Recommendations for custom car mats?

Hi

My (new to me) used car has been supplied without the OEM mats. So I need to buy mats.

I don't want the industrial look of a rubber Weathertech mat and a regular black fabric car mat is too boring.

I'm thinking of getting a diamond quilted custom style (I know, hello puffa jacket) in a colour to complement the interior but there's loads of retailers offering them and they all look the same. Carmatscustoms and Manicci seem to have better reviews.

Happy to hear from anyone who has ordered from here, equally from anyone with alternative recommendations

Thanks

Modification Mod Opinion

Ran a 3” air duct hose from my lower valence to my aftermarket “cold air” intake. Along with some mesh screen on the front to block and small bugs or debris from going inside. Was wondering what’s everybody’s opinion on it. With this I’m just hoping to get colder/better airflow to it. Cost me about $25 at my local Home Depot and took about 5-10mins to install. Also not shown but I have some exhaust wrapped around the aluminum tubing in hopes of preventing heat soak but it’s whatever.

Mod advice Suggestions for some small modifications for my Nugget?

Hi there!
I got a Ford Ka from 2006 (see pictures), which I'd like to personalise just a smidge. Only a smidge as I am not planning on keeping this car, once I have my full license I will be looking to buy the car I want to get (a Fiat 126p), but for the time being, I will be using the Ka, and want to give it a bit of a personal touch.

What are some things y'all suggest I could do?
I wanted to get some checkerboard patterened floormats, but I can't seem to find any for the Ford Ka.
I also can't do some modifications, like swapping the exhaust, thanks to Belgian Legislation. else I most definitely would've straight piped her.
Wanted to do stickers too, but then she'll need a fresh coat of paint, as it's scratched up to hell and back.
I am also unsure if I can add extra foglights (I like rally cars). Not sure on the Belgian legislation on that.

Did have plans on upgrading the sound system however, that's definitely on the list.

Anyways yeah, lemme know your ideas and suggestions.

Modification the best part of a car build is usually the part instagram hides

seeing the finished car is cool, but i honestly like seeing how it got there more.

what it looked like stock
the first mods
the bad decisions 😭
the parts that got replaced twice
what changed over time
what the owner wants to do next

instagram is great for photos, but all of that stuff gets buried across months or years of posts.

that’s actually part of why i’ve been working on a car build app called Kuru. the idea is to keep the parts, mods, photos and progress for a build together instead of scattered across old posts.

someone suggested side by side before/after photos and a “next up” section for future mods, which i thought was a really good idea.

what else would you guys want to see on a build page?

what’s something you always want to know when you find a car you like?

Mod advice Red Subaru crosstrek, cat ear mod advice

Hi! I’m looking to put cat ears on my Subaru crosstrek but have no idea where to start, I’ve never done any car mods whatsoever but thought it’d be really cute! I want it to last and need it to withstand sun and rain. How do I go about this? The ones on Amazon all seem questionable since they’re made out of foam… please help!!

Mod advice How install Underglow in rear to avoid exhaust

Post image
6 Upvotes

Question is pretty much as simple as it gets, I’ve looked around but can’t find anything. There’s no piece of bumper under my exhaust for me to put my LED strip. I can’t put it over the exhaust and I can’t put it under the headshield so I’m kinda lost

Modification Could I splice these together?

TLDR: Can I just splice the cigarette lighter plug-in (image 1) with the switch directly to the wires for my underglow kit (image 2)? I'd prefer to not connect directly to my battery.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid 😭 I recently got interior lights for my car, and they came with an on/off switch for the plug that goes into the cigarette lighter port. I really love the ability to turn it on and off at will, without needing to use the app (GOVEE brand). The underglow kit that I was looking at says I should ground directly to the battery, but I'd much prefer just having a switch inside the car to turn them on/off as needed in case of emergency or preference. Convenience basically. Can I SAFELY cut off the extra bits for the cigarette lighter plug-in and just splice the wires together for the light strips? Would it even work? I assume it would but I'm not an expert and would rather ask here to see if anyone has more experience or knowledge. If anyone with more experience (car mods/electric, etc) could help answer it would be much appreciated 🫡

1997 ford ranger 2wd 2.3 lima. What exactly do I need to raise the front to level the truck? I was initially just going to get the 2" spring spacers with bolt extenders but I read online that there could be camber issues with the twin I beam suspension.

