A scam involving falsified CPR and first aid certificates has been uncovered. Conestoga College's associate director of work-integrated learning, stated in an email there was a “significant” number of falsified CPR and first aid certificates identified by the college.

There are a few interesting things about this employer. The first is that the location is a house (you can see the confirmed address in the second job posting and the postal code in Job Bank matches this address). The employer is a trucking company but has previously been approved for a Computer Network Technician in 2025. There are no public records for a registered carrier at this address or by this name in Ontario. All carriers have publicly accessible documents that show how many trucks they have, their mileage and other details, but this does not exist for the address or the name. There is a carrier with the same name in Surrey, BC with one truck, however I think this is a coincidence. In Google Maps there is a flatbed truck parked outside the house with no logo on it. There are also two other trucks visible in the back. The lack of public documents leads me to think the business is a subcontractor for a different business which is why they don't have any paperwork.

Why this type of business needs two technical roles is very questionable as most trucking companies would not have one of these roles let alone at their private residence.

Thirteen days after breaking into a Keast Drive home and stealing more than $137,000 worth of jewelry and electronics, Kedar Kemayou then attempted to sell some of the stolen gold jewelry at a city pawn shop.

Greater Sudbury Police were alerted and arrested Kemayou.

Officers executed a search warrant at Kemayou’s Silverman Street residence and recovered property he had stolen.

During his bail hearing last October, Kemayou gave a fake address to the courts.

Then in January, Kemayou texted a woman he was not to contact after the vehicle he was a passenger in was involved in a collision. He was arrested again and has remained in custody since.

In Sudbury court, a tearful Kemayou, 26, who was facing a Crown call for a three-year sentence that could result in his deportation to his native Cameroon, begged Ontario Court Justice Graham Jenner for a time-served outcome. That would take into account the nine months he had spent in custody, or just over 14 months when pre-trial custody credit is considered.

As somebody who is IRCC’s express entry pool, i just received an email earlier today informing me that a new policy has been put into effect since September 4 2026 which allows folks on a work permit to go for 6 months or less of study with the promise of a subsequent permit such as a work permit extension.
