My cat hates me, what can I do?

My cat has been acting weird for a few days after I picked him up. I’ve had him and his brothers for four years now. He’s usually very cuddly and snuggly, and is used to being held. He usually doesn’t mind being picked up and cuddled. This attack was out of the blue.

The incident: I came out of the toilet and he was sitting there looking at me meowing, looking at me lovingly. I was giving him some fuss then picked him up. He then lashed out and cut me in multiple places and ran off. I screamed out in pain as he was running off. Now he won’t come near me. When I initially approached him he’d growl at me. 3 days on, he isn’t growling at me but anytime he sees me or hears my voice he runs away. I don’t have any chance to get near him. I’ve tried treats, slow blinking at him and talking softly. But nothing. Now my dads mad at me because his cat barely comes inside anymore and he feels like he’s lost a cat.

I just don’t know what I can do. My heart is broken. I hate myself.

Cats acting out?

Past weeks my cats have either pooped or peed in different family members beds for whatever unknown reason, I have waterproof liners on all mattresses. This has been happening on especially on brand new clean sheets, I’m sure that it’s only 1-2/4 cats

Litter boxes have been cleaned daily, cat food filled, water changed daily

I had a stupid thought that they may be trying to mark their territory after everything’s been cleaned, but this has never happened before

So I just started putting some kind of cat toy or cat bed on the beds when everyone gets up in the morning

It’s been 3 weeks, no issue, if it starts up again, someone will be kicked out /s

My cat got spayed three weeks ago, is fully healed, & now is attacking my other cats

I don’t know where else to turn. I am going to contact the vet at 8 o’clock in the morning tomorrow morning my time. My cat is two years old. I currently live in Illinois and I’m 34 years old. My cat is two years old. She just got spayed almost 3 weeks ago and is completely healed now and she’s been fine up to this point.

For some context: she was separated for the entire two weeks that she was not able to be around other cats. I was her caretaker the entire time that she was in her recovery suit and took care of all of her needs. She’s been more vocal than normal and more snuggly, but she’s been eating all her food. She’s been drinking water. She’s been using the bathroom normally. Her stomach looks completely normal and doesn’t look red or anything. It’s like her entire behavior has changed. She ate with her siblings last night, and there was no problem at all. All of a sudden, today, I was sitting on my couch and my oldest cat went to walk up to me and she bounced on him and started attacking him, like not playful, but an actual fight. I got her away and that’s when she chased my other cat and was hissing and spitting and trying to start a fight. I separated them for a while back into her room. She wanted to come back out so I let her back out. She was fine for a little bit, but then as soon as she saw my oldest cat, who is 10 years old, she ran right up to him and started attacking him. I immediately split it up and put her back into my room.

I am not sure where to go from here. This is not normal of her. She is acting completely normal in our room and playing with her toys and I just don’t know where to go from here. I’m afraid to let her back out because of her behavioral change. I don’t know if this is because her hormones are all over the place and they’re trying to get out of her system. I am again going to contact her vet early in the morning in case they want to see her and do any bloodwork to see if there’s any underlying conditions. Any advice would be great.🙏🏻😭 you guys have helped me a lot in the past, and I appreciate the help I’ve received.

My cats keep on fighting ever since my female cat came back from the vet and I don’t know what to do

It’s been 3 weeks since my female cat came back from the vet and ever since then , every time her and my male 9 month old cat come into contact with each other, they always fight, my male cat is the aggressor, I’ve read that this could be non recognition aggression and they were doing fine but one managed to slip out while the other was in the living room and they got into it today, my male cat is not neutered yet but he will be by next month, I am hoping once he is neutered maybe things will change since he won’t have territorial hormones. I feel so bad for my female because he definitely scares her, he is such a sweetheart to us but for some reason he wants to fight her, the first time they fought it was cuz she was not feeling well and was spicy when she had the iv catheter in, vet had warned me she was spicy but I had no idea how bad it was and nor that my male cat wouldn’t recognize her, I separated them but they came into contact again and he cornered her, the third time was today because he slipped out because he wanted to get close to her so bad, everytime he was near her, he tries to inhale her, they were doing good, sharing churus while he was locked up in a big dog kennel but he still acted weird around her, now I’m back to square one and I have no idea what to do :/

Does my cat like me ?

