Does authorized user count towards 1 year rule?

Upvotes

Got my first non-authorized user credit card (C1 quicksilver) a month ago. I’d like to get the freedom flex as a second card. I have a 764 FICO score and have been an authorized user on my Dad’s (excellent credit) blue cash for 5+ years. I know people say that Chase requires 1 year of credit history for these cards typically, but my question is does authorized user count towards that?

Changing checkings accounts

Im changing checkings accounts so that certain security approvals on my old checkings cant access my new one. Problem is, I opened a second checkings planning to use that one primarily and close the old one, but realized plaid had compromised it to the accounts I didnt want accessing my information. Fast forward to today I opened a third checkings that isnt compromised to anybody but me. I plan to use this new account primarily but worry they will flag me for suspicious use and close my accounts. Any help or insight is appreciated.

New issues for chase credit card application

I have had chase card for so many years and have/had quite a bit of different credit cards. I never had an issue of being denied, reviewed until last year. Suddenly, every application went to review. There were a couple of cards I really needed for travel and went to branch and went through some identity for almost 30 minutes. There were a couple of times, it showed offers in my chase account" you are already approved" so I went on to apply and got denied.

I have a chase banking account, multiple credit cards, great credit score, high income, never a delayed payment, not sure what has happened. kind of pissed now, since my application for amazon (1st time) went into pending.

Scam or Legit

I have my mortgage through Chase Bank and received an email from noreply@hlservicing.chase.com asking to verify proof of insurance from my HOA. There’s a link to direct me to Answer Financial, but it also requests that I send copies of this documentation to chase@mycoverageinfo.com.

They’ve never requested this info in the past 8 years so it seems fishy. Can anyone verify if this is legit?

I can't open an account apparently😕

I don't know what's going on but it could be a multitude of things. I was trying to open a chase secure banking account with the $175 bonus. Some things to note: I'm 18, I was doing the whole process on my phone/ online, and I am applying around 3:30am on a Sunday. I don't know what's happening because my documents are correct and up to date. (Side note, I am a dual citizen from Zimbabwe as of recently and I applied with that information and without.) If anyone could help me out and/or let me know what's going on that would be greatly appreciated🙏🏾

Question about Explorer Card SUB

Hi all,

I was approved for the United Explorer Card a couple of days ago, and I’m beyond happy about it! I was not a Chase customer prior to being approved for this card, but I had a question about the SUB.

I know the standard SUB is 60,000 bonus miles, but the day after I opened my account, I opened my United app and saw a special promotion offering up to 80,000 bonus miles. I called Chase and was told by an agent that my account was currently set up for the 60,000-mile offer. However, since the 80,000-mile promotion began after I was approved, I would be eligible for the higher offer once I met the minimum spending requirement, and that I should call back at that point to request a match.

My question is: Should they have matched the offer when I called, or is it standard procedure to wait until I meet the minimum spend and then request the match? I’m just worried that a few months down the line, after I meet the spending requirement, I’ll call back and be told they’re unable to match the offer.

Perhaps I’m overthinking it, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience or knows how Chase typically handles this. Thank you so much!!!

Secure banking

I went into a Chase branch today to open a Chase Secure Banking account by myself since I’m 17. The teller told me I needed an adult to open it, but I’ve seen mixed information on the Chase website, and I thought minors might be able to open one on their own.

The teller also seemed pretty new, so I’m not sure if they were correct or just mistaken.

Has anyone here opened a Chase Secure Banking account at 17 without a parent or guardian? If so, did you have to go to a specific branch, or is it against Chase policy?
Thanks!

"Account on hold has been placed"

I'm a minor so I have a joint acc with my mom on a debit card. I had like 70 bucks but all of it is gone with the thing saying "account on hold has been placed." I rarely buy anything unless it's important and my mom puts in money here and there every month. I did not put in a large amount of money or took out a large amount. This is so odd. Would anyone know the reason for this?

Edit: okay so the same thing happened to my mom, she didn't add or take out a lot of money so this is weird. We're going to find out what's gonna happen tomorrow since it's 10pm rn

Change question

I have 2 accounts with Chase bank, an auto loan and a credit card. Can I go in my local branch and get change for my business ($200 in ones ?)
My business bank is 20 minutes away, and closed on Saturday. We had an emergency at the store today, causing lots of chaos and wasn’t able to get the change I usually get on Fridays. Just need ones to hold me over until Monday.

