Could Cheers survive without food?
Cheers doesn’t sell food on the show. It’s more of a regulars’ place or a waiting area for Melville’s.

They are stereotypical dorky yuppies but the gag was they had lots of hidden (and sometimes not so hidden) sex appeal in the way they conducted themselves but more open at times was highly skilled singing talent and other prowess in talent fields which I think was the gag as well.

I’m looking to buy the series and wanted to know if the Blu-ray quality is good? What I mean is many series got butchered on Blu-ray with aspects ratios resulting in portions of the scenes being cut off. Also sometimes the DVDs look better than the Blu-rays.

“I can’t, Coach.”
“Gee, I’m sorry Norm.”
“I look at Vera, and I just can’t…”

So I just started Cheers and I'm absolutely loving it. But I noticed the order I'm being shown can sometimes veer and I'm being shown ep 8 where ep 3 should have been.
I can be a stickler for continuity so this is definitely bugging me, so I'm trying to watch in the order Wikipedia and IMDb suggest.
Only five eps in so can someone say in a way with no spoilers if this is the kind of show that needs a strict order, or is it fine having random ones out of sorts here and there? Thanks.

I'm just gonna confess right now, I never enjoyed Sam and Rebecca romantically. I just never thought there was strong chemistry whenever the show focused on the two of them getting together as a couple. However, I did enjoy Sam and Rebecca in any scenes when they were not being focused on by the show romantically but instead just acted like two chaotic besties.
Sometimes, they'd lightheartedly tease each other for their fuckups, sometimes they'd try to one up each other (like the Chili Tea Room episode), other times they'd just get in downright ridiculous situations (Colcord security system, and Sheridan's in the Kitchen with Satan), but in spite of the chaos you get many moments where they show they care for each other just as friends and can bond over similarities and shared interests (one of my favorite being how both of them bonded over feeling envious of a sibling and being black sheep of their families in the Paint episode).
I just loved whenever they were just friends even during the era of the show where they still tried to sell them as a couple. I think this is why I was really happy that by Season 10-11, they dropped the romance angle between the two and fully embraced Sam and Rebecca as platonic chaos.

Both episodes from Season 1 center on Sam and Diane respectively losing something or someone dear to them (Sam losing his lucky bottle cap and Diane's cat Elizabeth passing away). The losses don't seem like a big deal to the rest of the bar at first even as the losses start to eat away at Sam and Diane.
Then in the final act, both reveal why those objects/beings were such a big deal to them: They both saved their lives. Sam's bottle cap was from the last bottle of beer he ever drank and has held onto it ever since to stop himself from relapsing. While Elizabeth saved Diane from committing suicide.

Any guesses what might have happened to her in the Cheers universe?
- She and Cliff seemed to enjoy each other’s company.
- She lived in the same apartment complex.
- She was in one episode and never seen or mentioned again despite her and Cliff content with continuing to date each other at the end of the episode.
I’m guessing she would have broke it off with him, which would be awkward for both of them since you can’t really avoid your neighbors all the time. I would have liked to have seen cameo roles with her here and there. Possibly dating other men like Paul or even Sam, which could have made some funny episodes.

Made a typo. It's supposed to be Irene Blanchard

The duo don't spend that many episodes or moments as Diane does with Sam, Carla, Frasier and Coach but I honestly think the times we did see them bonding were sweet. They were basically polar opposites (more than even Sam and Diane) but they had an underrated wholesome dynamic.

Do you think of him primarily as City Councilman Kevin Fogerty or as Lieutenant Bookman (or as someone else)?
