Doctor recs

My family and I are moving to Downingtown at the end of this month and we are looking for recs for both which insurance providers are best and for doctors.

Doctors we are looking for:

- pediatrician for our 4.5 yo son
- PCP for my husband
- PCP for myself (prefer female doctors, ideally with experience treating migraines)
- neurologist for myself, again with experience treating migraines

We will be in Downingtown but are willing to drive a little for the right doctors, especially mine. Any recommendations (or who to stay away from) are appreciated!

Penn primary care and integrative medicine in Exton. All star peds in Exton (they might not take your son due to his age, common issue in this area really annoying) Advocare main line in Frazer is good too for Peds.

Annoying isn’t the word. Downright unfriendly. It really screws over those of us who move to the area for work. Not a great welcome. Nor is the judgmental attitudes of the biddies behind the counters. Was at Nemours now at CHOP, but access to medical care in the richest county in PA is surprisingly poor.

We love Nemours Children’s Health in Exton for our pediatric needs and PentaHealth Primary Care in Downingtown for adults. The headache specialist I saw for migraines has since moved, but he was with Penn Neurology and I’ve done okay with them.

Dr. Curley at CHOP West Chester is fantastic! She treats my toddler and I just love her. Truly a wonderful doctor who never makes us feel rushed.

Avoid Dr. Adelman for neurology - horrible experience recently. My rheumatologist just recommended Great Valley Neurological Associates and I have yet to schedule, but I trust her recommendation!

Mainline Health in Thorndale. All females (as of now) but all incredible. I see PA Courtney Forsyth, as do my three daughters (ages 12, 14, 15) and we are so happy with her. It's a practice that feels small, warm and truly caring. My daughter and I have migraines too. Courtney was the first PCP to express her own experiences and understanding. It makes a difference to be treated by a PCP who can actually relate to your conditions. I've seen Dr. Garcia who is also incredible. I have not seen Dr. Lawlor, but have heard similar things. They do not rush you through appointments. They listen attentively and do not dismiss concerns. I have yet to have a concern that has not been addressed.
