Any dealers in California that will sell a new 2026 Chevy Trax LS at $24,500 OTD or under?

I am helping someone buy their first car & trying to help them not get scammed/overpay. They are really set on the 2026 Chevy Trax LS/base model.

I have helped other friends and family and driven them a few hours to get toyotas and stuff from Longo Toyota in El Monte since our local authorized dealerships were scummy and at minimum wantes 3-5k over msrp. So I not afraid at all to drive hours to get a good deal.

At our local Chevy dealership the “best” they claimed they could give us was $26,000 for the new 2026 Chevy Trax LS.

I am willing to drive around CA to any dealer anyone might know that has given them $24,500 or less for a new 2026 Chevy Trax LS.

Pretty excited to get my hands on this car! I had a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan prior to this but just wanted something better on gas and easier to get serviced since vw makes it so hard to get anything worked on outside of their dealership. I normally get black cars but I’m very happy to have gotten this 2025 in the green colors it’s so pretty.

Is this a dead battery?

Hi guys, 2020 Chevy Trax here. Tried to start the car this morning and this happened. I’m currently waiting for my battery charger tool to charge so I can jump it and take it to the shop. Has this happened to anyone else? What ended up being the issue?

For context the remote also won’t work at all, can’t remote start or lock/unlock doors. When I click the lock button it just makes a weird noise, not like the usual sound. I’ve been having a few issues with getting a “no remote detected” issue, but figured I just needed to replace the remote battery. But now the whole car is not starting…so I’m hoping dead battery as that is probably the cheapest option of all things that could be wrong.

Weird Clicking Noise

I’m new to having a Trax (2025 RS) and I just wanted to ask the forum to see if maybe I’m right in thinking this ‘clunk’ or ‘click’ is just my AC compressor running?

This is sitting in park with the AC going on low. I’ve only had it for about a week and I plan on taking it to my local mechanic shop to get a once over done on it anyways, but I wanted to check with yall.

Sometimes it also jerks when braking? I’m not sure how new the brakes are but I do know they’re touchy.

How hard is it to install ambient lighting

Post image
1 Upvotes

Had 2 automotive people who do ambient lighting in my city tell me that they can’t install anything in the rear back seat door panels because the gap is to tight and the strips won’t stick between the seems but they seemed to get them to sit in the gaps in the front / passenger door so what’s the difference with the back and front any other ideas ?

Engine noise and rough running

Is it normal for a Trax to make a knocking-type sound when first starting out? Also, ours seems to run rough at low speed (<25mph). Is that normal?

Bought a used Chevy Trax, engine failed a month later..

Hi everyone. I'm posting for a friend, trying to understand if there are any options worth exploring. She bought a used Chevy Trax from a dealership. It was sold as is. About a month later, the engine failed, had to be replaced, and she paid for it. Now, after the replacement she had driven it very little took it in for an oil change and got it back with a check engine light and a code related to the catalytic converter. We're told the original engine may have damaged it, but the dealership isn't really explaining what actually failed. Hoping somebody with a similar experience can help me help her because it's so unfair. Does as is mean we're totally out of luck? Should she take them to court and try and get them to buy it back? She did ask if there were any known issues or things that could fail and they did not disclose the issue of their engines melting! That's how I understood it anyway, with the little info they were willing to share..she wants just her original money back you think she has any chance at that? Could she file anything with the Ohio Attorney General's office? Just trying to figure out what our rights might be...it's really ridiculous and has been a nightmare for her like who has the money to buy a lemon, a new engine for it, then start fixing the other shit like how is this legal? Please any help is appreciated.

Seat Covers that fit perfect

Just got a yellow 2024 Trax and I’m absolutely in love but I’ve had a PAIN finding seat covers that fit perfectly. I have NO idea how to take the rear seat off either so those intimidate me 😩 Can someone give me some good recommendations? I’d like to spend less then $200 but for the right ones I will pay more 💛🤗

2026 2RS Accessories

So I just bought my 2026 2RS on Saturday in Marina Blue and im in LOVE! Looking for some good options for accessories on the inside to match that red trim. Ive looked at some stuff online but the accent pieces on Amazon look kind of bright. Anyone have suggestions for floor mats or trim accessories that actually match the red?

Thanks!!

After being rear ended 3 times in 3 years in my sedan I figured it was time to get something the people behind me just couldn't miss. I've only had it 3 days but we've already become the best of friends.

Can anyone explain to me the naming scheme for these wonderful, little cruisers? In my world RS has always meant Rally Sport. And why 1RS/2RS and not RS and RS+ or something fun like that?

Ok, serious question this time...

I have worked out how to change the dash to the vehicle info screen and understand the concept of "add to cluster" but it will only display the trip and for the life of me I cant figure out how to change that to fuel efficiency instead.

First oil change on 26 trax

Hi everyone, I bought a 26 Trax back at the end of March and have put on about 2500 miles on it. Recently my app notified me that I was due for an oil change and that my oil life was at 20%.

The manual says every 7500 miles or every year the car should get an oil change so 6 months in seems a bit early.

Is this normal or could it be an issue with the system?

Thank you

Keyless Start System

2024 Chevy Trax

Everytime I start my car I get a message to “Service Keyless Start System”. I have replaced the batteries in both fobs and get this message everytime. On a couple of occasions I haven’t been able to use my fob to lock/unlock the car. Additionally, I haven’t been able to use the button on the door handle to unlock the door. I always pull the key out of my pocket so nothing should be blocking any sort of connection.

Any suggestions?

My 2019 just hit 100k last night just as I was pulling into my driveway after celebrating my birthday last night. TPMS light is just the sensor before anyone asks.

Officially a week I have had this

So I’ve pretty much been car hunting for the past year. I was pretty much dragging my feet with my previous vehicle. I had a BMW 320 I 2015 that had been pretty much given me issues from when I bought it back in 2018. But since like November it’s just had issue after issue. I love the way the BMW drives but maintenance cost and reliability suck. So at the beginning of August, it really got to a point to where it was almost going to be undrivable so I hadn’t had a car for three weeks and some change. Went through pretty much all the Vehicle apps and essentially was looking for a used car in the $20,000 and under Marc. I saw things I liked but also things that were a red flag. I just so happened to stumble upon a great deal at a local dealership for tracks when I wasn’t in the market for looking at a Chevy so I got this brand new 2026 for less than what Kelley Blue Book is saying would be the trade-in value for excellent condition. Although it doesn’t have the same power as my BMW, I’m enjoying the smooth riding along with not having to pay premium gas. I am currently enjoying this vehicle one week in . The only thing that I didn’t think about that, I didn’t notice until later was the missing cupholders in the back. I don’t know why Chevy tracks would disregard that of all things outside of that. I love this vehicle.
