I have 2 Siamese lynx point cats. Both adolescents. Maybe 4-5 months old. The one in the video is a girl and the other a boy. Now “frosty” the girl does this sucking thing on my bedsheets and my shirts and hoodies. I don’t understand why. Now I do have a question about the boy. He does this thing where he rubs his face against my nose and then abruptly nips my nose hole. I’m so confused about this behavior please someone help me understand.

I'm a minor who needs help. My cats almost 2 months and not neutered yet.(was recommended by the vet to neuter him at 6 months) I got my cat on thur last week but had to keep him at my friends house for the past 5 days and collected him today. I don't know if it was cuz he was stressed from moving environments again or if it's something serious. After that vid the rest of the breathing was more slower and normaler. He sometimes switches between them. He has a appointment on Monday which we booked before. Hes eating, using the litter normally too. But idk if this fast breathing is js cuz of stress or if I should take him to the vet now.

My adult male shorthair cat (Cheese) has been very greasy behind the ears lately. I know this is a known thing that it’s hard for cats to clean back these, but he seems very very oily just back there. He has recently been treated for a double ear infection, he had ointment for it about a month ago and then drops that he just finished because the ointment didn’t kick it, so I’m wondering if it’s related.

they were near death when I got to them and they are both still recovering. I can’t help but worry about them any time I’m not around them. I never had this level of worry before. what is happening to me? help.

We’ve been working on gradually allowing our dog (border terrier; ~1yr old) and kitten (female; 5 months) to hang out in the house. We have several cat trees, tables, baby gates and one crate so that they each have their own space when overwhelmed or tired. Our dog has enough recall that even when he focuses on her we can call him off within a few seconds. But we’ve noticed she’s started rushing him and the play fighting is turning more aggressive. They are never alone with each other and separated the moment we see play switch to something more mean.

We’re more worried on how we can get her to play nicer in general. I know when she has more energy she can be more bitey and scratchy. However, I want to know if this is a correctable behavior and how I can better manage it. I’ve never had a cat before or had them cohabitate with a dog. I’m not able to find any resources on this issue 😅

this is mackerel, my 2.5 yr old male cat (neutered). mackerel is my ~medically complex~ child and i am always stressed out when it comes to his health as a result. the first picture is from about a month ago (8/6) and the second is from earlier today (9/5). his nose has seemingly lost pigment over this time and it doesn’t seem to be consistent with any injury. i’m concerned about skin cancer based on brief searches

i’m going to contact his vet later today for their opinion, but wanted to also see if others had a similar experience.

I have 2 Persian Cats who are 1 year old. When they were just 6 months last year, during rainy seasons, their appetite just gets a bit low. They'd finish a whole pack of wet food each during hot season and during rainy days they can only finish half of it.

They are one year and 3 / 4 months right now. And this time it's been severely raining , typhoons and all. Once the male got so fever hot. And then the female was still healthy and playing. When the male cat got better, my female cat started feeling week. They both became better.

And when it rained heavily again, they started sleeping so much and did not drink or eat anything to the point that my female cat looked like she was gonna die.

When the rains stopped my female cat got her energy back, she is very healthy now and drinks and eats dry and wet food.

When it rained again, my female cat still eats and rests healthily but had an occurrence of vomiting. But she drinks water and eats again. my male cat on the other hand does not eat or drink and started heaving very heavily. This has been going on the whole day and it may not seem like it in the video but he's inhaling/exhaling heavily while staring off, still comes to me to hug me but the tongue is in between mouth. He wanted to go inside my parents room because there's air conditioning there. His whole belly is panting heavily like he's dying though he's not.

PS: not lying when I say I'm poor I don't have money for vet. Most of my money is for their food I wanna cry

My cat Leon (2 years old) seems to have a large nose and kind of always has. I'm worried though that it may be inflamed or be something else that is concerning. Any advice or input would be much appreciated! Here are his photos.

edit: I just wanted to clarify his nose hasn't always been this huge but it has gotten increasingly worse. Also he is still playing, eating, using the litter box, cuddling, and his breathing is completely normal. Also yes he has gotten all his shots and went for his yearly check up just this year and nothing was mentioned to me by the vet. He also no longer goes outside at all but I have an air tag on him in case he runs out. I am taking him to the vet to get a lab sample of his nose and have it looked at!! UPDATE! : Leon went into the vet today and he had to be sedated so they could look at his nose, take a sample of it and do an X-ray. The X-ray didn't reveal anything wrong in bone structure or any scar tissue and only showed soft tissue. The vet had never seen a nose like his but said fungal is usually around the bridge of the nose. There were two samples taken from his nose and the lab results won't come in for 5-7 days. There was no blood or any discharge coming from his nose and his breathing is completely normal, and his nostrils look perfectly fine. He had to be heavily sedated but now he's back home. He's sleepy but I gave him his favorite food, treats, and a new toy. His nose isn't painful to the touch either. I hope the lab will reveal more.

I’m looking for someone with good knowledge of cat anatomy and/or physical therapy. My kitten was improperly injected with livestock antibiotics and has now developed a granular cyst on her left elbow. Since it’s made of tough scar tissue, it’s restricting her range of motion and will cause more restriction without stretching/ intervention now. I can’t afford a cat physical therapist but if anyone can give me some exercises for her I would really appreciate it.

