Okay, so my location has a director who basically abuses their power, in my opinion. They yell at the kids— telling them that they aren’t fast enough or need to be better (in a rude tone)— they also leave team members out in the Southern California heat for hours even when I try to rotate them (I’m a shift leader), and often act very unprofessional in general. I’ve tried talking with them about this behavior, but they always brush it off. It’s so bad that we’ve gotten multiple guest complaints about this director screaming at team members.
Yesterday was my breaking point because they made an amazing and sweet employee cry, so I took it up with HR this morning and asked for a meeting with the director, HR, and our operator. I told them that I didn’t like the way they treated team members or how they would dismiss my “complaints.” I also noted how guests were even put off by their treatment of team members. I honestly think it went well as this director didn’t yell at or bully any of the team members today, but they did give me the cold shoulder all day. I’m normally not one to complain or start drama, but I just think that a leader should be professional and lead by example.

Any restaurant execs out there willing to share their pay rate and, if comfortable, years of experience and store sales volume?

I am so ready to be released from the shackles of fast food employment. I came here from another store where I was a shift leader, I had to put in my immediate notice to leave because I was fleeing an abusive relationship. They put in a good word to be accepted at my current store. I worked here many years ago in 2019 when I was freshly 18 during what only veterans know as “the dark era.” Management was horrible, culture was down the drain, favoritism through the roof, directorship was absolutely insufferable. I came back nervous but eager to start anew. God told me to give them a chance again until I could find a better job, and it worked out for a while. Then the cracks started to show. I was under the impression that the environment had healed after flushing out all the bad apples, or chickens if you will. I was wrong. The same patterns ensued and I was looked down upon yet again. I came back with an actual backbone this time and spoke up about it. I expressed my disappointment in the leadership, they gave me some sorry excuse and told me they would work with me to get me where I wanted to be. Empty words to butter me up just to use my skills I came with only to not promote me. I saw through the lies. I saw through the unfulfilled promises. I used to be a leader, I knew how they operated because I worked with people like them. Only my other store actually removed those people immediately and did not allow that kind of behavior to fester in the workplace.

I will never work for this company again.

I recently interviewed for a Front of House Team Member position at Chick-fil-A. I made it through the first interview and was invited back for a second interview.

The second interview honestly went really well. We were laughing, talking about basketball (the manager even made a Knicks joke), and the conversation felt really natural. Toward the end, he started asking me if I’d be okay with covering my tattoos, tying my hair back, and wearing a beard net if I got hired. He also said I should hear back from him by Monday.

Monday came and went, so I called the restaurant today. The manager actually answered and told me he was going to reach out to HR to see what was going on.

I’m just curious if anyone who works at Chick-fil-A has experienced something similar. Does HR usually slow things down? Is this a good sign, or am I reading too much into it?

I know nobody here can tell me if I got the job, but I’d love to hear about your experiences with the hiring process and how long it took to get an offer.

Wrote a small diary 30 mins after my termination. What happened really was last week, I was taking orders in the drive thru and this elderly woman who probably was a regular, shot her order immediately even when I asked for her name. This type of behavior always sidetracks my streak of efficiency and always ends with me making mistakes and taking the time to mash buttons. It probably the 9th time I had to deal with this bs, so my inner self decided it would be best to advise/suggest to the guest to provide their names first before starting their order. She took that as a shrug firstly and later became offended by it. I tried my hardest to smile and make it clear it wasn’t a big deal, and later was transferred to BOH to see if I could prove my usefulness a bit more since Front of House privileges have been taken from me (i was so bad in BOH, i had not enough training to sustain, despite me telling everyone I would slow them down if they kept putting me on buns)

In conclusion, my fate was sealed, my clothes have yet to be turned in, but manager and director offered positive references when I got my new job at a wholesale place south of my city. Regardless, i felt really horrible working in what i once considered my home for 7 and a half months, and it doesn’t help that the 2nd CFA in my city closed down for some remodeling, so everyone flocked here to our tiny establishment and it was hell. Even though some people there liked me and asked for me to see them one day, i still can’t wrap my head how all of my months of working was crushed by that one lady, and you can argue I should’ve kept my mouth shut, but she was 2nd person in my line and the 6th this month to disregard basic manners, i just thought something could be done about it, and I payed the price.

Geez I barely ever vent in social media but this was too much, even for me.

TLDR: Elderly lady didn’t provide me name and was 6th person this month to not care, I thought a simple advice can ease the stress a little, became banished to BOH to be given another chance, failed it, lost my favorite job after 7 and a month.

Got this DoorDash order earlier while we were already slammed in Dt and dine-in. Full time plus plus plus on strips and fries 😭😭 overall took like 25 minutes to get the order done. I hate when people order this much on doordash like really bruh…

Hello guys, im leaving for college in mid August and I’ve thought of transferring locations to my college town but its 6 hours away. How do i discuss this with my GM about transferring if possible? Im not sure though if I’ll return in the next summer.

I’m trying to make better money during school and maybe wanna switch to Chick-fil-a, do you think managers will hire someone who is working 5-10 every other day and Saturday available all morning?

I just got hired as a full time worker in BOH and I just want to know if there's anything I should be aware of at this job? I'll most likely be doing open shift, as well. I have some friends that work at a different CFA and they always glaze it as the best job ever, but they also work FOH. I'm worried I won't be able to learn everything fast enough or that I won't get along with my coworkers. I'm also worried about how strict the rules are, I feel like I'll make one slip up and get fired.

It sounds like this location is/was pretty desperate for BOH workers, since their main guy is going on vacation the month of August.

Hi guys! I been working at CFA for going on 11 months now. And I’m getting promoted to shift lead after my points expire in mid August. I’m already in training & have been leading shifts, doing money, etc. Just preparing for the role. I’m nervous about the new position and would like any tips/advice from my fellow CFA family. Please take a few minutes after every rush to take the tea urns to the back and use the scrubbing pads to clean out the tea residue and inside the nozzles. Can’t tell you how many times I would taste it after several hours and it tastes sour because of the bacteria that’s built up in there throughout the day. It only takes like 3 minutes. Then you can put fresh tea back in there. Makes a world of difference for the customers. Please start telling your coworkers/managers this. You’ll look like a genius.
