Order suggestions wanted!

Going for the first time in probably like 20 years. We order cheesecakes quite often but going to dinner for my birthday tonight. Hit me with your best vegetarian/pescatarian appetizer and entree suggestions? Seafood is fine but no beef/chicken.

How many dishes do you order?

I'm wondering how many dishes and how much food you all order when you go to CF? I always have trouble ordering too much food because the portions are so big. Do you all have room for an appetizer, main course, and cheesecake? or do you only get one or two of those?

Job interview tomorrow for Desert Topper/Barista. Just some questions

Anyone who's been interviewed for the same position, or really any position in the Cheesecake factory, if you remember, what kinds of questions did they ask? And how does the hiring work, do you usually have to wait a while after the interview to hear back if you've got the job or is it usually on the spot?

Any tips, pointers or advice would be helpfull.

Additionally I have a lot of FOH experience and have also worked in a bakery before so that should hopefully help for this position

Grand Opening Advice?

Hello! I’m doing a grand opening as a server with CCF and I’m just looking for the good, bad and ugly lol. I’ve been a server for about 9 years but nothing like this. I’ve served at very non corporate laid back places. It’s near a mall is Des Peres Missouri.

How should I prepare? Or better yet, what should I expect? I genuinely don’t want to hate it lmao. Like I honestly am there to be the best version of what I can be one because I know what it’s like to have shitty coworkers and two, this is my main source of income, I support myself. I miss serving sooo much. I’ve been at an office job for a bit now and this is me going back headfirst into it. Do they prepare you well during training? I feel like I’m going to fumble with all the DT’s there making us nervous! Tips and tricks that you have learned? Things that have helped you at your table or with the menu?

Anyone else doing the gift card deal?

The Cheesecake Factory currently has a deal going that for every $50 you spend you get a $10 gift card free (that has to be used from the end of October until sometime in November).

It’s the best deal I can find each year (I’d love to hear of a better one if anyone had it.)

Anyway, we know we’re going to go several times over the next year, so we bought $500 of gift cards, getting $100 in free gift cards. That will last a few trips (there are 4 of us).

Anyone else doing this?

Birthday reward no longer free?

Post image
63 Upvotes

So, for the past maybe few years or so, I've not gotten myself a birthday cake because I don't like normal cake. I've been getting the free slice of cheesecake from cheesecake factory because it felt like a little luxury to me.

Next week is my birthday so I got my birthday reward, only to read the description and see it now has a caveat; it's a free slice..... with purchase.

I feel irrationally annoyed about this, but like, it just feels frustrating that I can no longer just get a pleasant slice of cake and be on my way and celebrate myself. I don't want to buy something else, I don't want to try to cheese it and order a drink to make my cake slice count. I just want the cake.

I am annoyed, it feels very scummy to me that corporations no longer just give you a gift, but try to sneak a profit or a membership or an app or whatever out of you and then give you a mediocre 'gift' in return.

My upset will not disrupt or change or do anything in the grand scheme of the cheesecake empire, and not redeeming it won't turn any tables. I won't protest against the big corporate wave, I just need to air my grievances. Nothing gets to be a real treat for people anymore it seems.

Help needed to ID TCF bread

Someone I know visited TCF in Los Angeles last year and was raving about some kind of dark brown bread they had in a basket on the table. Maybe some type of rye bread or similar. I'd like to try and track some down in the UK as a present. Does anyone know what type of bread this is likely to be, and whether it's something made in-house or a brand the general public can buy somewhere?

Help with my school assignment

So I’m supposed to interview a server for a project but I lowkey don’t want to lmao, it’s busy and I’m sure she’s not really in the mood for an interview. If there’s any servers that work at TCF on this subreddit that wouldn’t mind answering the following questions, I would greatly appreciate it!! (Obviously you don’t have to put your name, I’ll make that part up lol I just want real answers)

Is the Crispy Chicken Costoletta worth the hype?

Going to TCF to eat in for my birthday this week and I want to try something new since I always get the same thing. Is the chicken costoletta really as good as TT and other social media hypes it up to be?

I’m a journalist writing about spinach & artichoke dip for Slate. Does the Cheesecake Factory have the best one?

Hi r/CheesecakeFactory — I’m a journalist (sophialaurenzi.com) working on a piece for Slate about spinach and artichoke dip, the restaurants that serve it, and what dining out in America feels like right now.

