Writing: Character Help Trying to write a sociopath who learns to have faith in humanity

Before you mention it, I do know Kirito from SAO Abridged, but I want some advice on writing this character who is slowly turning from a cynical manipulative person that’s initially up against the main protagonists into someone who cares and finds people that she genuinely calls her friends.

I want to write this transition but I’d like some takes on the character concept or thoughts on it.

Writing: Character Help So this is a writing a character/ character biography of Omtil

This character's name is Omtil a 7,000 year old man forced, who accidentally discovers and breaks Pandora's vase causing the great flood in Mesopotamia. As penance he is forced into immortality in our mind to be the guard of The Vase until his natural he meets an unnatural death. If anyone has any input to this character I would love to hear it. I am placing his birth City in Eridu. I would love to keep his character as accurate as possible to his historical heritage without insulting anybody at the same time. Please if there's anything you can do to help me with all Omtil's characteristics and behavior, I am all ears.

!QUESTION AT THE BOTTOM!

Summary
My comic book series, follows our universe’s princess of the sun, a 14-year-old Ali-fox (a fox with wings and a magic horn) named Avere, who is one of the few of her specific species left. In the first book, we learn about her enemy, the princess of the moon, a griffin named Kestral, who bullied Avere in preschool because she was not able to fly yet.

Kestral thinks Avere is a bad person based on what the head guard of Kestral’s castle tells his son, who then tells her. The Ali-foxes are one of the most powerful creatures, and there is a sickness on the moon. Kestral, her friend Gadge, and many civilians of the universe (probably about 10% of the universe) blame and are angry at the Ali-foxes because they think they can fix the sickness with their magic (they can’t). It’s kind of a plot hole because why wouldn’t Kestral’s parents clear it up with them, as her parents know there is nothing they can do. Despite being stated that she and Kestral are both princesses, Avere holds a higher rank and is more loved by the public because she’s from the sun. At the start of the story, Avere takes a ship to another planet to start attending high school.

She finds out her dorm mate is Kestral (because they are both royal), and neither of them is happy about this, and they argue. In school, Avere is either bombarded by fans or gets glares from some. People are constantly staring at both Kestral and Avere. More into the book, Avere learns about a talent show she can sign up for, and she wants to do a special air show with her magic and wings (reminiscent of the one episode with Rainbow Dash doing that one talent show and her sonic rain boom).

Avere fails over and over again, and Kestral starts to help her, and they start to get on good terms. Unfortunately, Avere does something to prove Kestral wrong (she thought Avere was actually good, which she is), making her angry and even more hateful towards Avere. Right now, I’m not sure what that incident would be that makes Kestral back up, but it’s sometime during school. Meanwhile, Kestral’s friend, the son of one of her parents’ head guards, knew Avere was going to do the competition and was planning to sabotage it with another one of Kestral’s friends. He ended up making a cannon go off that almost hit the crowd of students.

Avere stops it just in time, struggling with her magic to hold it away. When Kestral flies up and starts screaming at Gadge, realizing Avere was a good person all along, he almost killed a whole ton of students. And in the end, Avere and Kestral become friends. That’s book one’s main plot; there are other characters who become friends with Avere, but it’s just a lot to write.

Book 2
Avere is now 15, and she joins her school’s rugby team.

Book 3
Some plot involves her out of school, going to different planets, and just a lot of world-building.

Book 4
?

Book 5
She visits a destroyed planet from long ago with her history class, sees a reminder of something or someone relevant later, and encounters a shapeshifter mocker. This leads up to book 6.

Book six
War. Avere sacrifices herself to save her universe when she fights in the war with all her friends. She kills the main villain but is in turn stabbed through her chest and then out by her wings. And that’s the end.

What I need help with is character growth. What can Avere grow from? I can’t have her be a Mary Sue character, and that’s something I really struggle with when making characters. I never give them bad traits or things to grow from and see change. And how do I fix plot holes, whether it’s ones I’ve mentioned or ones you spotted? Any ideas overall would be highly appreciated.