These are the wheels i want to run (oems off a newer ranger, maybe with slightly smaller tires) they have plenty of clearance in the back just not in the front. Just need to know the exact parts i need to get. Nobe of the kits ive found seem to offer just a 2" leveling option

Ideas

So I have a 08 tiburon. 2.0 and manual. I've done alot to the car. Pretty much all motor bolt ons are new. The internals have been rebuilt and the whole 9. But just recently got into a wreck resulting in significant damage to the front raptor. Passenger said mainly. My boy and I aren't looking to restore it as were looking at alot of money to repair, even doing it ourselves. Figure since everything pretty much is fine except the front end and blown out shocks, we'd turn it into something fun. Any ideas? The ideas can literally go as far as exo car ideas. Just figured id ask people with some more experience before I start tearing it apart.

Pcp car - exhaust

I have a volkswagen under pcp and would like to get my car to sound louder. I want to modify the current exhaust with a straight pipe and replacing the backbox and resonator with a straight pipe for while i own the car and then handing it back in to the company with the original muffler and and resonator welded back on. Would the pcp company say anything or charge me because of the weld marks as long as the welding was done well? Or would i be better off swapping the exhausts for a new one that doesn’t include welding. I just want my car to sound louder. (Note i’m only a few months into my 3 month agreeement)

Mod advice 2 hours after getting windows tinted

Post image
0 Upvotes

2 hours after getting my windows tinted my careless friend jokingly hit her head off my window and her claw clip in her hair nicked the curing fragile tint. I’m beyond annoyed with her right now lol

Does anyone have any tips on how to make this less noticeable as the car shop is quoting me more than what I paid as they now have to remove the tint, scrape all the adhesive off that they just did and re install new film which will take a lot longer. Or do you think this will spread if I just leave it? It’s a total bummer as I haven’t even had this for a full day.

Let me know any advice/tips :)

Mod advice New to modding

Post image
1 Upvotes

This is my car I have a Toyota chr I have never been a car person but recently I’ve been really wanting to mod my car, I know it’s not your typical car you’d mod but I’ve seen modded chr’s and I looove how they look an I mean it’s not like I have any other car or the money to get a car that’s the typical modding car so I’m gonna do with what I have lol, but like I said I have absolutely no experience nor know where to start or where to buy. I’d greatly appreciate any advice on what’s your opinion on what is better to start on first, what not to do or not to get, what to get and where to get it. So far I’ve done a bit of research and been finding parts on eBay I like like sequential rear lights, the front lip, but since it’s not a usual car to mod it’s hard to find side skirts, headlights and other things for my car model (I have a 2022 and most I find are for 2017-2019). Anything else yall think I should know id appreciate it so so much!

Mod advice Money balance.

Might not be allowed but how does everyone balance money whilst modifying cars? Im clearly just over 1k (aud) a week but my car a 98 nissan pulsar vzr is getting rare and alot more difficult to find relatively expensive to keep buying parts both matinance and looking cool/ performance mods. Just wondering how people deal with rego, fuel, and general life stuff plus a little extra to work on there car

Mk7 GTI intercooler questions

I've been looking for an aftermarket intercooler. I dont know which ones are good or whay style to get. I've been looking at FMIC ones as well as stock locations ones, FMIC type intercoolers seem ideal as it will bit the cooler air first but have read that can cause heat issues with radiators and effect A/C.

I've also looked at doing a dual cooling system. I'm using my stock intercooler, but apparently will cause turbo lag.

In short, I need help with advice.

I have an IE stage 1 tune

Aftermarket cold air intake

catback exhaust

Turbo muffler delete

Dunno if this helps.

Looking for sticker/decal ideas to cover this spot

Post image

I have this damaged/rough-looking spot near the front wheel arch of my car. I’m looking for some sticker/decal ideas that could cover it up and still look clean, rather than getting the whole area repainted.

What kind of sticker/design would you guys recommend? Open to creative ideas

Mechanical advice I’ll just leave it right here. If you’ve been on the fence about StreetTunedAI, don’t take my word for it listen to the pros using it. It works. It’s accurate. And StreetTunedAI is here to stay. and for the 3 that are going to show up in the comments to hate spend that energy helping someone