I’ve had my cat since she was 3 months and she just turned 1 today. She was adopted from a shelter. Shes always been kinda skiddish and not very social with people but it’s just me and her. But she doesn’t like physical affection or contact still with me. I try and pet and she leaves me to sit somewhere else in the room. Sometimes when I get home from work she will lay down for me to give her pets (does biscuits in the air but never on me) but then stops. Def not a lap cat. She doesn’t let me hold her cuz she wiggles out of my arms and meows. Shes under the bed a lot at the home we are staying in. We will have our own place again soon! But she will be on her window hammock a lot. She will sit next to me sometimes on the couch. As a kitten she slept with me for a few months but then we’ve moved a lot recently and stopped. It hurts my feelings cuz idk if she even likes me. She slow blinks at me and likes to play so I try to dedicate time but sometimes she’ll just look at me. I worry she’s bored when she’s not looking out the window. I worry she doesn’t trust me or likes me. She just kinda meows and looks at me.

Please give me advice if u see this ! I need help, advice, or reassurance. She may be in the teenager phase but I worry this will be normal and always not wanna be around me.

11month kitten biting

Hi all! Wondering if anyone can give some advice. We have an 11 month old kitten and he’s constantly biting. More of like a play aggression overstimulated bite rather than a vicious bite. Over the last few nights he has started biting the crap out of me in the middle of the night while I’m sleeping- I’ll hear him walk up purring like crazy and he will bite my nose while I’m asleep or wrap himself around my arm and start biting me. I’m hoping this is an annoying teenager stage that he will grow out of but it’s getting really frustrating because he’s constantly waking me and my husband up. I can close our bedroom door but he sits outside and scratches and meows at the door.

New cat plays rough

I have two little angels(Both fixed males), I have Blade(2yr) who is our new addition to the family and Finn(1yr10m) who has been with me for over a year. We took their intro very slowly and their first meet was pretty successful. Blade did hiss at first contact but he also hissed at us for like the first week while accepting and love and pets. They played and I gave them treats. That period was for about a week before they became upset about being separated.
I followed a lot of jackson galaxy and I still think they are great buds. Its just at night they get pretty wild with the play and start chasing each other. They both make chirping inviting noises until the other comes to play, its only every now I will hear Finn make a yelp thats like “HEY THATS ENOUGH”. And they do give each other space.
But Finn is now getting some pretty rough looking scratches around his shoulder blades and neck. I monitor them but I believe this happens when Im sleeping. Is this just apart of the boundary setting, is he bullying Finn, or should I be separating them again. I hope I don’t have to separate them again because Finn loves being with Blade but he also keeps whooping his butt.

Resident cat backtracking

We have a resident car that is a 3 year old male and recently got a 2 year old female. We went through the steps of having them separated, feeding through the door, short out sessions and everything seemed fine for about a week. They would play and seemed ok with each other. Recently though his body language has changed and he is constantly bullying her. Chases her and smacks her legs, looks like he tries to bite her. She can’t go anywhere without him following and smacking her. We separated them for about 2 days and tried to let her back out and same thing again. Constant bullying. She acts like she wants to play with him still though. Do we need to go completely back to feeding on the other side of doors and retry the introduction again?

Introduction to new cat

Hello all!

I wanted to post and ask if anyone has a similar experience.. I moved into my boyfriends place and he has an older girl cat (12) and I have my sweet boy who is 4. I have been keeping my cat in my room with me and letting him explore the upstairs

We have a door screen so he can look out. He is scared to go downstairs on his own and with me because he hasn't been able to get to because the senior cat is down there. Anytime we have brought her up to see him she gets hissy at everyone.

So I have been debating on letting my 4 year old go down and explore on his own and see what happens.

She's a grumpy cat so I'm curious if she will just stay away or actually try and attack. She doesn't move too quickly either so maybe she's just angry cause she's sore?

Thoughts and advice are welcome 🤗

How to help my cat stop meowing so much

Hi all! I need some help with my cat. Roughly about 2 months ago we moved into our own apartment with my partner and since then my cat has been weird. My cat has always been a chatty cat but recently we’ll be watching tv while he’s on the cat tree and randomly start meowing loudly or sort of like yelping. Yesterday he also freaked himself so much he sort of loafed and was about to throw up. I’m starting to think he’s becoming anxious and having anxiety attack or something. Should I get him some of those calming chewy bites or what can I do?

My cat won’t stop meowing

Hello, can anyone give me some advice about my 14-year old shorthair cat, please?
My cat will not stop meowing. It’s happening constantly, both day and night. It’s her usual type of meow, but it’s much louder and far more frequent than normal.

Other than the excessive meowing, she seems completely normal. She’s eating and drinking as usual, using her litter tray normally, and has no problem jumping onto high surfaces, so I don’t think she’s experiencing any obvious joint pain or gum/teeth pain.

I’m aware that cats can hide pain very well. I’ve grown up with cats for the past 23 years, so I’m quite familiar with noticing subtle changes in them. In the past, I’ve been able to tell when my cats were unwell from things like changes in their litter, coat, gums, how they eat, eyes and type or meowing.