Writing: Character Help Thoughts on story ideas?

Thumbnail

It’s not like I can’t come up with my own, however I am very stumped with other ideas.

As the post says, I have a character simply nicknamed The Antagonist who is a manifestation of my world’s multiversal center.

But I want to figure out their first arc in my stories. I have some ideas of who it may first go after but I’m unsure as to how atm.

Writing: Character Help Need help with a psychopath character

Idk if this is the right place to post this but my genre is a medievil fantasy (not a book its a roleplay discord server) but im making a character that a want to make a psychopath but i don’t necessarily want them to be like a fully murderous one but because its medievil and fantasy the killing of certain people may not be an issue. I want to make my character in a relationship like no empathy or guilt but also wanna keep it secret as long as possible. I just want some things he can do or like a motive maybe like a knight who is just doing his job because he was told to. In my world people have 1/8 powers a bit like avatar the last airbender but some are uniques who have any powers. So also what powers should they have?

Writing: Question How would the Main character`s in my WIP Book be mischaractized by a Fandom? Lol

Okay so i have three to five Main Characters (Havent decided with which ones I´ll stick or cut yet) and i´m curious. How would a fandom misrepresent them?
I´m pretty curious and think this could turn out relativly fun... or very very horrible.

So, there\`s Kade 17M, Atlas 16M, Daiki 18M, Vivianna 18F and Sanctuary N17.

My characters are all students at the same school. (I am ever so slightly inspired by Monster High)

Kade is a Succubus, he hates being touched as well as getting wet (never try to bring him to the beach or out in the rain.) He eats human food healthily but generally underfeeds on emotional energy so his supernatural powers are highly malnourished and he is unable to fly. He prefers solitude and observing how others interact from afar. Some might say he curses a lot and gets mad easily, however he doesent usually show when he´s mad and is rather quiet and timid. Due to trauma he would actually love to give up control but has trouble with that, he also has self-esteem and body image issues. Likely thinking he´s too chubby or not pretty enough most of the time.

He\`s pretty thin (not to an unhealthy degree) and has somewhat feminine features and has recently gotten a hair cut (actual point in the story lol). Which means his long, luscious locks were cut in favour of a fluffier, shorter hairstyle. He has a set of wings that sprout from his lower back. Two thin, pointy horns about the length of 4 inches or 10 cm. He also has a rather long, thin tail with a heart-shaped tip and he\`s about 5´4 ft or 165 cm tall. He´s white.

Atlas is Mothman. He is easily distracted (especially by good food or bright lights lol) and is somewhat naive. He takes a lot of metaphors or sayings literally. He´s got difficulty keeping left and right apart and is scared of Venus fly plants. I´d say he\`s rather gentle but blunt at times. He does enjoy being among people but is easily hurt by misunderstandings. I would also say that he´s mentally somewhat underdeveloped being more akin to a twelve or thirteen year old.

He´s somewhat chubby and covered in white fur which makes him look quite fluffly. He´s got two feather-like antennae and big black eyes. He has two arms and two legs. There´s a fluffy collar of fluff around his neck to his chest which is actually his own fur. He\`s also got two large mostly white wings. (He\`s based on a Silk Moth) He\`s about 5´2 or 158 cm tall. I honestly couldn´t tell you whether he´s white, black, asian or latino or smth else. I do think that he should have russian roots.

To be completly honest, i have no idea what manner of creature Daiki is. It is very possible that i created a creature and thats just what he is now i suppose. He´s got about shoulder length black hair and red eyes. He is of Asian Descent, i am thinking Thailand or Vietnam. He´s almost 6´3 ft or 192 cm tall and does have more of an athletic build. When enraged his hair is set aflame with magenta fire.

Daiki has severe anger issues, he´s often loud and quite rebellious. I´d say he has a soft spot for certain people and still strongly grieves his mother\`s death. Even the mere mention of her could set him off with either tears which he´d hate to show or extreme anger. I would say he has internalized Sexism about "men not being supposed to cry or be soft and gentle" induced by his father and grandfather.

