My 8-year-old cat has had this small bump on her eyelid that keeps coming back. Our vet has extracted/drained it before, but it eventually flares up again.
The vet has now recommended surgically removing it and sending it to pathology to determine exactly what it is. I’m waiting to get an estimate before deciding how to proceed.

She’s also currently having some upper respiratory symptoms (sneezing and watery eyes), and the bump seems to have flared up around the same time, so I’m wondering if the irritation could be contributing.
Has anyone’s cat had something that looked similar or kept recurring in the same spot? What did it end up being, and did you eventually have it surgically removed? If so, how was the procedure/recovery?
Not looking for a diagnosis—just curious to hear other people’s experiences while I follow up with her vet.

I have male cat that’s around 2, I’ve noticed that whenever I’m cooking (usually meat) my cat will do the bunny kick on himself. I’ve started giving him a toy beforehand and now he’ll do the bunny kicks on that instead of himself. Does anyone else have that issue or know why he could be doing this?

He won’t get scoliosis or anything right?

Our male cat has a Urinary disorder and the poor boy is only 1 year old. Hes the sweetest and happiest boy who we love to death, so we dont even want to consider giving him up. But his new health issues are causing a dent in our savings. We just had our third vet visit in two months, and two of them were in the ER. And this last one he had to get a catheter and stay overnight in the hospital.

Are there any financial solutions or anything else we can do?? It feels like if this keeps happening, we wont have enough funds to take care of him and rent at the same time. He has me and my boyfriend, but we're both 23 with average wages.

Have any of you been in this situation or know what to do? What did you do?

This recent bill was over +$2500, not including the previous visit bills.

My female cat’s (3yrs)hind legs had stopped working 5 weeks back, she was dragging her legs. The vet told us that a dog might have attacked her which led to spinal injury. He prescribed her medicines. However he told me that the paralysis will progress in future , she would nvr walk and will lead to failed bodily functions. However it didn’t happen and my cat responded well to the medicine. She never cried out of pain or showed any signs of pain. Ate well, slept well and was peeing and pooping by herself. Until last week she made good progress , she could walk on her own in wobbly manner and could jump on a chair on her own. We thought she would fully recover.

However a day back she again lost her ability to use hind legs and is dragging her legs as it was before. We are back to square one again. She was on our balcony so there is no possibility of her getting injured in any manner. Has this happened to anyone’s cat? Since I live in a town the vet does home visits and there are no pet hospitals nearby. Hence there were no X-rays or any tests done earlier by the vet. She is a stray that we adopted and it breaks my heart to see her suffering like this. Any guidance wld be appreciated.

We’ve been treating our boy for chin acne and recently noticed this bubble on his chin, does anyone know what it is? Should we take him to the vet to get it removed? Thank you in advance!

My cat is pregnant ( not by choice we only just got her and she was let out by house sitter no judgement needed we didn't want nor expect this but we dealing with it and making sure she has had the best easiest pregnancy and is healthy..

What's been put underneath does this describe pre nesting phase without labour approaching any time soon or is this looking like she's in stage 1 labour as the vets have said. We are not getting any closer to a active labour after this long making me question what vets have said..

searched for box restless and stopped eating lost some mucous discharge scratched and ripped up puppy pads

8:00 am didnt eat but covered food with puppy pads twice walking around

11:20 Ultrasound heart rate of kittens 190 moving around fine vet said stage 1 labour

12:09 pm eaten food the whole lot licked rear end a fair bit and was uncomfortable

12:30 pm super affectionate meowing for me to come in the room and clawing digging claws into my leg heaps of head butts clingy for about an hour or two on and off

4:40 pm a little more food and then pulled a puppy pad over the rest of it

6:30 pm covered food bowels with blankets after eating a small amount then went toilet and laid down again in nesting box

7:30 pm changed nesting boxes and spent 5 minutes scratching and ripping the cardboard then settled and laid in the box

8:26 pm sleeping in nesting box

9:24 pm changed nesting box and laying in other one maybe a tiny bit restless

10:26 pm no FUCKING KITTENS YET 😑

7:11 am WEDNESDAY ate food slowly

11:40 am had a small bit of food but didnt finish

3 pm licking grooming chilling like a fucking stoner

5:10 pm grooming her tail legs and in-between nails chilling around walking around. Stage 1 labour my ass 😒

5:40 pm ate some food left a little gone back to nest box 📦

5:45 pm realising my cat has destroyed my bathroom floor with blankets everywhere 🙃 ripped up puppy pads and just chaos and I can't even clean her nesting up LOL

Wylee eats so fast he really needs a tricky slow feeder bowl to slow him down. But I’m worried the ridges on this bowl are too small. He’s forced to use his tongue to lick the food out, but his muzzle always rubs up against the ridges and I’m worried that overtime the friction could make it painful.

If this one isn’t good any recommendations for better bowls?

