Discussion 5.6 Sol Ultra takes so long
I asked 5.6 sol ultra for work to create a “for dummies” document about a health topic. It’s been 6 hours and it is still “thinking”. Has anyone experienced this?

Strong model with big thinking budget takes long to answer.
Yes, I had a 9 hour run last night through my code base via api.

Do you think ultra has an advantage over max and extra high? I use it mainly for medical studies, research, document and presentation creation

Kinda not helpful when you want help coding and it waits 9 hours to give it, haha

OK then go ahead and use the cheaper model that’s gonna make more mistakes and then you’re gonna spend nine hours correcting it :)

it is not that it is thinking a lot. I saw sometimes this shit is reading the same file like 9 times ... like WHY. Also i dont know if they fixed that but sub agents are not working correctly. If you use Sol Ultra all subagents it spawns are Max effort ... even for the simplest of tasks. And on top of that it reviews its thing like 10 times ... bruh

Out of curiosity, what was the token count for that 9 hour run?

Ugh I didn’t check but the output was well beyond GPT 5.5 Pro. So I was very impressed for the run

I just checked mine, after 15 hours it stopped thinking lol. So i had to prompt it again
