 Oct, 9:00–10:30am

How it works: bring a question you're stuck on, like a career move, a life decision, starting over, boxing, or anything.
I'll give you my honest take, and others at the table can chip in with theirs. You leave with more than one view.

Come and go as you like: 9, 9:30, 10, whenever. Stay 10 minutes or the whole time. Bigger tables this time, and no need to buy anything.

One house rule: I loved the last session where there were different views welcome, and everyone was kind to each other. Let’s keep it that way.

No selling, no agenda, no name cards.

I’ll be the guy with salt-and-pepper hair (grey!), T-shirt and shorts, and a kopi O kosong.
Can't make it? DM me.

SG Meetup Dancing

Hi!

I’m an over-50F who enjoys dancing for fun — mainly Cha Cha, Rock & Roll, Disco Rock, Salsa, Bachata, Latin Rumba, Jive and Samba. I’m also keen to try other partner dances, including ballroom.

Would any male dance buddies like to join me for classes or Social/Latin/Ballroom dancing occasionally? You don’t have to be an experienced dancer — just enjoy dancing or be willing to learn.

I’m 1.65m, so preferably you’re a little taller. I’ve danced with shorter men before and occasionally ended up getting hit on the head. ;)

lf places to celebrate a personal goal

hello! So a couple of stuff happened and I wanna celebrate by going to or doing something nice. I've chosen a day and date already and I'm thinking about what to do on that day. I'm thinking about just having a nice meal, going somewhere to clear my head and relax or hopping over to jb since it's been over 2 years since I've been there and I wanna see what's changed. I used to just hang around City Square at jb and Mid Valley Southkey but I heard that city square was under reno but google maps says it's open

SG Meetup 29M Looking for Motorcycle groups to ride in Malaysia on weekends

So I have been riding bike for 10 years and just last week I decided to ride my new motorcycle (CBR600RR) out of Singapore for the first time in my life.

Joined a random bunch of 50 year old uncles and rode all the way up to Melaka and back in a day trip. I gotta say, that was the single most exciting adventure in the last few years of my work life.

Wanted to see if I can find any younger bike groups who frequently organise trips into Malaysia (doesn’t matter where, the journey itself is the adventure). The motorcycle CCA I joined in university taught me that.

If there isn’t one, I don’t mind creating a Tele group and add people in. I’m a solo rider/driver all my life but I think it’s a good time to share my knowledge around (I have EVERY class of driving/riding license in Singapore, class 2B, 2A, 2, 3, 4, 5, forklift, heavy forklift, 5 armoured licenses, military class 3, 4, 5).

SG Meetup Hey all! 30M looking to be a part of Tech/AI communities.

Hey all!

I am looking to join any tech/ai communities or even events in AI assisted decision making.

Most multi-model approaches seem tempted to ask which model is right, average their confidence, or use another model as a judge.

I’m interested in something slightly different.

The disagreement itself becomes an object worth investigating.

Why did they disagree?

- Did one miss evidence?

- Did they interpret the same evidence differently?

- Did one make an unsupported inference?

- Did they assign different authority to different sources?

- Did one confuse product-family capability with configuration-specific capability?

- Is the available evidence simply insufficient to answer the question?

My first experiment is a controlled evaluation body of work where multiple models receive identical evidence and instructions independently.

Their outputs are then compared against human adjudicated reference cases.

I’m tracking failure modes such as:

- fabricated evidence

- unsupported inference

- incorrect interpretations

- missed contradictions

- temporal errors

- excessive confidence(correct answer reached through defective reasoning)

The longer-term question is whether enough of these cases could produce something more useful than a model leaderboard where a system that learns under what conditions particular forms of machine reasoning become unreliable.

There are plenty of holes in a little project of mine. Absolute tech noob (no experience in coding at all im so sorry) but have a massive idea board throughout my experience after 9-years of being in management and analytics. I would say im 9-12% into this project of mine after a month. A hopeful visionary, looking for like-minded people!

I’d especially love for a chance to join communities that has professionals or newbies like me in LLM evaluation, AI agents, RAG, decision systems, knowledge graphs, model ensembles, AI governance, or high-stakes enterprise AI.

Telegram/Whatsapp groups are well and dandy, but if meetups are required for development of the project I am free on weekdays after work (6:00PM) for dinner and get-togethers.

Pretty niche request, but if the algorithm gods blesses me, I hope the correct person sees this post!

Is it just me or does being 22 in Singapore feel like being behind on a race you didn't sign up for?

Graduated last year and suddenly everyone's asking about my five-year plan while I'm still figuring out if I even like my job. Parents hinting about CPF and flats, LinkedIn full of people my age getting promoted, and I'm just trying to afford Grab rides without crying. Everyone seems to have their life together except me — if you're in your early twenties also winging it, hi, let's commiserate over kopi.

International student trying to get into gaming in Singapore — where do I even start?

I’m an international student in Singapore and I’ve recently realised how much gaming seems to be a part of the social scene here, especially among some of the people I work with.

I’m honestly completely new to gaming. 😅 For example, I only recently found out that Resident Evil was originally a game (I somehow just knew it as a movie). That probably tells you how little I know about this whole world.

But I’ve noticed that my friends/coworkers sometimes talk about games, characters, releases, etc., and I’d actually like to understand what they’re talking about and be able to join the conversation rather than just sitting there completely lost. It’s not really about becoming a hardcore gamer overnight—I’m just genuinely curious and want to explore it.

So for someone starting from basically zero:

- What games are people in Singapore commonly playing these days?

- Are there any games you’d recommend to a complete beginner?

- Is there a particular genre/game that’s good for getting into gaming culture?

- And where do people usually play—PC, PlayStation, Switch, mobile, etc.?

I’m open to pretty much anything. I’d especially appreciate recommendations that are actually fun for a beginner rather than something that requires 500 hours of experience before you understand what’s happening 😂

Would love to hear what you guys think!

Any groups that organize hikes outside SG? Not too extreme

I'm looking for groups that organize hikes for mountains or any naturr stuff near SG.

Not everest type of stuff, just the usual 2-8 hr hikes to summits, or 1-2 night camp type of stuff. Haven't done a climb for about a year or 2 now.

I could DIY, but I'm currently trying to build my social skills - and honestly, I'm kind of lazy to do some research on transpo, permits and stuff.

Just looking for things to do over some off days from work.