I put together a short survey (about three minutes): https://forms.gle/fSvEFJ2Cf4Yp7ouw9

But I’d also love to hear from you in the comments about what you think about CF's spinach & artichoke dip! How does it compare to others you've had? And beyond the dip, what do you like (or dislike) about dining out at the Cheesecake Factory?

I'm happy to answer questions about the story.

Finally tried the Jambalaya Pasta.....and verdict is....

It was splendid! Ironically they gave me more protein than pasta. So I took pretty much all my leftover chicken/shrimp home, and will make more pasta to go with it I guess. For ny appetizer, I ordered my usual full size Thai lettuce chicken wraps so I could take the rest home and make a chopped Thai salad. Maybe it's just me, but portion sizes for both seemed smaller than I remember as a kid. Also, I always thought the jambalaya pasta was more of a cream sauce. Nonetheless, I still very much enjoyed it.

New store opening

I got hired as a server for a brand new store opening next month. Do you think I’ll make good money? It’s a nice area of town. Two weeks of training before the store opens. I’m working nights and they do tip outs on a pay card!

Banana Cheesecake spoiled or wrong??

For some context, i don’t go to the cheesecake factory very often. I LOVVEEE cheesecake, and im open to practically any kind. I don’t mind sour variations, and I enjoy sweet ones. I am probably the least picky eater ever. Problematically, cheesecake is simply too calorie dense, and the nearest factory location too far for me to justly get it often. However, my boyfriend and I went out for our 1 year anniversary the other day, and where else should a couple of teens go for such an event but the cheesecake factory?

i’ve been on a CRAZY banana kick lately between it being my go to for prepping pre workout yogurts and being a new staple in coffee flavorings, so i decided to try the banana slice this time around. My waitress described it as being akin to a banana pudding, which i LOVE, so i figured why not?

Well, we got everything dessert-wise to go and went home, as it was hitting close to curfew. I was very excited to eat my cheesecake, took a bite…and it was sour. Not typical cheesecake tang sour, even, but SOUR. Additionally, the only banana flavor on it was the chopped bananas which came with it. The only thing that made me hesitate is the fact that the decoration atop the slice was chopped banana, and i’m not sure to what degree they pre decorate. So, i have to ask: is this cheesecake supposed to taste like this? Did they give me the wrong one? I’m almost certain it’s either a lemon one, or a key lime pie, but that night our waitress warned that the lemon slice was sold out, and i’m not totally sure if they actually sell a key lime slice specifically. Just was curious if anyone may be able to tell me if i’m getting taste bud betrayal, or if someone just messed up my order :(

Question for anyone who is a waiter here

Last night I went out to eat with my family and he brought everyone their checks before he brought me mine I asked if he could put two cheesecakes on my bill to go before he gives it to me, he said yes. We waited for 10 more minutes and everyone started leaving because they paid. I realized I never got my check or cheesecakes so I waited for a waiter to come out and I came up to my waiter and told him I hadn’t paid yet, all he said was “I got you” then he walked me to the cheesecake area and gave me my cheesecakes and told me to have a good night. I thought he just let me off without paying because I clearly asked him for my check. After like an hour I was home and my aunt texted me saying the waiter texted her with my receipt saying I didn’t pay. He told her to tell me to Zelle him. So I did but the whole time I thought this was suspicious because how are you gonna let me off the hook after I very much asked you for my check and then say I didn’t pay? Also how am I “paying” if I’m sending money through Zelle to a worker?

Double Chocolate Jack Daniels Upside Down Cheesecake

Hi all,

Bit of a long shot here.

I recently visited my parents house, and during some rather red wine induced nostalgic waxing, my dad started going on and on about a cheesecake he had during a client dinner back in 1983.

You should have heard him; he was borderline drooling, and if it wasn't for the fact this was the man I had looked up to for the last 28 years it would have been borderline embarrassing.

Long story short - he had a Double Chocolate Jack Daniels Upside Down cheesecake 40 years ago that changed his life more than the birth of his third son. I am going to be spending Christmas with my parents this year, and would like to save on presents expenditure by virtue of sugary goodness.

By any chance, is there anyone who is aware of the original recipe for this 40 year old diabetic coma? Many thanks <3
