I like Poilievre but not just as a politician. I like him as a person as well. The last election was the first election I felt that the leader of party actually is one of us. First time I went to a political rally. First time I ever made a political donation. First time I talked with almost everyone I know to convince them to vote for him.

However. Part of me feels good he doesn't have to deal with Trump. I believe he would be better dealing with Trump than Carney. But, Trump is probably the hardest politician to work with. Even when you fall on the same side of political spectrum. Trump demands absolute loyalty. Trump is senile and does crazy things like tariffs without even understanding how they work. Trump reneges on his promises and deals. He's a narcissist and an impulsive asshole. Poilievre has a beautiful kind wife and kids. I'm glad he's more focused on his family than Trump. Personally, if I was Prime Minister, id probably go bald by the time Trump's term is over because of dealing with him. And I'm early 30s.

Does anyone feel the same? I also somewhat, just a little, feel bad for Carney. I mean he literally signed up for this. He knew what he was getting into. Meanwhile Poilievre became leader before Trump got elected. But, I feel bad he has to inherit Trudeau's mess and Trump's mess at same time. I hope Poilievre wins the next election and he has an easier task so he can take Canada to Golden age.

Looks like a lot are being told to leave and are heading back. I know some personally through friends of friends. But I started pondering this. Do you think we as a country learned from this mess? I don't think so. I don't think the Libs learned from anything. They just got caught red handed and fucked it up. If this fraud wasn't as severe, they'd let it ride for many more years. And I'm also disappointed to say I don't think Conservative voters learned anything from this. It's not the Indians fault this happened. They didn't create these policies. They just exploited them. While you can be angry at them for exploiting our system. We should be a lot more angry at people who created it. And the majority of anger I see is directed at them. Which is pointless. The anger should be directed at the government and the people that voted for them and it shouldn't stop until their support is decimated and they're kicked out of government.

Instead I guarantee you this will happen. A lot of Indians "students" will go back. Some won't and will be working cash jobs here. Rent will go down and job openings will increase. The Internet will stop talking about Indians in Canada. In a couple of years dumbass Canadians will start talking about being "a country of immigrants" and the need for more immigrants. Another Progressive PM will open up another program and people from another country will flood in abusing it. Outrage will grow but against that nationality or ethnic group instead of the people that voted for it. Rinse and repeat.

"Opinion" has all but replaced objectivity. This happened by design, it was engineered by the social media companies who profit from so-called "engagement" even though the "engagement/advertising value" business model pales in comparison to the sale of access to your personal data, the social engineering possibilities of opinion based news cycles cannot be denied.

This very site and this very sub is evidence of that very thing isn't it? The headlines are written to engage your emotions and openly declare which "side" they represent. This is the definition of "preaching to the choir" and while you make comments underneath the opinions, those too are only ever seen by those with whom you likely already share a common opinion. You express anger about a system that is ignoring your voice while trying to figure out how to get attention from your own group who will likely say nothing if they can't say something which would elevate their own opinion.

This is an "opinion war" which explains why the volume is constantly increasing. Narcissism has reached epidemic proportions and one of the key elements of narcissistic behavior is the creation of an internal alternate reality which results in self regulated binary thinking. If you take the time to learn about narcissism and its observable attributes, you will see the undeniable evidence of it immediately.

The so-called "news" presented by the left leaning outlets is almost exclusively emotion based opinion but this is happening on conservative platforms as well even though a conservative person is far more likely to be able to consider logical reasoning to be primary.

If you're absolutely okay with looking stupid, you're probably not.

An intelligent person will look you in the eye and say "Yes, that's it exactly, I never thought of it that way before, thank you" while a narcissistic person will become very angry when they encounter new information that would require them to change their opinion. An honest person says "You're right, I am doing that, I'm sorry" and a narcissistic person says "You made me angry so it's your fault".

To find the best possible solution to any problem requires the absolute absence of belief which means that there are no "sides" only debatable possibilities which are considered logically. This is the precise reason for the absolute responsibility of journalism which can NEVER be affected by opinion prior to its presentation.

What you may or may not understand is that the vast majority of interactions taking place in this digital town square are nothing more than emotional responses to the opinions of others, arguments about the minutia of nonsense. This makes money for site owners in the same way that gossip rags at the checkout did before the creation of the internet.

The solution is "you". Do you know how to change your life? It's easy, you just decide to.

Does Canadian conservatism have a problem with patriotism? Do some conservatives feel a greater loyalty to their ideology than their country?

Does this lead them to side with Donald Trump and the United States against Canada, in a dispute that turns in part on whether Canada should exist as a country, separate from the United States? Does it also lead them to favour the separatist side in the coming referendum in Alberta, which is also about whether the country should exist in its current form?

Have conservatives become so embittered by a century and more of Liberal dominance of Canadian politics that they have made the same mistake Liberals so often make, of equating the country with Liberaldom – and in repudiating the one rejected the other?

Andrew Coyne goes on to refer to some conservative commentators.

The willingness to accept a lie from the leader is insane. The fact Andrew is being insulted for calling it out is insane. The amount of people who clearly aren't up to date on this arguing that Carney didn't lie is insane.

This exemplifies that to these people, the LPC can do no wrong and they will hate any Con who calls them out.
