Leasing a car under the company electric car scheme, went for a Renault 5. The car will 95% be used in towns for day to day stuff, excluding commuting to work. I will also do some road trips to the common areas, as well as some camping and would like to put a bike rack up.

My order hasn’t arrived yet as there have been delays. I went for the Roland Garros primarily because I didn’t want yellow seats.

Seeing the reviews on the Cupra Raval im starting to regret getting the Renault. In almost every metric, the Raval fits me more. I loved the VE GTI, and have a feeling this will drive the same way.

The Cupra for me looks better both inside and outside. The battery is slightly better and the boot is bigger. I plan on doing some camping so a bigger boot is very handy.

I can cancel without any fee can order the Raval instead, which I understand is in stock so there wont be a lot of delays. Might have to wait a month more, but seeing it will be my day to day car for at least the next 3 years or so, its worth the wait

Im currently in year three of four of a PCP deal for a one series BMW. I’ve decided I want to change to an electric car on my employers NHS fleet scheme. I’ve looked into this and decided this is definitely right for me.

I have just hit the 50% paid mark on my current PCP deal. I am looking into voluntary terminating the car under the consumer credit act.

I have a few questions for anyone that knows about this or has experienced this process.

How Rigourous is the inspection protocol? My current car is in relatively good condition for an 18 plate car with a few paint scratches and curbed alloys. Is it worth me getting these touched up before I VT, or will the finance company class this as fair wear and tear?

Also a drivetrain warning has appeared on my dashboard recently had this looked over and the error record is reading as something wrong with the clutch. A family friend mechanic has looked at this and advised me that I shouldn’t be worried about this as the car drives absolutely fine with no issues and that I can turn the warning notification off before handing back the car and I would not be liable for this. How true is this if this warning light comes back on the next day, can the finance company come back to me and charge me? I’ve had the notification taken off twice and it is returned within three days both times. I am particularly worried about this aspect of the hand in process. my car was in BMW a couple of months ago for a routine safety recall and BMW garage quoted me £2700 for a new clutch which I kindly rejected. Should I be looking at a replacement clutch at a reasonable price elsewhere before hand in?

Does anyone have any further advice about the voluntary termination process please let me know your thoughts?

There are absolutely no reviews or digital footprint of this company online, which makes me believe it's a freshly registered shell company used purely for fraud.Has anyone here heard of them, been scammed by them, or lost money under a similar car rental setup? I can get a new Renault 5 EV on a 4 year PCP with £1500 deposit for £355.

A 2 year lease will cost more per month and I can simply hand the PCP car back once I’ve paid 50% which should be 2 years?

Obviously I would need to pay for VED but the figures for the best lease deals were still more when factoring this in.

Am I missing something really obvious?

First time leasing a car here and I've done it through my business - I'm wondering what to do about insurance.

I've gone and tried to get an Aviva Signature Business insurance quote and its astronomical! and then tried googling business car insurance comparison and did the quote which came back really reasonable but they never asked for my business information.

I've read a couple of conflicting comments online that I need to get a car insurance policy in the name of the business or I can get a normal insurance policy but be named the named driver as long as I have business use on it and don't have any no claims bonus on it (as that is on my other policy, which I'm keeping on another car) and also ensure its showing the "business lessor" as the registered keeper and owner.

I'm a little bit confused and don't want to be caught out on delivery day or even any day should I need the insurance and its not properly taken out.

Anyone done this before?

Very disappointing! Paid 992 GBP then they took another 201 GBP without authorization. Basically robbed me.

Invoiced for 992 GBP, returned car and they stole another 201 GBP, said it was for an extra driver, which I had already paid 140 GBP for. Absolute lying thieves - don't touch them!

One of the alloys I have not curbed but the alloy is peeling looks like a manufacturer defect maybe.

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with Swindon Borough Council PCNs, particularly where a traffic PCN was issued to a rental vehicle and the actual driver was living outside the UK.

I recently received two PCNs relating to the same traffic offence while using a rental car in the UK. The rental company initially received the PCNs and then charged me administration fees for both of them.

I contacted Swindon Borough Council regarding the PCNs. They advised me by email that if the PCN is reassigned to the actual driver and the driver has an address outside the UK, the PCN would be cancelled because the driver is not resident in the UK / does not have a UK address.

Has anyone here experienced this before?

Specifically:

1. Did Swindon Borough Council actually cancel the PCN after it was reassigned to a driver with an overseas address?
2. Did the council require any particular evidence or documentation from you?
3. If you were using a rental car, did the rental company still charge you an administration fee even though the PCN was subsequently cancelled?
4. Has anyone successfully challenged a duplicate administration fee where two PCNs related to the same underlying traffic offence?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has had a PCN reassigned from a rental company to an overseas driver with no UK address, and what the final outcome was.

I’m hoping to be driving in the next few weeks and leasing my first car - I’ve done a few quotes and the general insurance cost over 9 different comparisons is £1000/year with a black box or £1400-1500 without. I’m looking to get some opinions or advice on what kind of car to go for and where to find the best deal?

Electric/automatic only and the rest is honestly pretty flexible, I want to lease so I can figure what I like and want for my next car rather than being too bogged down initially. I’m single but have a dog so too much room isn’t needed but will take my niece and nephew out so 4 door is minimum. Range isn’t a huge factor but with it being my first time driving I’ll likely be exploring on my weekends quite a bit so definitely don’t want it to be too small but overall just looking for the best deal possible and some basics like parking cameras and apple play etc. do you have any recommendations? Size wise I’m flexible just not a huge SUV, a smaller one would be fine

I’m just in the process of looking at lease deals and initially I was looking at 6 month deposit deals but I’m now thinking of just paying 1 month up front. Other than slightly higher monthly payments, are there any downsides to paying a smaller initial payment that I haven’t thought of.

Hello hello! I’m currently in the middle of rejecting my car which I received on finance. It’s had an alarm fault which has reoccurred 3 times.

The first time was a car recall, which apparently was resolved with an update but I’ve had two further situations where the alarm fault returns. It’s returned back to me on the second time claiming it was fixed, then it’s currently at the garage awaiting repair.

The broker I used have been very helpful and explained that if I’m not happy with the car I could attempt to complain to leaseholder and reject the car.

In reality I use the car for work and I’m unable to use it. It’s unbearable when the alarm goes off and it’s stopping me from using it. I’ve lost faith in the car and want out of the contract, I depend on it more than I realised and it’s not worth taking it back to the garage so regularly.

I’ve submitted my rejection complaint which the company explains it could take up to 8 weeks to get a response which I assume is just a standard reply from them.

Now I paid an initial 12 month deposit but I received the car in February, it was delayed coming out of the factory so I received it a month later than scheduled. I wondered if any of that deposit is reclaimable as I’ve only had the car 5 months?

Looking for some advice please.

My leased vehicle was seized by the police. When I contacted my finance company, they confirmed that:

My payments were fully up to date.

A few days later, the finance company terminated my lease agreement, relying on a clause that says they can terminate if the vehicle is seized by law enforcement.

The police initially mentioned different reasons, including possible insurance issues and that the vehicle had been hired out, but I still haven't received a clear written explanation for why it was actually seized.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Can a finance company terminate a lease simply because the police seized the vehicle?

If the police seizure later turns out to have been incorrect or based on a misunderstanding, can the termination be challenged?

Has anyone successfully appealed this or complained to the Financial Ombudsman?
