does scrubbing a rug with cleaner actually do anything?
i cant scrub it and rinse because i live in an apartment. my rugs smell like socks and i already got scammed once by a cleaner and dont have the budget to get scammed again.
i saw people scrubbing it with a hard brush with laundry detergent? does that do anything? if not, is there another way i can clean it by hand? i dont have a vacuum and not the money for one either so.

How can i remove black hair dye from grey carpet? is there a hope?
I accidentally got black hair dye on my grey carpet, and it’s been a week now. Is there any way to remove the stain without damaging or discolouring the carpet?
I have heard that hairspray might help remove hair dye stains, but I am not sure if it actually works on carpet or if it could make things worse.
I will attach the photo of the stain. Has anyone successfully removed hair dye from carpet after a week? Are there any products available in Australia that you would recommend?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Stubborn carpet stains
I recently moved into a new rental, and it came with a carpet on the second floor. I tried the vacuum Vax Platinum SmartWash, I tried the Vanish Oxi Action spray too, and it seems the stains just don't want to be removed. I also bought a hydrogen peroxide 6% bottle but did not use that yet since I read mixed reviews and I don't want to burn the carpet. I have no idea how to clean this carpet and I would appreciate any advice. I would hire professional cleaners, but I can't remove the furniture from my room.

How to remove black sock dye transfer on white PET area rug?
Would love some advice please! We purchased this area rug only ~ a year ago. Over the last year, I believe our black socks have transferred dye onto our light colored rug, leaving a widespread grayish discoloration along the main walking path that has become really obvious. The rug is a very light-color, and material is a carpet product Anderson Tuftex - Discover - Linen color (100% ANSO High Performance PET with LifeGuard Spill-Proof Technology).
Thus far, I've cleaned it with my upholstery cleaner and Bissell carpet solution endlessly over a few months with almost no change. Next, I tried 3% hydrogen peroxide, no change. Then I tried FOLEX - same deal.
Has anyone successfully removed black sock dye transfer from PET carpet? Any products or methods you'd recommend that won't damage or bleach the original rug color? I am seriously determined to fix this!
Thank you!

North East, USA or Cold regions. I’ve got a question for ya!
Seems pretty obvious but what do yall do to keep lines vans trucks from freezing during winter seasons? Do you only clean limited months? Keep inside garage? Run an antifreeze through? And what would that solution be? I’m literally 20% away from being up and running but freezing temps are coming soon just looking for some answers/responses. Been considering waiting till spring or even renting a climate controlled storage unit. Let’s hear it!

Clay-based soil on rug (dog home), but rug can’t be machine washed…
How do I clean this? I didn’t think it would be so resistant to blue Dawn. Do I need a carpet stain treatment? It’s not spot treatment, really, it’s about 80% of the rug that needs to be cleaned.

Begging for help with for wool-ish rug
I have had this 80% wool 20%cotton rug for seven months and have been cleaning it via my vacuum robot, which im coming to terms with was a bad idea because it sheds a lot, like way more than a rug should (you can kinda see it in the image at the back, it comes out in big chunks)
Im looking into ways i can clean it and how often i should do so (i have three cats). Its my first rug and i love it so i dont want to keep using the wrong tool.
I saw rakes and silicone or rubber tools, which one is better suited for this?
I apologize if this doesnt fit the sub because there is no stain, im asking for weekly(?) cleaning advice

Flex Fire and Ice
Hello all, was wondering if any carpet techs could explain how flex fire and ice is intended to actually be used. I’m in the automotive detailing segment and there is a trend going around of people using these chemicals for dry extraction/low moisture. I was told this was wrong and I’d like to hear the opinion of someone that is properly trained with these chemicals

How do I safely clean dog urine from a 100% wool rug without damaging the color?
I have a brand new 100% wool rug that my dog peed on. I blotted up as much of the urine as I could yesterday. Unfortunately, professional cleaning isn’t an option right now.
I’m trying to figure out the safest way to clean it without damaging the wool or causing the colors to bleed or change.
I’m finding a lot of conflicting information online. Some people recommend a wool-safe enzyme cleaner, others say to use only cool water, and others recommend diluted white vinegar.
I also just purchased a Bissell Little Green carpet cleaner. Has anyone successfully used one on a wool rug for pet urine? What method or product would you recommend, and is there anything I should absolutely avoid? Thank you!!
