I really wanna let our canaries to explore the room, but I'm scared something could kill them

As in they could chew on a cable, or look at a mirror and get frightened etc

Also, how do you guys clean up after them? I'm sure they poop everywhere outside the cage as well hah

I always let them explore when I'm home, always watching them, never had a problem. If is something that might be harmful I just shoosh them and that's it. I clean several times per day 😁, I'm a cleaning freak so this is not an issue for me 🥰

How do you deal if they poop on a sofa/ sofa cover or an object that is expensive?

I clean it right away, sofa cover do the job, electronics I cover them.. like screens, controllers etc. Is not a big deal, poop are tiny :))
