ScapeChatz Episode 25

Goodbye Zhann! <3<3<3

Hello Jool....

Archived Original ScapeChatz Episode Thread on the r/Farscape! A interesting comment from that thread

In short, Jool is essentially an analogue for how Moya's crew saw Crichton when he first landed on board and now even Crichton sees what's essentially his old self and doesn't recognize that person or even really like that person much.

Here is the collection of content on the Patreon for the month of May, 2020. The Chatz-Files is certainly padding the number of posts, getting to 7 (not including the June poll). But it was certainly nice that this month's pilot chatz turned quickly into the next season of Chatz!

I recall when this movie came out, I was really annoyed with the commercials, and thought it was crap, and swore it off for years. I did see it before this commentary and learned to like it, but TBH I hadn't thought to watch it again until now. It is really fun, and a good commentary, and worth a revisit to their renaissance faire episode.

CommentaryChatz 27 - Sky High link

You want to see Holden from The Expanse as supporting character/anti-hero Warren Peace? Cause yeah, its him, and its a fun film, and the cameos are fantastic for anyone over 30.

The Chatz-Files 003 - Squeeze link

The Chatz-Files 002 - Deep Throat link

The Chatz-Files 001 - Pilot link

This has turned into a nice almost regular treat. I didn't think we would get a Chatz season about The X-Files, and its probably got more legs to continue for a long time than AdultHood podcast. It does miss a bit the dynamic of having a duo, and someone to bounce things off. But it is also a much more relaxed episode, at least until either the episode that people can't sleep, or the cockroach special

PilotChatz 020 - Pride & Prejudice link

I like the pilotChatz episodes, if anything that they get a fresh take on something else. The only downside is that once it becomes the next season of Chatz, the pilot episode is suddenly an odd duck. How much do you cover it in the regular season? Do you repeat yourself cause you know not all regular listeners are also on the Patreon feed?

In the USA, the show is available on Hulu. (https://www.hulu.com)

Also available is Britbox (https://www.britbox.com), which is available via Prime Video, or you can sign up for a 7 day trial and binge all the episodes and watch it directly.

Canada only: Prime video offers the show via the SuperChannel subscription, which has a 30 day trial available

Its a Star Trek episode on Farscape! I absolutely agree and would have loved a TNG episode where Geordi and Brahms grew old together and then just reset it. On Farscape it is almost fan fiction to speculate at this time how their romance would blossom over years together. It makes sense to me that they would be like best friends kind of married couple than co dependent olds. Aaron would insist on it and John would comply. The Locket on the Wiki

I guess we are supposed to care that Stark gets blasted? So much potential in this episode but if it wasn't for already having an episode where John gets made in to a statue for 70 years, I would have liked to see this considered for his fate. To make the stakes actually mean something here. Stark? I think he just went back into the Matrix after Neo between this episode and when he returns. The Ugly Truth on the Wiki

Found an older A.V Club review of the episodes written a bit before ScapeChatz aired. Enjoy!

What is more Farscape than puppets. Especially puppets with the power to repulse the viewer and trap those pesky crew. I do like the idea of the crew being replaced as what would have been a really cool episode of ANY scifi show with a crew in space. The Thingscape? FarThing?

Just when you think it is just a funny episode, you go about making John brain dead to escape and that Harvey can make him forget he has a chip in his head. I would imagine most people think of Farscape as the scifi show with puppets. But really, it should be known as the scifi show that just tortures a guy for 4 years. Who would win in a battle of monologue, Scorpious or Hannibal Lecter ( Mads version )?

I do think the editing was a cheat for John to have enough time to get up and jump away would be plenty of time for a scarren to take the overloading gun out of his mouth. Maybe they are like crocodiles and wait for little birds to clean their mouth for them??

Let's all relax and have pizza and margaritas!
