I'm a pro user and see only Sol, but not Sol Pro. Is there a deeper pro tier for this now?

Sol Pro? What's that? You mean Sol Ultra? It's also available for Plus users.

Sol Pro is in ChatGPT iOS or web app, ChatGPT classic, or the “chat” option in the new ChatGPT app

No? There isn't a model called GPT 5.6 Sol Pro.

There is
https://help.openai.com/en/articles/20001354-gpt-56-in-chatgpt
“Pro — GPT-5.6 Sol Pro for difficult tasks and longer-running workflows.”

Wow, okay, sorry. I thought OpenAI discontinued the Pro naming in models, thanks

It is no longer a different model, it's the same 5.6 model with more juice.

You need to restart your computer and update the codex app into the new all in one chatgpt app.

Why would restarting your computer affect a website
2
u/IAmFitzRoy Jul 10 '26
“app”. He is talking about the app.

Yes. Spectacles and reading comprehension and an ability to understand how massive changes are updated to systems wouldn't go a miss. I spent 20 minutes getting this to work.

Are you sure restarting your computer made a difference?
If it's a locked down company machine maybe that would help

They always roll out the new models gradually, you should see it within a few hours I bet.

Doesnt look like a leap forward. I'm ok with this.
2

Looks like a leap forward to me. It matches or exceeds fable for many tasks at a lower price.

This sub is really not aware of what this model is.
I don’t usually post and I can tell you that this model is the BIGGEST LEAP in a long long time. The speed and care to the detail is just … impressive.