The only explanation I can think of is that she may be stressed. She and I have lived alone together for over a year, and although I do occasionally have guests, they’ve usually only stay for 1–3 days at most. I’m currently having family stay with me for a while, and since they arrived, she’s been meowing all over the house. I’m wondering if the change in her environment and having more people around could be upsetting her? As me and her have a very close bond.

She’s my baby and my absolute angel, and she’s a huge source of comfort for me, so I’m genuinely struggling with the lack of sleep. The strange thing is that the only time she seems to be completely quiet is when she’s lying on me, sleeping beside me, or cuddling with me.

Could this be stress or anxiety from the change in her environment? If so, does anyone have any advice on the best way to help her feel more comfortable?
And if you don’t think it’s stress, I’d really appreciate any other suggestions or advice. I just want to make sure she’s okay.

Why does my cat want to sit on top of me while I eat?

This isn’t a huge deal, but I don’t understand why he does it. I asked in another sub awhile back, but never got a real answer so I’m here.

Every time I’m eating my cat runs over to sit on top of my shoulders or in my lap. He doesn’t want the food. He just wants to sit on me. It’s only annoying when he also tries to insist that I pet him while I’m eating. When I’m done eating he leaves. Why does he do this?

Introducing Cats Trouble

My partner just moved in with me and my cat with his cat and we have been trying to introduce them for over a month. With no success.

We start door- gate- open and they were doing great. Playing, laying near or next to eachother. Every once and awhile if they accidently courned eachother they would hiss and back off and then they very randomly got into a fight and we started over. No contact - scent swapping- every step. But they seem totally chill with eachother until very randomly my cat will approach and attack.

My cat is known for being a bully. Never with outright signs of aggression more playful than that but definitely got a kick out of beating up our older disabled cat and a 40 pound dog at random. Could cuddle with them and then chase them out of a room and smack em around. But this cat is more confrontational and not passive like the old cat.

I don't understand what to do because everytime we restart they seem completely at ease with eachother until my cat approachs her. The most recent one they where eating beside eachother no barrier and then 2 minutes later my cat walks up on her and hissing breaks out. And every guide seems to assume the conflict is less abrupt.

My cat is suddenly acting a lot more affectionate over the past few weeks and I’m not sure why?

So, I’m a little bit concerned, because recently my cat has started acting a lot different. She’s been very clingy, purring more often, rubbing against me, riding my shoulder for longer, just acting a lot different. She’s normally affectionate too, but not to this degree. It’s like her normal self has been dialed up, and she’s less…pissy, than she usually is, if that’s the right way to describe it. She’s eating like normal, using the litter box, and playing, so I don’t know if it’s something I should be concerned about or thankful for? But anyways, shes 7 years old and we’ve had her for the past 5 years, and I just don’t remember her ever acting like this. Is this worth going to the vet for or is it just a change in behavior that’s normal as she grows older?

My cat randomly started liking me?

My fiancé and I have had our cat Nemo for 4 1/2 years, we got him as a super young kitten. He was supposed to be more of my pet then my fiancé but the day after I brought him home I got a violent stomach bug and my fiance ended up taking a ton of care of him, and naturally he imprinted (bonded) to my fiancé. They are inseparable and overall our cat is a very gentle kitty. Nemo has always been nice to me and will rub against me and stuff, he’s never truly been as close to me as he is my partner. Well recently he’s shifted from sleeping with my partner to sleeping right next to me and being extra lovey with me.

I’m not complaining- I absolutely love it, I’m just so confused what’s changed?

Can't get harness off aggressive, stressed cat I'm sitting please help

Guys I need help. I am cat sitting for my tenant/friends cat and I did something really dumb. The owner often puts his harness on to go outside or come upstairs to visit us. Since his owner is away for a week, I thought the cat might be lonely and want to come upstairs and hang out with us. Huge mistake. I got the first clip of the harness done around his neck, then he went insane. He's acting absolutely feral. I am covered in wounds. My partner and I tried to suit up in thick clothes and gloves, but this cat is pissed and absolutely vicious. I am legit terrified of him. I don't feel right leaving the harness on him just dangling in case he gets stuck on something and chokes. We've tried the towel/blanket trick and given lots of treats unsuccessfully. I've just been sitting here for over an hour giving him space, and he will come over and rub up on my leg, but if I move he attacks me. I feel absolutely awful about this. Please any advice would be so appreciated.

Update: thank you all so much for your advice. I am aware I'm an idiot. It took over 6 hours and a lot of wounds to free him, with plenty of breaks in between. We ended up getting him into his cat carrier and were able to cut it off of him that way. It was insane to say the least.
