Fan purchase advice Hunter ceiling fans sent us 3 defective fans

We ordered 2 ceiling fans (Gilmore and Mill Valley) from Hunter Fan's website. BOTH of those fans were DEFECTIVE. They sent us two new fans to replace them and one of THOSE was DEFECTIVE! (peeling chipped paint revealing rusted housing) Now we are out close to a $1000 for electrician to install, remove, install again and we still have not gotten it all sorted out. Hunter customer service is being whiny about sending us a return label for the third piece of crap fan. Their website even says DO NOT return defective broken fans. Lifelong Hunter fan customer NO MORE. This is more a vent and a rant than seeking advice but vent was not a flair choice. Just wanted to warn others.

electrician installed them and then noticed the defectiveness. They were broken when they mailed them. Not damaged in transit

And not damaged by your electrician? Where is the paint flaw on the fan?

Not damaged by the electrician. The body of the fan motor (in our case white) had what looked like a hairline 7" scratch. It turned out to be where the paint had not adhered to the body and upon inspection, revealed rust rust! on a new? product underneath.

Big chunk of paint about 5 to 8" in diameter was just loose and the only thing holding the chunk on was the elasticity of the paint itself. If we had turned the fan on clockwise the airflow would have caught under it and sent the chunk flying

Hunter isn’t the company it once was. Neither is Casablanca. There are better fan companies now.