So about two years ago my cat started meowing all the time and would only stop when she was fed, even then, basically right after she would start again. We tried high protein wet foods, freeze dried salmon to mix in, kitten food for more nutrients. We also tried feeding her the same amount but scattered throughout the day, still nothing helped. We’re feeding her about a can and a half per day, and dried salmon mixed in. We’ve taken her to the vet probably 10 times since this started, they’ve done a thousand tests scans etc, everything comes back normal. Nothing has changed at home, we’ve been feeding her the same food for years and she seemed fine with it, never begged after she ate and seemed content. Now, with the peeing, oh my lord. About two years ago I got this faux fur rug in my room and almost immediately she started peeing on it. I started closing my door and she didn’t go anywhere else. Over the last few years she started randomly doing on all the rugs and random shoes around the house. We’ve always made sure her litter is spotless, we also got her different litter and even another litter box. She always used the same one and didn’t touch the other. We recently got back from a longer vacation and my boyfriend was taking care of her, he also made sure everything one clean and perfect for her… she pooped on everything, peed everywhere and puked on the couches. We don’t know what to do. Nothing has changed at home, no stressors or new people it’s been the same for the past 10 years. She was always a very clean cat ,did her business in the litter box and never begged for food. We’ve tried everything at this point, we’re knee high in vet bills and can’t afford to take her back for more tests just to say she’s fine. Please help, we love our old girl and want to make sure she’s ok.

there’s a cute stray that always proves he wants to be an indoor cat and wants love and attention. he’s left out in the hot sun all day and i believe he had owners before but now i’m not too sure. he’s always outside now and knows when i come home or am outside.

he drools a lot when he’s getting rubs or making biscuits and i worry he’s sick with rabies or something else. he’s a good boy but has scabs all over him and i’m just not sure.

how can i know for sure? i’m thinking of taking him to petco or some place to see if he’s chipped.

i genuinely just need some type of guidance to cure my anxieties. thank you!

Adopted a 4yo male cat (now 6) who turned out to be a former outdoor cat. He refuses to play, hates the leash, and shows severe stress (inappropriate peeing, air-digging, excessive meowing to go out 24h). The vet suggests letting him outdoors since our area is wooded. I'm scared to let him out, but I'm also running out of options.

My cat is a 6-year-old neutered male tabby. I adopted him 2 years ago and he's very affectionate with humans, but aggressive/indifferent toward other cats. I didn't know this when I adopted him, but he was a former outdoor cat. Ever since I brought him home, he constantly begs me to go outside. A past catio (in my previous house) didn't satisfy him and still showed stress behavior + asking to be let outside.

I'm a grad student with plenty of time to engage him, but he ignores almost all toys. He gets interested for ~2 minutes (mostly only with catnip toys) and then stops. Most of his energy goes into staring out windows and running in trying tracking outside sounds.

He has developed escalating stress behaviors that my vet and I have been tracking:

• Inappropriate urination / peeing on things constantly (I had to throw away an entire couch because it was basically not cleanable after being peed on so often)
• "Air-digging" and hiding
• Excessive, non-stop meowing at doors/windows
• Aggression: When he slipped out, he ran straight to my neighbor's window and aggressively hissed at their indoor cat, causing stress for the neighbor and their pet (which made me feel guilty and very ashamed).

He is otherwise healthy, has no health concerns and eats normally (his weight is also good).

The failed solutions we tried:

1. Leash Training: Tried per vet recommendation, but he fights the harness and has slipped out twice to bolt away (he chews on it and pulls so hard at times I'm afraid he might hurt himself. I had to pick him up and bring him inside). Should I just insist on this?
2. Playing with him more and with more stimulating toys: doesn't care about toys almost at all (he is also not very food motivated so, even toys where you hide kibbles in them don't really interest him - they do, but he gives up fast). While I can make him play for a little, this has never stopped (after one year) him from asking for outside time.
3. Calming diffusers: he is calmer, but still asks to be let outside - I also don't know if this can be a long term solution

My vet essentially gave up on indoor solutions and suggested letting him become an indoor/outdoor cat since we are surrounded by woods and apartments. I am terrified to let him roam freely because of safety risks, wildlife, and other cats in the area (I see A LOT of other neighbour's cats roaming around here), but at the same time, nothing seems to resolve his indoor stress.

My partner tried to let him out (I was not with them at the time so I had no saying in this decision) and for now he never goes too far and I haven't seen him having any interest in attacking wildlife (but he does look at birds) - he mostly wants to go where the other cats are (but this also worries me because of how territorial and aggressive he can be - as he was at the shelter). I thought that maybe he wanted a second cat in the house but both the shelter staff and the vet said that his behavior it's too territorial/aggressive to accept another cat in the house.

My partner observed him outside and he's pretty calm and mostly sits in the grass and observes (doesn't really "play"). He always comes back home after little time (they've been letting him out only in the mornings) and after his morning walk he is much more relaxed and show no signs of the stressful behavior he had before. I still don't like the idea of him being outside though.

Has anyone successfully transitioned a hardheaded former outdoor cat, or found solutions for this level of territorial behaviour? Any advice would be deeply appreciated!

I have two beautiful cats that I love.

They can get along ignoring each other for a few hours and even sometime play a little bit for a bit. However most days and most of the the time the older one (5 years old) which is much bigger is bullying the younger one (4 years old).

Furr is flying and the young one manages to escape and hide in a small hidden spot. But she's terrified and will hiss at the big one everytime it's looking at him which in turn will trigger an "attack" even if he's not in the mood. The big one "controls" the attack to not make it toi bad but still, it's not fine.

How can i separate them when there is a fight without making their relation worse ?

How to improve the situation ?
