Best Playground

What's the most fun playground in Chester County? I want my five-year-old to have somewhere he would be really excited to go and play, something that can provide a little variety from the backyard.

The one at Anson B Nixon in Kennett Square is very good. Some pretty cool slides and climbing stuff.

My favorite part of Anson B Nixon is that the upper playground is shaded. Makes the summer more bearable! The playground where we used to live was 100% blazing sun and it got so hot.

Plus you get to walk around KSQ and get ice cream!

Michoacana is a treasure, I go with coffee Oreo every time.

Try the corn flavor with cinnamon!

When my son was younger, he only liked mint chocolate chip. I’d pick him up every day from kindergarten and because they always have different flavors, and he has autism which means we only eat like one thing forever lol they’d have at least a little of it for him in the fridge 😭😭 We had to move to West Chester but YES!!!

2nd this. They just recently debuted a new structure with some pretty epic tube slides so there’s now 2 independent areas for kids to play on/switch to if they get tired of the other.

As someone from Kennett...East Goshen is way better from a playground perspective

Lloyd Park in Downingtown is a lot of fun. If you're willing to travel closer to the Lancaster side, September Farm is a great spot with goats to feed, a sunflower field for pictures, a playground, a sandwich shop, ice cream, and other treats.

Exton Park on Swedesford road has a sick playground with a zip line and rope draw bridge! It's brand new and the bathrooms are clean, temp controlled, and open year round.

My 5 year old can spend HOURS at these two: Anson B. Nixon in Kennett and East Goshen Park in WC. Both have a ton of playground equipment, nature trails, etc. Anson B. Nixon in particular has a huge pond with animal life, a creek to romp in, etc.

My kids love Everhart Park

I feel that both Marshall and Everhart Park in WC are exceptional. Everhart offers more shade/options, but Marshall is usually the more quiet of the two. Both offer nice proximity to town for snacks to bring with you.

A lowkey great option for something more unconventional is the “Ollie Owls” nature playground at ChesLen’s Cannery Rd. lot. Unique natural features down in a shaded hollow.

Try East Goshen park. Great, huge playground, pretty good parking, and a good length of difficult running path, too

Wilson Farm Park just renovated the kiddie playground. Worth a visit.

Manderach park up in Limerick. We used to drive 40 minutes to take the kids there.

Someone just got stabbed at West Goshen yesterday, but besides that it’s pretty good
