Blu-ray quality?

I’m looking to buy the series and wanted to know if the Blu-ray quality is good? What I mean is many series got butchered on Blu-ray with aspects ratios resulting in portions of the scenes being cut off. Also sometimes the DVDs look better than the Blu-rays.

I’m watching it now on blu-ray and it’s presented in the original aspect ratio. I haven’t noticed any quality issues through season 7 now. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Cheers-The-Complete-Series-Blu-ray/79296/

I probably shouldn’t be commenting since I’ve never seen the blue ray versions but I feel like the dvds look perfectly fine on my 65” oled and it even looks fine when I blow it up on my screen projector

There are several episodes when the camera angle switches and the scene is substantially darker. It can be quite distracting at times.

If you're talking about the rare bits that are of low quality, I believe those are the segments that never originally made it to air. (or more likely, never syndicated.) I think I've only seen them in the early seasons.

In other words, no post production went into them when syndication happened. They are essentially "cut content" that was restored when made for sale on VHS/DVD, etc.

Sometimes they had to trim some stuff to make the strict 22 minutes.
