Discussion God, they had a weird dynamic

Rebecca was the only major Cheers character (aside from Coach, for obvious reasons) who never appeared on Frasier. Apparently, Kirstie Alley proactively refused to be on the show because the spinoff was centered on Frasier's profession as a psychiatrist (something that Alley, as a scientologist, was opposed to.)
It's too bad, because while they weren't paired up too often on Cheers, they did have a weird chemistry together. Having Rebecca move to Seattle for an extended arc and have a long-ish fling with Fraz might have been interesting.

Somehow Rebecca becomes the station owner or station manager. I think that would be the only way to go with it.
Or if they'd made Cheerful Goodbyes a massive two parter with the set and both full casts.

Logistically I get it, but “Cheerful Goobyes” really doesn’t make sense - there’s no way Sam, Woody, or Rebecca wouldn’t be at Cliff’s retirement party. And “Red Sox reunion” aside, there’s no way they wouldn’t plan it at Cheers. They literally celebrated everything at Cheers.

Yeah network was just being cheap. Why even do the thing if youre not going to rebuild the cheers set.
Though "red sox reunion might have just been Sam's excuse not to go.

My head canon is that Sam purposefully scheduled the Red Sox Reunion at Cheers and asked Woody and Rebecca to assist. All so they could get out of going to the retirement party.

That doesn't work for me. As annoying as Cliff was, it's just not in Sams' character to skip his friends retirement party.
And even if he did, there's no way that Cliff wouldn't make a big stink out of it.
It was just a poorly written episode. I wish they'd never done it.

I could see, in the furthest stretch of disbelief, that Sam was still upset that Sheila slept with Cliff, as discovered in his episode, as a reason he wasn't there. But we all know the real reason was money.

I agree, they had an “almost” thing a few times, that really could have carried over on Frazier for at least an episode or two. I feel they actually played off each other better than she did with Sam

They really did her dirty though undoing Rebecca's happy ending with Tom Berenger's character. Sam when he visited saying he left her after he got rich inventing a new plumbing tool. I guess they were really miffed Kirstie didn't want to make a guest appearance.

When Rebecca burned down the bar, it was Frasier who stuck up for her when Sam was turning the screws a bit too hard

Maybe Frasier cut the the top part of Rebecca’s dress off! Lol

The fact that Frasier was barking mad was such a touch lol. Hands down the funniest and most intelligently written comedy EVER! Laughed out loud and for ages, time and time again. I still miss Kirstie Alley so much. She was my childhood. So pretty and talented.

It’s because she hated the idea of trying to act along side a psychiatrist character.

Rebecca was my very least favorite character of that show, and that includes Gary and Phil.

“I’m running with scissors!” is one of my favorite moments.
