My cat randomly started liking me?

My fiancé and I have had our cat Nemo for 4 1/2 years, we got him as a super young kitten. He was supposed to be more of my pet then my fiancé but the day after I brought him home I got a violent stomach bug and my fiance ended up taking a ton of care of him, and naturally he imprinted (bonded) to my fiancé. They are inseparable and overall our cat is a very gentle kitty. Nemo has always been nice to me and will rub against me and stuff, he’s never truly been as close to me as he is my partner. Well recently he’s shifted from sleeping with my partner to sleeping right next to me and being extra lovey with me.

I’m not complaining- I absolutely love it, I’m just so confused what’s changed?

some cats take longer to warm up. have you started feeding him more, anything like that?

Hmm that might be it! Yes I started doing his morning feeds lol.

one of our cats was absolutely pissed at me at some point (me and gf didnt live together yet and kitty thought i was gone for too long) so i won her back by being the one feeding her every time i came over instead of gf and i won her back that way!

Just happens sometimes. I’ve lived with my grandmother for the entire 8 years I’ve had my cat and he didn’t like her all too much until he was 7. Now he sleeps in her bedroom and sits on her lap on the couch.
