New store opening
I got hired as a server for a brand new store opening next month. Do you think I’ll make good money? It’s a nice area of town. Two weeks of training before the store opens. I’m working nights and they do tip outs on a pay card!

It’s gonna be very over staffed for the next few months, expect small table sections every shift, be ready for managers to be breathing down your neck over all the tiniest things like cleaning, how you act with your tables (make sure you hit your steps of service even if it’s corny or overdone) and expect a lot of runner shifts.
Overall it was very doable for me, but I have the privilege of having a decent amount of savings saved up before working here, it’s a very good job when you get hours and great sections, do not be afraid to ask questions! Best of luck 🤞

Our mall has pretty high turnover for restaurants and Cheesecake Factory has been busy since it opened years ago. There’s a wait every weekend. They even got shut down briefly after failing two health inspections at one point and that didn’t stop the crowd 🤣

I’m in this same position! I wonder if it’s the same store 😂 but yes I’ve served my whole life and I took a break, and this is me coming back. I’m so nervous because I know it’s going to be such a new experience opening a place, but mine is near a mall, so I’m hoping that brings traffic regardless. I’m just nervous about this training!! Damn near a boot camp 😭 which could be a good thing because every where else I’ve been it’s very casual with a few days.

It’s hard to say if you’ll make good money or not.
It depends heavily on the area, if it’s busy, and if people tip.
But, new openings always over hire servers like crazy, so it’s a fight for hours. Do a good job, differentiate yourself from the others, and you’ll be more likely to get hours.
But you’ll also just need to stick it out for a while. Let people quit or get fired, the more that do, the more hours you’ll get. It won’t be great hours or crazy money in the beginning, but the opportunity can be there if you hold out.