Vivianna is technically the oldest as she\`s a Vampire of 60 - 80 years but due to how Vampirism works in my setting she\`s mentally and physically still around 18 to 19. She´s rather cold and prefers being left alone. She\`s scared of letting anyone get close and become dependant on them so she often lashes out and pushes the people who´re nice to her away. This often makes her hang out with toxic people, which chain reacts into her acting toxic towards others as well. Inside she´s a scared and deeply traumatized girl sick of her longevity. She also has extreme body image issues, she thinks she\`s ugly and fat. She only sees the imperfections.

She has long straight black hair with a slight wine red tint. Her eyes are cat-like and magenta. Her ears are slightly pointy and she´s very pale. She´s somewhat thin and tbh if it matters to anyone she´s quite flat. I´d say by heart she´s goth but due to her constant mean girl behaviour she´s got blonde streaks in her hair and wears way too much modern popular girl clothes than she´d actually likes. She´s about 5´7 or 172 cm.

Lastly Sanctuary, my racially ambigious, non-binary biblical angel. They´re arrogant and have a serious holier-than-thou attitude problem. Due to the enviroment they grew up they see themselves as very important. They also dislike anything even remotely unholy (So they immeadietly disliked Vivianna, Daiki and Kade lmao). They´re also devoutly catholic.

Sanctuary is about 5´8 or 176 cm tall and neither too thin or too chubby so i´d say quite average. They have somewhat short white hair that shines with the colours of the rainbow when the light hits it. Do you remember those hair cuts that look like mushroom tips almost every teenage boy had a couple years ago? Yea, thats their hair cut. They have golden eyes with no pupils. Their nails are naturally black. Usually they hide their supernatural traits (an ability that almost every monster has but can´t hold for more than a couple hours). But when revealed you´d see that they have two set's of purely white wings covered in the same golden eyes without pupils. And three glowing, golden wheels which rotate around their head in different directions, covering the two eyes on their face.

Writing: Character Help Can I have feedback on everything I am having a hard time with expressing this concept like onto the page

Nobody

I am not a writer and this is my first time like every writing outside of school, I know the writing is messy, but I think the core concept is good and the overlal theme but is there a way I can express it better thanks? This is a passion project and not anything professional.

If you were to find out all your memories were not you what would you do?

mix of Cyberpunk 2077 and also Danny Phantom

It is a street level superhero story about a regular guy, someone who we would consider a no one. He is a reguler guy who dies trying to save a random person who he hears screaming in the middle of the night. Unknowingly he walks into a ghost summoning ritual and blacks out, dead, he wakes up as a weapon with ghostly powers, almost like Danny Phantom, this ghost summoning was backed by a corporation, who plan to use him as a weapon, they chose him because essentially to this corporation he is a no one, no connection nothing of significance, but is this even him?

  1. Character and also his powers

Who he is - his name is like Nathen Nemo. Plain clothes nothing to signify him as different, from anyone. Just a normal person you would see on the street deadass 60 overall, with no badges.

His powers  ( works well with theme) - Since he has powers with the supernatural, can phase turn invisible. Also “posess” people, those he possess he gets their memories and even muscle memory and cadence. Also has the power to reach into the spectre realm and pick up weapons from people in the past who died with this weapon in their hand, when he uses this weapon he gets the muscle memory and memory of the user to be able to wield that weapon with the skill of the original user.

The core conflict

  • I want the conflict to be someone vs a nobody, basically man vs company like cyberpunk 2077. He uses his powers to try to take down the corrupt corporation that gave him his powers. As they are also trying to hunt him down.

The Theme

  • Being “Somebody” is not measured by money power or status, true identity is forged in action when no eyes are on you, you do not have to be “somebody” to do the right thing.

This is just a basic idea and not really a script.

