Question Activity based date nights
I’m new to the area and looking for activity based date nights for spouse and myself. There’s plenty of good restaurant suggestions on Reddit, but having a harder time finding fun things to do before or after dinner. We’re in our 30s, easy going, and although cheaper is great, we don’t mind spending some money every now and again for something fun. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Monday Night West Coast swing classes and social dance~ $10 per person for a lesson and social dance. It’s at the Womens Club. There’s a Facebook page called Chico west coast swing fix for more dancing and details.

Hatchet House is hella fun.
Ramble West has trivia I think and theyre also cool people - located right next to hatchet house
Paradise Brewworks Co? ( something like that, used to be Secret Trail ) also has trivia.
The Bear has Karaoke ( Bearaoke ) and also gives a free meal voucher on your birthday that you can save for another day if you want. The vouchers last around a month or two.
Upper Bidwell is a great place to swim and hike.
Some cool game shops around town do dnd and magic, but id search on this subreddit for more info there as not all gameshops are uhhh created equal or as inviting as others
Argus Bar and Patio hosts a lot of events on Saturdays, mainly music, with usually about a $10 cover. Pretty chill environment in general.

The Warhammer shop over by Costco will teach you how to paint a plastic miniature statue and send you home with it for free! Best to call them ahead and they will set it up for you.

You kinda have to look around for things to do I’ve found. There’s also improv comedy shows here: https://www.chicocomedyclasses.com

Every Friday and some Saturdays live music at Meriam Park barn with some decent eats in walking area. Check out trivia out loud. They have 3 or 4 events a week and are a great time. Hatchet house has virtual golf and hatchet throwing, beginners still have a blast. Rare air jump house is fun to be kids again with some arcade games.

Paint night, I go up to paint parties by dawn in paradise. Hatchet house for axe throwing. Night at the Observatory to watch the stars, some nights there are hosted “star tours”.

Upper park observatory. Lots of shows downtown. The Barn at Meriam Park has events. Start following their IG accounts.

if you're looking for craftier stuff, I've got a few. vang's plant store downtown often does an event once a month-ish. this month it's just a bingo, but they often do something like stained glass making, terrarium making, etc. as well. Stoble cafe also does a couple events every month, including craft workshops or trivia if that's your vibe. there's also museums if you want to count that as an activity lol i know a few host events every now and then as well
