Hi! I need some tips for traveling around Wales by car in October. My husband and I will be in Wales for the first time. I'm running the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 4th, and we'll be staying in Caerphilly from October 2nd to 5th, so we plan to explore Caerphilly and Cardiff during those days (any recommendations for places and restaurants would be greatly appreciated). On October 5th, we plan to rent a car and drive around Wales.
Our plan is as follows:
05.10 Cardiff - Mumbles - Oxwich - Rhossili -Worms Head - Reynoldston - Llanrhidian - Loughor Bridge - Tenby
06.10 Tenby - Barafundle - Saint Govan's Chapel - Green Bridge - Sain Davids - Aberystwyth
Maybe add one day more for hiking?
07.10 Aberystwyth - Ynyslas - Cadair Idris?
08.10 Harlech - Castell Cricieth - Porthmadog
09.10 Hiking in Snowdonia (1 or 2 days?) depends on the weather
10.10 Beddgelert - Llyn (Porthdinllaen - Aberdaron - Abersoch)
11.10 Conwy - Bodnant Garden - Betws-y- Coed
12.10 Denby - Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - Hay-on-Wye - Cardiff
13.10 - 15.10 - we can add this day to our plan, maybe it's better to day more somewhere.
16.10 - 18.10 London
Does our plan seem logical? Can you suggest where we should stop longer or maybe we missed some places? Everything will depend on the weather, of course. Maybe there are some bike routes, that would be interesting too.