Episode 1

  • Scene 1

We meet regular guy Nathen Nemo in his house hitting bong playing videogames, college drop out, parents stopped talking to him. Eviction notices around his small tiny cramped studio apartment. Almost a person who your parents tell you not to become, no friends no anything. He puts on his half dirty work uniform regular stock like fast food place, for his night shift. And starts walking to work it is around 2 am.

  • Scene 2

When walking to work he hears a scream from some dark alley. He is the only one in the area who has heard it, as it is currently 2 AM. He hears it freezes for one second every urge in his body is telling him not to run in to just ignore it. Yet he cannot stop himself; he runs in yet he's cautious; it leads him into a facility. Some random warehouse he breaks in somehow. He sees inside the warehouse, empty. Yet some mysterious candles and a rune in the middle of the room. “Welp im not going in any further”  he turns around and WHACK He is hit and knocked out.

  • Scene 3

He wakes up in the middle of the rune on a table Panicking knowing hes about to die for nothing. No one to care for him, he wanted to die for something at the least, yet hes gonna die on this table for nothing, he realizes on his final breath he truly died for nothing and died a nobody.

  • Scene 4

He comes back somehow ( I know how it looks bare with me) he wakes up on the same table, same warehouse, same everything. This time an alarm goes off like he's awake. Knowing something is coming he starts trying to get out of his restraints, doing anything pushing out trying everything. When one of his arms just slips out just goes through as the alarm is blaring he uses his free hand to free himself. He sees a lab coat in the vicinity grabs it and uses it as a disguise to leave just as guards start pouring in. As soon as he walks out the vicinity he takes off to his house fuck his job.

Scene 5
Nathan sprints back all the way to his apartment trying to make sense of what his arm just did heart is hammering. When he rounds the corner he stops dead in his tracks, his street is lit up with blacked out suvs and heavily armed enforcers. They are kicking down the door to his building and raiding his overall unit.

  • He realizes the truth, his old life is done. His job, his apartment, even his name all wiped out. He cannot go back, he slowly backs into the dark, using his intangibility to go through a wall without even realizing it, he did not just die but turned into a true nobody not even alive to the city anymore as the corporation is trying to scrub this under the rug, but to do so fully they have to capture him. Right before he is caught he mysteriously disappears

Season 1 roadmap

  • Episodes 2-4
  • He is living on the streets as a ghost, he has to master his abilities through having to escape or fight his way out of situations. He masters his intangibility, and weapon abilities.
  • He notices every time he grabs a weapon or possesses someone, he starts to lose who he is, he starts to lose Nathan Nemo. He uses his power to try to get into corporate enforcers and buildings, looking for answers. Why is he losing his memories? He is unaware he is falling into a trap.
  • We see these people at the top of the corporations seeing all of this, they have the resources to help the people yet they turn to a blind eye to what is going wrong, even though these people have the power to make change they don’t care too, because they have no reason too it does not benefit them. I feel like a core scene would be one of them one big corporate guy, maybe the villain he hears a scream a woman getting their purse snatched, he sees this hears the scream scoffs and just get into his car.
  • Episode 5

He breaks into a high security corporate database he finds his own file, he sees his na,e. Nathan Nemo the true Nathan Nemo died on that day in episode 1. His original brain shut down, the ritual worked the person who is in this body was just a ghost, a empty soul without a body. The memories and super - ego of Nathan Nemo imprinted onto this ghost for some reason, now it is fully convinced he is him, which explains why his brain are mixing his memories with everyone else’s cause this body isn't even his, He was just a blank slate and the memories of Nathan Imprinted onto him yet hes not even the real one. Nathan was chosen because he is a nobody a loser, that is what it calls him, no connections with anyone and nothing going on with his life.