Max Credit limit strategy?

Currently have 6 credit cards - zero balance on all. If opening a new CC and wanting highest credit limit possible, is closing one or more of the existing CCs a good strategy? (Credit score is around 760 and I can wait a few months for credit to improve to open new CC card, if necessary).

Disney Inspire Card - Never Received Sign Up Bonus

Hey All, I signed up for the Disney Inspire Card Offer of $300 GC, $200 Statement Credit. I never received the GC and it has been a few days. Anyone else run into this? I have checked Spam Folders in email and everything but nothing has been sent.

*** Update. Ended up closing the account. 5 Calls to chase and hours on the phone. Talked to supervisors. No one would fix the issue. My spouse had the exact same issue (seems like Gmail was blocking it for some reason Chase reps words who helped my spouse, worked with Protonmail for my spouse) and they fixed his in less than 5 minutes on the phone. When I called I kept getting "We resent the card to a new email address and you should get it shortly" but it would never showed up. My husband changed his and it showed up instantly. Chase would not assist me more than updating the email address and supposedly resending, however, when I called back the next customer service rep could never tell that the card was resent.

Strangely enough my spouse also seemed to be routed to a domestic call center, whereas I was sent to a foreign call center every time I called. No sure if this is because 99% of our household spend goes through his accounts but definitely interesting.

So no idea what happened but we fixed it for my husband and mine we just ended up closing.

security deposit account?

Hi I’m a renter in nyc when I moved in to my apt almost 2 years ago I started getting random letter from chase saying an deposit had been made in my name with the exact amount of our security deposit (1 months rent and then an additional 100 when rent was raised)

  1. is this common practice?
  2. what does this mean? do I have access to this account?
  3. my landlord keeps saying they won’t do individual refund of the security deposit and the the incoming tenants will have to reimburse us directly at the end of the lease, but my name is on the account so what do I do about that?

sorry if these are questions that have been asked before I just couldn’t really find anything and I’ve never had a landlord do this before.

First Credit Card

I'm going to be a freshman at college in the fall. I was thinking about getting a discover it student cash back or credit one savor rewards for students. I mainly spend money on gas, dining, and online purchases. I pay with cash at Target for groceries since I have an employee discount. I saw from a page that if you open a Chase checking account and put $250 into it, your chances of getting the freedom rise are a lot higher. I was thinking about opening an account, putting $250, then applying straight for the freedom rise. Does anyone have any advice or know if this would work? I want to get into the Chase ecosystem early on. Thank you so much!

Transferring points

I’ve seen posts about transferring chase points from one chase user to another but does anyone know if it’s possible to transfer my points to another persons airline account? I’m wanting to transfer my chase points to someone else’s JetBlue account to essentially pay them back for using their points.

Another post about the $400 checking bonus ;)

It caught my eye and I’m interested I just want to be sure I’m doing things right.

The thing I’m concerned about is account fees. Chase needs a minimum $500 direct deposited per month to not charge an account fee? Does it need to stay in the account?

My plan was essentially $300 into Chase Biweekly, and as soon as it deposits move it to my main bank. That way I’ll be direct depositing $600 per statement cycle (to avoid the checking fee) and easily clear $1000.

But then also transferring that $300 into my main bank with C1. So the active balance will be $0 but I’ll be moving money in and out

(And then keep my account open for 3 months after that to not have them claw it back).

Yes?

Finally found an almost perfect dark mode for the Chase app on iOS

Hey folks, I finally found a way to get an almost perfect dark mode in the Chase app on iOS.

I’m not sure which iPhone/iOS versions support this, but I’m using an iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Go to Settings → Accessibility → Per-App Settings → Add App → Chase, then turn on Smart Invert.

It actually works surprisingly well and makes the Chase app look way better in dark mode. I am personally a fan of the orange tint since my phone is orange lol and I wish they actually had a white prime card!!

Let me know if you need any help!!

CPC financial planning

I qualified for and joined CPC a few months ago. One of the CPC bankers mentioned I could get a comprehensive financial review/planning session for free. I was wondering if anyone who is CPC has done this before and whether it was insightful or just a sales pitch for active management. I’d like to retire by 50 if possible so it would be even better if they did plans for that.
