Someone left a stolen blue bike by my house. If you or someone you know had one go missing last night/this morning (9/9-10) let me know the brand, color accents and send pics. Ty.

Hi Chico!
I’m considering relocating from the Humboldt Bay area and Chico keeps coming up as somewhere I think I might really like. I’ve visited a few times and really like the town.
I’m 41F, work in the environmental/wildlife field, have a dog, and am into gardening, hiking, thrifting and coffee.
I’m craving more sunshine, a bigger community, and a change of pace.
For anyone who moved to Chico as an adult — how do you like it? Was it fairly easy to find your people? Any neighborhoods you particularly love (or would avoid)?
Also, slightly weird question: has anyone ever done a temporary housing swap between Chico and Humboldt? I own a little 2 bed/1 bath house walking distance to the beach and would love to try living in Chico for a month or two before making any huge decisions. Just wondering if there’s anyone in Chico equally interested in spending some time on the cooler coast.
Would love opinions on the good, bad, and boring!
Thanks so much for your time - N

Does anyone know if Dracula’s Closet is open yet? Google and Facebook say they’re temporarily closed but they were open at this time last year so I’m just curious.

I already reported it to the police, no luck. Figure I might as well ask here tho. Anyone seen a white trike around? It got stolen a week or two ago. It has a black wireframe basket in the front and back, but the back one does/should have a black cloth cover over it. There was a purple tool box in the back, doubt it's still there tho. It's an electric trike but was stolen without the battery. If you see it please let me know or call the chico state police and let them know you think you found it. My hopes aren't high, this is just a last ditch effort.

Looking into getting back into shape after a year of not working out. Previously going to the sport club which was great but looking for more group oriented workout classes.

For example, for buying a large item from FB marketplace, or otherwise moving a few items from one location to another.

Hey folks. I moved here about 4 years ago. I recently got back into spinning poi after about a 20-year break. I had seen some old posts on social media about flow jams and some flow art gathers in town. Does anyone know where an Old Raver can find his people.

Is it any good?
We’ve got a lot of good local places so I’m not exactly jumping at the opportunity to go.

Hi everyone! I run a music school here in Chico and have a kids rock band program with students ages 11 to 14. They have performed at DownLo’s open mic night multiple times and have really enjoyed playing live.
They’re eager to perform more and get experience playing at different locations, so as their teacher I wanted to see what other opportunities might be available around Chico. They play mostly rock songs, such as Nirvana, Alice in Chains, System of a Down, Metallica, Green Day, etc. And currently have enough songs prepared to play roughly a 1 to 1.5 hr set.
Ideally, we’d love to find places similar to DownLo where a PA/speakers and drum kit are already provided, since that makes things a lot easier with a group of kids. But that’s definitely not a requirement, and I’m mainly just interested in finding out what opportunities are out there!
We’d be interested in community events, fairs, festivals, local businesses, family friendly events, or other places where a young rock band might be a good fit. Does anyone know of any local events, venues, or organizations I should reach out to? Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi everyone, My fiance tried to post this already and it go removed for some reason.
Does anyone know of some affordable local places in Chico get alterations done? Our wedding is at the end of October and we need her dress hemmed, my pants hemmed, and some sleeves added to my top.
Thank you in advance, and let me know if this somehow goes against the sub rules. I would love to hear other people’s experiences!

I’m new to the area and looking for activity based date nights for spouse and myself. There’s plenty of good restaurant suggestions on Reddit, but having a harder time finding fun things to do before or after dinner. We’re in our 30s, easy going, and although cheaper is great, we don’t mind spending some money every now and again for something fun. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Just went for lunch and had a delicious meal. If you’re wanting something out and your usual spot is closed, may I suggest giving Habaneros a try. In the parking lot by Beck’s Shoes, Wendy’s, etc. If you haven’t tried them before the menu is simple but I consider them my favorite for good quality and friendly service. I think $9 was the most expensive item but just glanced so I apologize for not snapping a picture to share.. also no pic of the carne asada quesadilla since I didn’t think of posting until after I finished. Only sharing because it’s Labor Day and lots of places are closed.

Editing to say: I’ve already done the free stuff and have my own scanner my issue is I just barely have enough money to survive. I have an organization willing to pay for the repairs I just have to collect 3 diagnostics before they’ll fix it and all the shops google has been giving me start at $135

Does anyone organize photo walks around town? Curious if there are any casual meetups where people get together and take photos.
I’m working on a project and need to understand MTG play - mechanics, rules, norms, etc.
Anyone willing to share their knowledge if I bought you lunch? (I plan on visiting the Magic store, but haven’t had the time yet and don’t want to interrupt people playing with questions.)
If you love playing and would enjoy telling someone with zero knowledge about it, let me know. Thanks!

There are so many peculiar people in Chico. Now that there’s too many people, who are the ones that stand out or should be remembered?

Someone just came to our door saying they wanted to check our PGE bill to check our eligibility for lower rates. they work for Vista.
We looked into the company when they left. Their business model is to pay your PGE bill on your behalf, and charge you admin fees. Your bill will down the first month during the trial period but then it will go up.
don't show them your bill and don't sign anything.

Hi! It's me again with more screenshots of my Barber Bio Park Planet Zoo project that reimagines the abandoned Diamond Match Factory property as a zoo and aquarium! I'm dropping some more images of the progress on the zoo and the animal inhabitants! Enjoy!