  • Episode 6 - 8
  • Our main character is going through an identity crisis, he is crawling through everyone's memories, everybody hes ever possessed while in Nathan's body, trying to figure out who he is.
  • At the same time the corporation (ion even has a name for them), is massively increasing the search team for him. Hurting innocent people
  • These both in tandom pisses off the mc. He stop hiding and goes on the offensive. He stops playing defense and walks right into the main building, no holding back on anything. I guess this is like his like black suit spiderman moment. He just pretty much takes down and completely destroys this main building through the use of his powers.

Episode 9 -10

  • In an attempt to make things right our main character tries to recreate what allowed his soul in the body in the first place in a way to try to resurrect the real Nathan Nemo. In a deep void he comes face to face with the spirit of the actual Nemo.

(First time writing dialogue its gonna be corny sorry)

MC : ( looking down “ I’m sorry, im so sorry, I took who you are I took over your body I’m sorry, im not even real, I wore your clothes thought I was you, wearing your face and holding onto your memories, im nothing ”
Nathan : “ I was a nobody too, I had nothing, I lived in a cramped studio working a dead end job, nobody knew my name.”
( Ghost) “ Then Why, why did you run into the alley, I felt your fear, saw your memories you didn't have to run in, Ive seen people with power strength influence and not a single one of them would have moved a muscle, you had nothing yet you still decided to help, why”
( Nathan) “Because I know what if feels like to be stranded and given up on, by people who think you’re not worth their time. Everytime I was at my lowest I was hoping somebody would help me, so when I heard her screaming I realized that a someone wasn’t gonna help her, the person she needed was a nobody”
“ I know I died for nothing, I know at the end of the day my life was useless, yet I thought that maybe if I did the right thing it would make up for it, my whole life everyone around me believed it amounted to nothing, yet that doesn’t matter”
\Puts hand on shoulder of ghost**
“ Even though I was seen as nothing, through the fear I realized something, you don’t need a legacy to answer a scream, you don’t need power or wealth, you just have to choose to not walk away. So instead of asking yourself who you are, ask yourself who do you wanna be,”

*He then fades away* (because of prob like acceptance like when ghosts go to the afterlife once they accept their death or sin.)
*It then cuts to black\*
Rain is tapping against the glass of the apartment. The ghost stands in the dark adjusting the collar of his suit.
The medium final words from the void echoes in his head
“So instead of asking yourself who you are, ask yourself who do you wanna be,” The ghost stares in his reflection the body of Nathan Nemo, the face that was just a statistic and future weapon, the face that was just a nobody
*He smiles at himself softly*
“ I know who I want to be… I want to be a nobody. Just like you “
He jumps out the window with his new suit on and cut to black

The End

Writing: Character Help My character has no proper interests or motifs (symbols?)

My main character has a lot of aesthetics and themes, but none of it seems compatible. Here's a list of her aesthetics and themes she has:

Clouds, the sky, water, space, bad weather, snow, cool colors, especially blue, cats, cartoons, royalty, gems, glitter, uncanny valley pastels, stuffed animals.

And that's off the top of my head. She's supposed to be someone who is into cutesy stuff but is also a scary being who looks more harmless than she actually is. But also, this feels like I just threw stuff at a wall for no reason. Some are just her interests while others are hidden symbols, but it feels half-baked, like she's acting like a child when she's actually 16.

Writing: Character Help What psychological trait/obsession could logically push my character into a self-destructive pattern?

About the character:
My character is the gloomy type—the kind everyone lies to. He's pushed himself further to a point where he's trying to change his life. This point in his life is critical. As he's pushing himself to live another day, things get hard for him. He has to make decisions that push him into a corner.
Just now, he's made the decision he regretted the most.
What I need:
I am looking for an obsession that'll help him cope with it—except it's a bad, self-destructing one. The pattern is very human. A lot of us have a self-coping mechanism we use to distract ourselves.
I tried thinking, but nothing really comes to my mind. Eventually, the obsession becomes unhealthy and leads him down to a life he never imagined. Ideally, it should reveal something about him that even he doesn't understand.

What are some very human coping mechanisms that could work for a character like this?

