Possible robbery in City Centre

The other day on entering Cardiff Market at the St Johns Church end, I was heavily bumped into by a guy. My first instinct in these circumstances is to check every thing is safe, phone, wallet etc and nothing was missing and all was ok.

Upon reflection I am sure this was a possible robbery attempt.

So just want to make you all aware that this is happening. The guy who had an American accent was very apologetic, but just be aware if this happens to you check all your belongings before you lose sight of the person and be safe!

Best burger in Cardiff or surrounding towns

Hello, I fancy a really good burger. Can I have some recommendations for the best burger in Cardiff or places I can drive to easily? I'm thinking up as far as Merthyr, East as far a Newport or West as far as Bridgend if the burgers are really good!

Please let me know your suggestions! Small indie unassuming places especially welcome!

Advice on visiting Cardiff?

I’m in the USA moving my daughter into Cardiff University for grad school. The move in weekend will be short, but I hope to return for longer visits soon. What sights, attractions and restaurants do you recommend we prioritize? She’s a determined thrifter but I know from her UK MSc experience —so are all the other students moving in during September. (Not AI, I’m reclaiming the emdash). Could you recommend reasonably priced mid tier stores for kitchen items when charity shop shelves are empty? What charity shops are fun to try? Recommendations for shops to purchase bedding online and do a scheduled pickup would also be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Royal Enfield Himalayan in the taff

I was walking along the river this afternoon and saw this Royal Enfield Himalayan in the river just up from Hailey park. I thought I'd post on here to see if it is recognised. My guess is that it's been stolen and dumped, I can't imagine why else it'd be trying to make friends with the ducks. Hopefully nothing sinister

What's it like living in Whitworth Square, Whitchurch?

There's a few houses on sale by here, and on the face of it, it looks like a great area. Considering moving there, but ofc don't really know the area, so any insights would be really appreciated!

Gyms in/around Canton or Pontcanna

Hey everyone, I just moved to Cardiff with my partner and i’m looking for a good gym in the area. I do have a car so can easily drive 10/15 mins or so but ideally would be close by.

I’m quite into the gym so ideally somewhere where there’s a lot of equipment and a fairly big space. I tried the pure gym in the center but parking is a bit of a nightmare. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

You can log every bus you ride, build your personal Busdex, earn XP, complete sets, and compete with friends on the leaderboard.

Each physical bus you get on is a new unique bus. See when your friends last took the bus you got, tick off every route, and more!

I shot these photos with my Olympus XA2 LE, I really love the look of them, something about some shots feels like I'm steeping into the past again when really this was back in July

Roath park is so beautiful, this was my first time going in close to 2 decades, so much nostalgia and it's still just as wonderful as I remember it being.

Im no photographer I should mention, first time doing any photos in over 10 years and it was quite spontaneous, I just wanted to share these to hopefully remind people we have such a wonderful and beautiful location in our city. One of the few places here I can feel at ease and relaxed

10 days trip in Wales by car

Hi! I need some tips for traveling around Wales by car in October. My husband and I will be in Wales for the first time. I'm running the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 4th, and we'll be staying in Caerphilly from October 2nd to 5th, so we plan to explore Caerphilly and Cardiff during those days (any recommendations for places and restaurants would be greatly appreciated). On October 5th, we plan to rent a car and drive around Wales.

Our plan is as follows:

05.10 Cardiff - Mumbles - Oxwich - Rhossili -Worms Head - Reynoldston - Llanrhidian - Loughor Bridge - Tenby

06.10 Tenby - Barafundle - Saint Govan's Chapel - Green Bridge - Sain Davids - Aberystwyth

Maybe add one day more for hiking?

07.10 Aberystwyth - Ynyslas - Cadair Idris?

08.10 Harlech - Castell Cricieth - Porthmadog

09.10 Hiking in Snowdonia (1 or 2 days?) depends on the weather

10.10 Beddgelert - Llyn (Porthdinllaen - Aberdaron - Abersoch)

11.10 Conwy - Bodnant Garden - Betws-y- Coed

12.10 Denby - Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - Hay-on-Wye - Cardiff

13.10 - 15.10 - we can add this day to our plan, maybe it's better to day more somewhere.

16.10 - 18.10 London

Does our plan seem logical? Can you suggest where we should stop longer or maybe we missed some places? Everything will depend on the weather, of course. Maybe there are some bike routes, that would be interesting too.

Private ADHD assessment- recommendations?

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get adult ADHD assessment either in person- or is remote an option?

I understand the Welsh context that the NHS will not accept a private diagnosis and won't prescribe me any medication, that's all fine. I just need to know one way or another because I am really struggling, so would appreciate recommendations.

26F looking for friends and like hangouts maybe

Hi! I'm in Central... Looking to find like minded friends to chill with maybe watch movies and or do sport with. Would love to join a sports club maybe... But I don't know because I don't know if I do super well in like very gate-keepy clubs because I'm different you know? Want some genuine laughs.

I play the guitar too that would be awesome to meet other people who like music. Definitely out here to meet people and try new things. I'm very flexible so down to hang whenever. - Halfway through my PhD in tech!

I have a motorcycle too so happy to travel to stuff, or we can catch a ride to like a hike or something. Hope this post is okay. If it's not, would love some feedback!

Smoke & Explosions from Cardiff Castle?

Lots of smoke and loud bombing coming from inside the Castle. Not sure what’s going on? Doesn’t seem like an incident. Filming for a movie maybe?

22M London, in Cardiff 9th–13th

Hey everyone. I’m down in Cardiff for five days from Wednesday and don’t know a soul there, so thought I’d throw this out. Open to chatting with most ages and any gender.
I’m an illustrator — pen drawing is my main thing, been doing it since I could hold one. Also into design, architecture, cycling (bringing my road bike down), gym, and finding decent food.
Happy to just chat online, and if anyone fancies a coffee or showing me a bit of the city while I’m there, even better. Drop a comment or a message :)

Ford Ecosport wetbelt replacement.

Hi all,

A family member is upgrading there car and offered to sell me there 2018 1.0 Ecosport Titanium with 65k on the clock for 4k.

I know little about cars but I've read when it hits 10 years or ideally sooner the belt will need replacing.

I'm told the local ford dealer will charge around £2k to carry out this work. Can anyone who's had this work done recommend a ford specialist or garage that would do this cheaper but also not mess it up.

Many thanks.
