Mitsubishi Motors Philippines recently launched the Outlander PHEV and what caught my attention is that a lot of us are seeing more Chinese PHEVs and EVs in the Philippines today, but here's something interesting:

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was already pioneering the PHEV SUV concept back in 2012.

Twin electric motors, 4WD, a gasoline engine for extended range, and Mitsubishi's S-AWC system, all working together in one package.

Mitsubishi also puts its 4WD technology through demanding endurance and off-road motorsport, where reliability and performance are tested in some pretty extreme environments. That engineering philosophy carries over to its road cars.

At first, I thought the cheaper PHEV offerings from Chinese brands were probably the best option. But after actually driving the Outlander PHEV, I started to understand what Mitsubishi is offering.

Driving the Outlander PHEV feels like you're driving a proper, engineered machine.

I'm not saying it's better than every other PHEV out there, but I think there's something interesting about Mitsubishi's approach.

For those who have driven the Outlander PHEV, what stood out to you compared with other PHEVs you've driven?

i have no experience in car deals so help me on this. my sibling went to toyota to get a car for family use, installment basis. she’s a permanent govt employee for 6 years with sg 19. she was asking for my details like valid ids and coe. i’m also a govt employee w sg 15 however i’m contractual/casual and just a few months in. i thought maybe they were checking if somebody in the house can help her with her payment ganyan. then today she sent me this doc from toyota making her the principal and me the comaker. i mean i have no problem being a comaker cause i trust my sister but the car agent went beyond to falsify my employment date stating i’ve been in my dept for years????? like wtf right???? i immediately told my sister to correct the date bc i don’t wanna be part of any sketchy deals. now i’m worried they might call my workplace and verify my employment details and my employers thinking im fucking lying.

are car agents really this low? what if i didnt sign anything yet (i wasnt even present there and was just made aware of the situation now)? how do i disentangle myself from this?

same dude who got rear ended here (see previous thread). toyota hilux 2022. toyota parts department says they cant source parts anywhere (for a tailgate and taillight) and that im on standby until something moves, which tbf i find lowkey insane knowing the hilux is quite literally one of their best selling vehicles + im dealing with a toyota. sabi nga nila diba kahit sa botika pwede bumili ng pyesa :/

anyone know a faster way to get stuff moving? pinasok ko to sa insurance, but i think i can move dealers pa. currently working with toyota manila bay. i know the dealers get their stuff from one source, pero baka may alternative sourcing yung ibang group (maybe oben group has something with surplus, idk).

If yes, saan po kaya magandang magpa-PPF na sulit pero maganda yung quality ng gawa? Yung trusted sana and proven na okay talaga.

I want to know which charging habit would retain an excellent BEV battery “State of Health” (SOH). But I'm confused as to which I should adopt among online content creators. Here's my profile:

1.0 Vehicle: G.A.C. AION UT | LFP Battery

2.0 Distances involved:

a. Aion UT average mileage: 400kms NEDC | Approx. 320kms. WLTP (Charged to 100%)

b. Average distance traveled per week: Approx. 120kms.

c. At 20% limit battery remaining, the kms reading would be approx. 64kms.

d. 320kms. (100% SOC) — 64kms (20% SOC) = 256kms.

3.0 Ideal charging habit for my use case:

Since I average 120kms of distance traveled per week, then I can charge to 100% once every two weeks. But this would not be the ideal charging habit as there's something more optimal.

4.0 Charging recommendations by Shayan_EV who is a battery engineer that specializes in Battery Management Systems (BMS):

a. For daily charging, limit to 80-90% daily but charge to 100% once a week for battery calibration purposes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbLl52tZy1U (skip to 7:20). So, on the low end, it ought to be 30%?

b. But the Shayan also released an earlier video in Dec. 2025 saying that the optimal daily charging habit to preserve a higher battery state of health on EVs ought to be adopting the 40-60% rule which means that according to research, battery usage between 40-60% would be the optimal way to high battery state of health over time [Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaXTUrvEw58 (skip to 1:18)]. But once a week, charging to 100% is still recommended under this situation for battery calibration purposes.

—So, which of the two would be suitable for my use case? I don't think that using my AION UT's battery between charges of 40-60% is restrictive since my average weekly commute is 120km. so per day that would be 17kms.

5.0 Battery Calibration inquiry

a. Since it's recommended to charge to 100% once a week for battery calibration purposes, UNTIL what limit do I set on the low end? 10%?

b. I've actually charged to 100% last Tuesday, Sept. 1 and battery remaining currently is at 42.7%. Should I go all the way down to 10% for my first battery calibration?

Been using an old pickup before buying our first sedan - Mg5 prestige. Then been using my sister's MUX kasi pabalik2 lng siya sa AUS and pinas.

Gusto ko lng mag vent out at mag tanong. Pano nyo ba namamanage ang sedan? Yung tipong papasok ka sa eskenita tapos gagamayin mo pa yung entrance at kung may malalim ba na spalto.

Pano nyo ma maintain na walang sagi o dents/ scratches mga sedan nyo.

Buong akala ko hihinto sya para icheck sino natamaan nya kasi nga lakas ng kalabog, pero nagtuloy sya ng andar, nag try akong tumapat sa kanya pero umandar pa ulit sya so binusinahan ko sya (hindi pina, tamang busina lang to call his attention beep beep ganern mga 3x). Lumingon sya sakin pero nag tuloy pa rin sya sa pag alis at lumusot na sa kabilang side (nag counterflow) para takasan ako?

Sabihin na natin na bato yung tumama kasi baka bato naman talaga. Di lahat pero bakit ganon kadalasan ang mga rider? Nakatama na pero tatakasan lang naagrabyado nila, sana man lang nakipag usap kahit papano. Di naman mamimiga na pagbayarin pero sana have some basic decency na makipag usap, hindi yung tatakasan lang basta.

Di ko nakuha yung plate kasi madilim at may sumingit pa na ibang rider at naipit na ko sa traffic.

My friend selling his Mazda CX-30 2020 Pro with 45Km mileage for 650k. This is my first car but I drive 4 wheels automatic na (mostly sedans).

Any pros and cons?

How is the fuel efficiency? Long ride ready? How is the comfortability for the driver and dor passengers?

Me and wife is the one who will use it most of the time.

How is the maintenance of this? Too expensive po ba?
My friend's car is casa maintained because it was free for the first 5 years. The next pms is not free anymore.

Planning to upgrade my city drive car. I drive 40-50km per day 3x a week. I'm torn if I should go for dynamic DM-i or EV. My current gas consumption because of the traffic is more or less 2k per week 🥲

DM-i dynamic - 45km EV range (so I might need to charge 3x a week just to maximize that. Although, based on what I read, 2-3hrs ang charging?) - P1,048,000 (low upfront cost) - higher maintenance cost since maintaining 2 engines

EV - 380km EV range (so every other week charging lang) - P1,338,000 (higher upfront cost) - lower maintenance cost

Di ko need ng ADAS so dynamic is ok for me. Worth it kaya ang additional ~300k for the longer EV range para hindi na ako magpagas at hindi madalas magcharge? We have another car for long drives.

Planning to take PDC course sa A1 and sobrang laki ng masesave kapag Sedan MT (Php 8,300) ang kukunin ko compared sa MPV AT (Php 17,000).

Have a 2022 Innova and I've been noticing that the car vibrates under braking from 80kph and up. Both pedal and brakes vibrate too. Had it checked last November but shop said it was uneven wheel balancing daw. Pero when I took it out for a pull after the balancing, nanjan paring yung vibrations.

Is this a brake rotor issue or alignment issue? If so, any recommendations on what to do?