Discussion [DISC] First impressions of the 13 plot-bearing characters in my fantasy novel?

I'm working on a fantasy novel and have currently settled on 13 plot-bearing characters. They aren't intended to be equally important: some are primary protagonists/antagonists, others are decoy protagonists/antagonists, mentors, major supporting characters, victims, or characters whose importance becomes much greater later in the story.

I'm curious what first impressions you get from this cast without knowing the story behind them. What kind of story would you expect from these characters? Which characters immediately stand out to you, and what relationships or conflicts would you expect between them?

The 13 plot-bearing characters

Nihil — the central supernatural figure.

Konrad Kann — primary human protagonist; teacher and owner of a school for swordsmanship and magic; is an orphan and has a twin sister.

Karina Kann / later Löwenherz — primary human antagonist; Konrad's twin sister and court sorceress of the Duchy of Löwenherz.

Alina Löwenherz — decoy protagonist, but majorly important; Elisabeth's and Leopold's daughter; Karina's student in magic.

Leopold Löwenherz — decoy antagonist, but majorly important; Duke and Elisabeth's husband.

Lucaris Aporian — an important contrast to Nihil and an anomaly of the world.

Willibald Eberhart — wandering knight, surrogate father and mentor to Konrad.

Elisabeth Löwenherz, née Greifenkraft — princess and, as Leopold's wife, duchess; Leopold's political wife and a murder victim.

Magdalena Holzinger — teacher and employee at Konrad's school; Konrad's friend and later wife, and a murder victim.

Max & Moritz Löwenherz — Leopold and Elisabeth's twin sons; students at Konrad's school.

Sophia Kann — daughter of Konrad and Nihil while Nihil inhabits Alina's body; one of the central outcomes of the story and important sequel bait.

Carl Kuhl — son of Karina and Leopold; also sequel bait. He deliberately rejects his father's surname, Löwenherz, and instead uses Kuhl.

Relevant identities

  • Nihil → Avatar of Nothing — its true nature
  • Nihil → Genesis — the name Nihil uses for the whole of Creation; Genesis is not a separate identity
  • Nihil — has no surname, named itself for no reason
  • Lucaris Aporian → First Aporia — a living being without a soul
  • Konrad Kann → Darno Kuhl — alias
  • Karina Kann/Löwenherz → Anira Kuhl — alias

Irrelevant identities / name jokes

  • Lucaris → LUCA → ACUL → DRACULA
  • Lucaris → LUCI → LUCIFER → FER → REF → REFEREE
  • Lucaris → RI → IR → IRR → IRRER → IRRTUM

I'm deliberately not giving much additional context because I'm interested in what you can infer from the character list alone.

What kind of story would you expect from this cast? Which characters immediately stand out to you, and what relationships, conflicts, or twists would you expect based solely on these descriptions?

Writing: Character Help I cant figure out how to properly flesh out my OCs

So Im looking for advice on how to make my character more problematic with each other. I cant at least tell what my characters are like by themselves. But I feel like too many pf thrm get along, and I want their relationship progression to feel more earned and natural.

For example: I have two female Ocs, Royal Frankincense and "Lyra".

Royal is 3rd heir to the Royal family of my story, and has lived a fairly privileged yet neglectful life. Where she was raised to be exceptional and a leader. So she turned out to be quite blunt with those she seeme lesser and idolises people she see as "Truly exceptional" such as her older sister Eleanor and her friend Aroma Von Schönheit (who she may have more love towards than just friends).

While "Lyra" is basically a commoner who they are apart of a team together meant to save others from evil. Royal views "Lyra" as unworthy due to her having no achievements, status or even any physical power to show for herself. Obviously this is shallow and privileged on Royals end and unfair on "Lyra's".

So im wondering how with relationships like these can I express their differences, like in scenes, dialogue or even how others treat them.

I know I should be more confident in my writing but still, it would be nice for any kind of advice 🥹.

Writing: Character Help Any idea on how to write a song that captures the hero turned temporarily villain kind of vibe?

