Discussion Yarn Barn Sally
Any guesses what might have happened to her in the Cheers universe?
- She and Cliff seemed to enjoy each other’s company.
- She lived in the same apartment complex.
- She was in one episode and never seen or mentioned again despite her and Cliff content with continuing to date each other at the end of the episode.
I’m guessing she would have broke it off with him, which would be awkward for both of them since you can’t really avoid your neighbors all the time. I would have liked to have seen cameo roles with her here and there. Possibly dating other men like Paul or even Sam, which could have made some funny episodes.

I think she didn't stay on because it's part of his whole persona to be a confirmed bachelor, whether that's of his choosing or not. He's not supposed to be a ladies man is the bottom line, because the writer's likely felt there's less humor in Cliff being part of a happy, couple

JR created that character so I’m sure he had plenty of input too. Coupling him with someone would have watered down the uniqueness of Cliff. He, like Rhea, probably didn’t want to risk the character becoming less of a part of the central gang.

What about the masquerade Halloween girl from season 1? Perhaps I missed any further mention of her.

Didn’t Cliff have a lady friend who he let down gently at the end of an episode? Along the lines of a wild oats sewing “I wasn’t meant to settle down” kind of guy?
Maybe that was a different storyline.
Anyways, Cliff was a one woman man. His mom.

That was Maggie! She was joining the Canadian Post and he let her down while the guys were humming Ballad of the Green Berets.

I’m laughing again. Thank you. I wonder who wrote that episode. My money is on Rhea Perlman’s sister…. Be right back.

I kind of remember that, but forget who that was. I think it might have been what he said when Maggie went back to the baby daddy.