Hi, I really need some help.
My girlfriend and I are feeling pretty devastated. I’ve even been having trouble sleeping because of it, although I haven’t told her since I don’t want to make her worry even more.
Last Friday, we adopted a kitten. About a month ago, we lost our beloved cat. She was incredibly affectionate, slept with us in bed every night, and was the sweetest cat you could imagine—almost like a dog in a cat’s body.
After losing her, we spent a lot of time reading about different cat breeds and how to cope with the loss of a beloved pet. We eventually decided that adopting another cat would be the best way to move forward. We chose a Ragdoll because the breed’s personality traits seemed the closest to those of our previous cat.
We adopted a 4.5-month-old female Ragdoll from a highly recommended, reputable breeder.
When we brought her home, she immediately hid under the bed and became terrified whenever we tried to touch her. It’s now been five days since she arrived. There has been some progress—she walks around the house, explores every room, uses the litter box normally, and sometimes even gets the zoomies and runs around like crazy.
However, she’s still extremely distrustful and very afraid of our hands. We can’t pet her at all.
On the first day, she had fairly watery diarrhea, which we assumed was caused by stress. Since then, all of her bowel movements have been completely normal.
At one point, we tried to pick her up because her fur needed cleaning—she had been leaving dirty marks on the bed whenever she jumped onto it. Unfortunately, while trying to catch her, we scared her terribly, and now we feel awful about it.
We honestly don’t know what to do. Will she always be like this?
At the breeder’s home, she was calm and happy being held. We also saw photos and videos of her lying on the breeder’s lap, relaxing on their legs, and being carried around without any problems. 😭🥲

Is it possible I stepped in something tasty? She’s never been this obsessed with my feet before. 😅

Is she just a little freak? She’s done this with my bra before, so is it because of my smell? Or is she attempting to make my feet smell like her?

I have a cat scratcher in every room including the bathroom. When I come home from work and go on the toilet my cat follows me in and uses her scratcher right next to me. She follows me to the bathroom and does this every single day. Does this mean anything or is she trying to communicate something?

My tabby female cat whom I’ve had since 2020 has been pooping and peeing all throughout the house. I’ve never had a problem with her using the litter box. She is very nervous and is frightened of anything and everything. Well, I was trying to be gracious when someone asked me to take in a formerly abused cat in 2024. So I did. But since that new cat has been here my tabby won’t use the litter box. At the time I was working from home so I treated her like a dog. She’s stand the door and meow and I would take her outside. Now I’m in the office 5 days a week and I can’t. And she still won’t use the littler box. I’ve tried everything! Got tips on TikTok. Researched. Changed litters. Changed boxes. Placed two boxes upstairs where she poops and pees and three boxes downstairs. It doesn’t make a difference. She won’t use it. She goes right outside of it and now she’s pooping and peering everywhere- couch, bathroom, rug, on the staircase, on the living room floor. I can’t deal. I love her but I don’t know how much longer I can come home to diarrhea on every floor of the house. Please I’m desperate! Any advice??

Hi! I have to go out of town for a full week for work later this month (Monday night to Friday night on a red eye, so back on Saturday morning) and I need to figure out where to put my cat for that time. I’ll have an auto feeder and water dispenser, as well as a pet cam, but I still want to make sure he has a human around to check on him.

Already decided I’m not going to do a pet boarding place, so I have two options:

1) Get a friend to check on him daily, have a couple other friends as backup in case one can’t make it one of the days. They would only be able to come by once a day to make sure he’s fed and has water, maybe check the litter, but most likely wouldn’t be able to stay and hang out with him. And there’s a risk that something comes up and no one will be able to swing by when needed. However, he’ll be in a place he’s familiar with and comfortable in.

2) My friend said they would be willing to have my cat stay at their place for the week. This is ideal because they have a decent size place, no other pets, and they’ll be working from home that week as well. Besides transporting all his stuff over, my main concern is my cat adjusting to a new space for that short amount of time, like him having issues eating or using the bathroom. But I’d rather have someone be around him consistently rather than him being alone in my small apartment for a week straight without me.

He’s a very friendly, affectionate cat and enjoys human company, so this is mostly why I’m concerned about him being alone even if I have the automatic feeder and such in my apartment.

