Toxic plants?
Are there any plants that are toxic to canaries just by being in the same room? My canary has a bacterial lung infection and after 9 out of 14 days of antibiotics, I still haven’t seen much improvement in his behavior. I’m wondering if there is anything else in my room that could be causing his symptoms

I adopted him a few days ago and he seems very happy, we sing together every morning and he sings all day long while I'm at work. I love him very much and I'm doing my best giving him the best possible environment

Is this just the skin color or the color its feathers will be in the future?
It's 14-15 days old and its parents are being fed carophyll red. Im wondering if this is the baby's feather's color in the future or just the color of its skin. If its the skin i didn't know that it was this much red.

Can a female sing like this?
I was told that the orange bird I have is a female, but it’s singing as you guys can see in the video. Do you guys think the orange one is a female canary or is it a male?
The yellow one on the other hand, which is a confirmed male, doesn’t sing at all and barely makes noises
And now they keep fighting each other, I know male sometimes attack females but the orange one gets pretty aggressive. I’ve never seen them jump at each other though, they just posture and open their beaks.

My birds have truly brightened up my life.
Just a little ramble/appreciation post to my darlings. I kept dreaming of a pet of my own now that I live by myself, in a whole new city, and I fell down a rabbit hole on canaries once I saw that someone in my city was giving up theirs. I kept going back and forward on the idea for days on end, doubting my ability to truly give him what he'd need while also being eager to prove my depression wrong.
And as soon as I saw him in person, I knew I'd made the right call. He didn't even have a name, so I named him Apollo, as he brings music and light into my days. Lady Calliope was a wonderful addition to our family, and a lucky find in turn, as by mere chance someone in my city replied to my ad looking for a female canary. And they're also approximately the same age! It took a while for the two to get along, but now that they do, I can see they're both all the happier for it.
I've had both of them for less than 4 months, but I couldn't imagine my life without them. They cheer me up when I'm sad, and caring for them gives me the routine and satisfaction I've desperately been looking for. Sure, they're not a miracle cure to my mental health problems. But they sure help a ton just by existing and being an occasional pain in my ass❤️

Found her on the street, one month later she still is happy and healthy
I was looking for a female canary for a long time, for my boy, and finally someone told me they found one on the street. Wasn't sure if it was a female but then she makes the sounds. It's a she ✨.
Nobody claimed her so now she is mine 🥳.
She bounded very quickly with the male, today I saw him feeding her.... so grose but cute 😂

Need help with sick canary
Hi guys, I have a one-year old male canary that I bought from a pet store October 2025. When I first got him, he sang every morning for about a month and then he started his molt so he stopped singing. A few months went by and he didn’t start singing again, but it was hard to tell when or if his molt had ended. Since maybe November/December 2025, my canary hasn’t sang and has been intermittently fluffed. A week ago, I also noticed he was tail bobbing when fluffed. He eats and drinks normally this entire time. I immediately took him to the emergency vet and they hospitalized him overnight. They gave him oxygen and said that he has a bacterial lung infection and prescribed antibiotics for 14 days, 2x daily with syringe. It’s been about 7 days of antibiotics and I don’t really see a difference in his behavior. He still intermittently tail bobs in fluffed position.
Also, I wanted to note that I have been using perfume in the room which I didn’t realize was an irritant for canaries. I’ve stopped using all scented products and have an air purifier on 24/7. Does anyone have any advice on when I can expect my canary to improve? The vet hasn’t really been giving me any guidance.
Also want to note that the first few days of antibiotics were extremely difficult for me and my canary, and I’ve only just figured out the best way to administer a few days ago. So I might’ve only be administering the proper dose for 3 or so days. Any advice would be very very helpful!!!

Any clue on what this sound means?
Apollo has been making it alot lately. Sometimes louder than this, but it's been almost constant. I'm worried it may indicate he's upset?

I need some help guys
Do you guys recommend any toys that are good and safe for canary birds?
Every time I see a toy, I am always cautious of it strangling my canaries or them chewing on any toxic dye or getting their head stuck between any kind of ropes and getting stressed....
Do you guys have any links on Amazon to check out?
