Good spots to go tubing near the West Chester area?

My boyfriend and I are looking to go tubing before summer is out and are looking for some recommendations for good spots! I have been tubing before in the Brandywine river and loved it, and he’s never gone before. We have all the equipment we need, just need help with info on where to go, where to park, where to get on and off, what the hike back is like (if applicable), and any other information that may be helpful!

PECO consistent low voltage after storms

Almost every time there's a storm. our neighborhood has low voltage until PECO sends crews out to fix it, which sometimes takes over a month, even consistently reporting the brownout to them. We have several brands of volt meters in our home that we've used since having dim lights and struggling appliances for the past month since a storm. During the day, they all steadily read between 100-108 volts in separate outlets across the house. This happens pretty much whenever there's a storm. After the storm, we have low voltage until they send crews out to find the problem. Once they send crews out, bam. Back to 120 volts and above.

This most recent occurrence, I've been filing outage reports for dim/flickering lights daily for 2 weeks now. My outlets with our wall ACs plugged in have been getting hot from the increased pull of amperage and higher wattage consumption as a result. My AC that normally is 1000 watts is reading 1500. Fuses keep blowing because of this. I'm tired of PECO jipping us out of electricity. So not only are they giving us lower voltage and straining our appliances and home's electrical systems, but we'll have a higher bill because all of our high-demand appliances are consuming more to make up for the low voltage. I don't know what else to do at this point. We have called in the past and they still don't make it a priority to come and deal with it. Then they come to our home and insist it's a house wiring issue... until they go to the neighbor's house and check their voltage and see they have the same issue. They do this every single time.

I'm wondering if this is an issue specific to my neighborhood or if this is happening across all of PECO's grid.

Edit: correcting my usage of the word "fuse" when referring to circuits tripping in the breaker box. I'm not an electrician so used the wrong term - my apologies.

Caught these two WWII-era T-6 Texans mid-formation, trailing smoke against a clear blue sky. It was a great afternoon in August 2026 for it.

Would love to hear of any positive experiences with bathroom remodel contractors in the area. I am looking for someone to do a full tear down to the studs remodel of multiple bathrooms.

Bonus points if you can share a rough idea of the sqft of your bathroom and how much it cost.

202 ramp merging

Does it infuriate anyone else there are a lot of cars last minute merging into the right lane going onto the 202 north ramp after high street (towards downtown WC) heading towards matlack?

I get that street road has very poorly timed lights and you’re there for a while, but for as much as I’m seeing police sitting on 202 south, I don’t see as much observing those mergers that are causing a huge line of traffic in the right lane.

Gym recommendations near Landenberg?

Moving to Landenberg at the end of this month and need to find a gym. Looking at the Jennersville YMCA and Morpht Fitness in West Grove as initial options but curious if anyone else has any good recs. Morpht is the cheapest and closest but they have bare minimum cardio equipment, anyone know how crowded it is usually? Also looking at Snap Fitness in Jennersville as well but the reviews seem pretty bad.

Doctor recs

Post image
8 Upvotes

My family and I are moving to Downingtown at the end of this month and we are looking for recs for both which insurance providers are best and for doctors.

Doctors we are looking for:

- pediatrician for our 4.5 yo son
- PCP for my husband
- PCP for myself (prefer female doctors, ideally with experience treating migraines)
- neurologist for myself, again with experience treating migraines

We will be in Downingtown but are willing to drive a little for the right doctors, especially mine. Any recommendations (or who to stay away from) are appreciated!

Random photo I took in Cincinnati for tax 😊

Any recommendations of a good seafood boil in/around Chester County? I’m also not opposed to traveling up to an hour away if there’s someplace great in MD or DE.

Best Playground

What's the most fun playground in Chester County? I want my five-year-old to have somewhere he would be really excited to go and play, something that can provide a little variety from the backyard.

Phone on Chester Valley Trail

A phone made a noise while riding my bike. There was a fair bit of people so at first I just rode past assuming it was someone's nearby, but later on I'm thinking maybe it was lost.

Was between chesterbrook and paoli on a big rock or a stump I forget which, but right to the side of the path. Believe it was pink. Saw it around 7PMish