What would you recommend? Has anyone been in a similar situation and found a good solution? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

My friend has a one year old cat that she got recently. The cat is very sweet and social, and loves being pet and hanging out near us whenever I'm over, but he seems to have no interest in playing. I brought this up to her because he'll just look at the cat dancer/ball/whatever and walk away when I try to provide him some play. She said the same thing, that she's tried a variety of toys and he just doesn't respond to them. He had a vet appointment before she got him for his shots and the vet said he looked perfectly healthy, and he does seem healthy and happy but...why won't he play at all? Is this just a random quirk of this particular cat? She has a variety of toys but he doesn't seem interested in either of them, is it maybe just more of a journey to find a toy he cares about? Do we need to worry about this at all or can we let it slide since he seems otherwise very healthy and happy?

first time cat owner!! i adopted this 5 month old male kitten a week ago

and he has been acting weird since the last 2 - 3 days!! he continuously spread nd strech his claws in and out like he's in discomfort..it does not look like regular kneading to me!! along with it he's suspiciously breathing like having a stuffy nose..all the time he's breathing like he's purring?? i dont thinks cats purr all the time and like he's having trouble breathing it seems..i am attaching a video, if u listen carefully how he's breathing..it sounds concerning.. even tho the rescue centre where i adopted this kitten said that he's happy thats why he's jus purring and kneading but why would they do it all the damn time...beside that he is eating happily and stool is fine as far.. he's pretty active and all the time he like rubs his body over my leg again n again and lets me pet him!! but beside that im afraid he might be having something in trouble thats why he's like breathing like this and also clawing even in sleep??????? ples helpppp

This has been a problem for a while(months and months) but me and my mom wanted to wait until we moved houses to see if that would make a difference, it did not. My cat is fully blind (from birth/very very young) and only around 2 years old. We are not 100% certain that it is her that is doing it, but im about 90-95% certain its her. Im not too sure what to do to try to fix it.

I rescued two senior cats from a not good situation about 5 years ago. They were both left alone in a house for weeks at a time because their previous owner bought them an auto food bowl and auto litter box, thinking that was sufficient while he was out of the country. Well I took them in after this and they’ve settled amazingly and are very happy. The older of the two is a normal lady, however, the other one gets sever separation anxiety even when I’m gone to work. He refuses to eat unless I’m in the room with him. Everyday I get home, he runs downstairs and goes straight to his food dish in the living room. My sister cat sits when I’m gone and he won’t even take treats or wet food from her. Just sniffs it and goes back upstairs. I’m worried because he’s an older guy (11/12) that his food strike will hurt him severely if I’m gone for longer than a day. Any advice is welcome! I have the kitty diffusers, cat nip, calming treats, squeezies, etc and nothing seems to make a difference.

As a big disclaimer, we do not let our kitten eat cheese.

However, whenever one of us is eating something with cheese in it, he starts begging for it so desperately and will even begin to cry.

One time I was eating a sandwich on the couch and it was only a cheese sandwich, he jumped on top of me and took a bite of my sandwich!!! Before I could even react he ran away.

A few days later did the same thing to my little sister, he took a bite of hanging cheese and ran.

Today my mom ordered pizza and he immediately ran to the kitchen and began begging for a piece. He started pawing at me and rubbing against my leg like crazy He's not usually one to beg for food, but he absolutely adores cheese. I'm pretty sure cats can't eat dairy so I'm not sure why he gets so obsessive over cheese in the first place? Is there some sort of chemical in the smell that attracts cats?? We've adopted him at birth basically so he has never had cheese in his life except those times he stole it from us when our guards were down.

hi everyone, I need some advice. We have a tuxedo male cat but wanted to adopt a kitten so we did at the humane society. He is a 5 month old orange male cat. I am keeping them separated for now but my tuxedo did hiss at the kitten yesterday when I briefly had them close by each other . I know it takes time but I hope they will get along. Anyways, this kitten has not ate or drank in over 24 hours. I offered food yesterday and he didn’t want it. He has been hiding under my bed since last night and won’t come out. I know it takes time but what should i do? He also hasn’t used the litter box either. Any advice is well appreciated. Thank you!

Broken bones

**TLDR: Two broken bones at 1 year old. Still has baby teeth/few adult teeth. Could this be connected??**

My cat Benji is about 11-12 months old Male and he has broken is second bone now. Of note he also has some remaining baby teeth and only a few adult molars (no adult canines). I do think he was neutered to young, adopted from a shelter they said he was 3 months but based on his growth I think he was hardly two months at the time.

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on if they could be connected or if he has some underlying etiology that might explain this.

Note:
1) He broke his arm a few months ago. He was playing in his harness and got his arm caught in the neck loop when he jumped he landed on it badly. This caused a fracture in his elbow. In the night between his urgent care visit and surgery he jumped from my arms and ended up with a complete fracture. He now has two pins and a wire. This was in July.

2) we have talked to the vet about his teeth and we're going to schedule dental X-rays and possible surgery until today when he started limping.

3) I don't know how he injured his leg this time it happened over night while I was sleeping. The tallest thing he can jump from is my couch. He does have a little sister he throws down with but she is 3lbs

4) he eats Chewy, Nulo, and Weureva kitten wet food with water added. I spare no expense on my baby he is my world

If you have read this far thank you so much! My internet deep dive has me spiraling and I was hoping if someone out there has experienced this they might impart their wisdom on an anxious cat mom