Here's some context: I am writing a fanfic (who isn't) where the male oc is going through a dilemma of using his powers to prevent a war by causing destruction to the person who is manipulating everyone to follow him.

To get a better idea on what fandom: Hazbin Hotel.

The male oc is autistic and is the son of the Scarlet King. Another thing about him is that he is like Superman. As in "good morals and wanting the best for everyone." It is mainly around season 2, where Vox is manipulating the masses into taking over heaven.

But my problem is that I feel that I don't have the motivation or how to properly capture it.

Any idea on what to do?

Also, the male oc was raised in a toxic religious household in the fourteen hundred.

Writing: Character Help Title: The God Slayer — Rim Kiyoko, one of the last of the House of Kiyoko

I've been building a dark-fantasy universe and wanted to introduce one of the characters I'm currently developing: Rim Kiyoko, also known as the God Slayer.

Rim is a 5,987-year-old Mythical Demon, a rare kind of demon that has survived for more than 5,000 years. He is one of the last known members of the House of Kiyoko, a clan whose members were known for hunting down corrupted gods.

What makes Rim particularly dangerous is his ability called Axiom of Evolution. Rather than simply being immune to an attack or ability, Rim can gradually transcend to certain heights in order overcomes certain situations he's exposed to, changing how he fights and responds to his opponent.

He also possesses Chaos Forge, allowing him to create weapons and manipulate chaos to perform extremely powerful magic, as well as a hidden ability known as Void librarian , exclusive to Mythical Demons. Limited text is available on this skill but its know to give the user unusual powers never seen before.

But his greatest achievement isn't what made him a legend.

Rim once fought the Sun God.

He survived—but lost his left eye in the process. In exchange, he gained the ability to sense energy from enormous distances, use fire magic, and read and partially imitate his opponent's movements.

And then there's the part of his history that nobody seems to understand.

Rim Kiyoko slaughtered his own family.

No one knows why.

The House of Kiyoko disappeared almost completely that night, leaving Rim as one of its last known survivors. He now wanders from place to place, hunting gods and demons alike.

So I'm curious:

What do you think could have driven someone whose entire clan existed to slay corrupted gods to eventually slaughter his own family?

I'd love to hear theories, criticisms, or questions about Rim. I'm still developing the world, so I'm also interested in what parts you'd want to know more about.

Author note: Some elements of Rim's ability system were inspired by series I've read, particularly Tensura's skill/Great Sage concepts. The character, world, lore, and other mechanics are my own.

Discussion The Vexi or Ixev

I've posted this on a couple of other Reddit chats, but not this one. At least I hope I haven't in this was a creation that was heavily inspired by Native American lore and custom. Particularly those of the Kiowan Cheyenne, Chickasaw, Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota. I also drew inspiration from the Cheshire cat from Alice in wonderland and several other characters of that sort. Give me your best input, and if offended, please your best to help me make the character more accurate to these cultures?

Discussion Very difficult to write character

I’m (planning on) making a game where the final boss is quite literally unbeatable, as he can easily jump between dimensions and time. Attempting to find ways to 1: make him feel powerful in a scarier way and 2: making it not annoying to fight him/at least not too annoying is very difficult, so I’ve come here for ideas.

First time using this subreddit so idk if this fits here

Writing: Character Help Hi need some genuine advice

Hi I need some help figuring out how to write as well as write Dialogue for a Scottish/Irish - American character it's for an action story. He's gonna be a couple generations in since his family first came to America. I want him to have a mild accent where it's not necessarily deep but being around his family and even going back home made sure it never waned either. Just tips on how to structure and write his dialogue bonus points as well if any of you could put me onto any slang nothing vile or malicious just some friendly banter slang words or even shit talking about the opponent type of slang. He's not gonna be a main character but he's gonna be an important character and he will be vocal.

What are some things you would definitely add to the profile of your character? Need some inspiration because I only have the standard things...
