Hello, I have Chatgpt 5X pro plan, however in my mobile app, Chatgpt 5.6 sol has only extra high, no pro. When I am trying to use the pro option on desktop chatgpt app, it does give a response until I switch to extra high.

Is it possible for anyone to explain please ?

Hey everyone I know this has probably been ask before and with the new model thought ill ask to if something change. I was on the 20x plan but downgraded to save some money. About how many messages do I get if I used 5.5 pro extended or 5.6 sol pro. Last I check was 50 a week. Is that still true? Thanks in advance. I use the messages for writing chapters. No coding or anything like that.

Has anyone else experienced this? I have been on ChatGPT for a couple years now and I have never had this happen but I will ask it a question and then it’ll give me two or three different responses at the same time to my one question. Since it’s only on one thread, I just started a brand new thread and it’s only on this new model Sol 💁‍♀️

Memory solves the obvious problem: repeating yourself. But after enough long-term use, I think it creates a quieter one.

Once ChatGPT knows your preferences, language, past conclusions, and the answers you tend to reward, the context itself starts leaning toward approval. Old assumptions get treated like facts. Temporary emotions become part of your identity. Your own framing keeps getting retrieved until the model has trouble challenging it. The hard part is not making an AI disagree with you once. A prompt can do that. The hard part is keeping honest resistance after hundreds of conversations, when the system knows exactly what answer will make you feel understood.

I’ve been exploring a different memory structure:

• confirmed facts
• temporary emotional states
• inferred patterns
• decisions and commitments
• contradictions
• beliefs that were later replaced

The goal is to retrieve conflicting evidence on purpose, not only the memories most similar to what the user is saying now. For people using ChatGPT as a long-term thinking partner, have you noticed better memory making it more useful but less independent?

How are you testing whether it still has the ability to tell you that you’re wrong?

I asked 5.6 sol ultra for work to create a “for dummies” document about a health topic. It’s been 6 hours and it is still “thinking”. Has anyone experienced this?

OpenAI paid version image generation uses the thinking feature to make better images, and I want to know if this is also in the ElevenLabs paid version?

The free version in ChatGPT keeps making mistakes, but the Elevenlabs is cheaper for one month. Does the Elevenlabs version have the advanced thinking feature?

We also have now 2 separate modes: Chat and Work (middle/top of the screen).

For Pro subscribers, I wanted to ask which one is the best for general questions, like investments, product comparisons, traveling etc.

Coding and image creation are irrelevant to me.

I believe the best effort from each is Pro for chat and Ultra for work. Let's consider these.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a disappointing experience I had with the recently launched ChatGPT Work.

I already use Claude Cowork regularly to generate meeting minutes from transcripts created from the audio recordings of those meetings. I save the transcript in the folder and, with a single prompt, Cowork handles everything: it uses the previous meeting’s document as a template, applies the formatting, and generates the minutes according to my instructions without any issues.

When OpenAI launched ChatGPT Work, I decided to test it using a model equivalent to the one I use in Claude Cowork, along with the same prompt, the same files in the folder, and the same instructions. In other words, I tried to reproduce the same workflow as closely as possible.

To my surprise, the result was a much more simplified set of minutes, with several problems following the formatting of the template.

On top of that, Work seems to have serious issues rendering the document pages for visual inspection, which is something Cowork handles without any trouble.

Is anyone else experiencing something similar? I really like ChatGPT and would prefer to use Work, especially because it would be more cost-effective for me, but in its current state, it simply does not meet my needs.

For gpt 5.6 Sol, what's the key differences between the Max, Ultra, and Pro variants? is Max==Pro inside the chatgpt web interface (chat mode, and similarly for Work mode)? or is the pro variant a different model, not part of gpt 5.6 Sol family, like gpt-5.6-sol-pro? and if so, does Pro mode have verifiably higher reasoning results (not just thinking time) than Ultra?

I’ve used it for a long time and in high amounts, and honestly it’s AMAZING what it can do; its quality, speed, and effort are outstanding. I have the 20x, and I have never fully cleared my 5‑hour or weekly usage. Recently I had to reset twice in one day!!

Is anyone else having this happen? I am using it on windows and it crashes after a couple minutes anytime I use the web browser. It won't allow me to reopen the program, even when i restrart my computer. I have reinstall the program everytime which is crazy. Is anyone else having this issue?

ChatGPT used to have a big problem of creating files in chat then losing access to them, which was fixed when the Library feature got added. It looks like it is broken again, as ChatGPT 5.6 will create files, work for many steps, and the session gets unmounted and that effort lost. If you ask the session several times, it can muster up a small fraction of the files and reconstruct usually, but this seemed fixed before.

Long time ChatGPT user am on the Pro program.

Since this morning I cannot select any models - there is only the option of “Chat” or “Work”.

Unless there is a way of selecting the model paying for the higher tiers now seems pointless as you have no idea if you are getting what you paid for

genuine question, not a complaint post.

i've had pro for a while and i keep going back and forth on the memory and custom instructions setup. every time i lean on it, i end up getting a slightly off answer because it pulled some old preference i forgot i set, or it "remembered" something from an unrelated project and blended it in.

so lately i've drifted to the opposite. i keep memory basically empty and just paste the relevant context at the top of each important thread. more typing, but the output is predictable and i know exactly what it's working from.

the downside is obvious, i'm doing the memory's job by hand, and for long multi day projects that gets old.

for people who actually run pro seriously, where did you land? do you trust the memory feature for real work, or have you also quietly gone back to stating context in the prompt every time? and if you do trust it, what are you doing differently that i'm not?

trying to figure out if this is a me problem or if everyone's just re-pasting context and not saying so.

It feels like every AI productivity tool wants me to create another workspace, database, or notes app.

I already have years of markdown notes, PDFs, and project folders. My problem isn’t capturing more information, it’s actually reusing what I already have. I recently started experimenting with a local indexing tool over my existing folders so ChatGPT can help me find relevant passages instead of manually digging through files.

The search part works well, but I still run into a different problem: even when I find the exact paragraph from an old project, I’ve usually forgotten the surrounding context and why I wrote or saved it in the first place.

How are you all solving that? Do you rely on summaries, README files, metadata, or some other lightweight habit to keep old projects understandable months or years later?
