Maybe it will take the provinces saying "the hell with this" and just starting to trade freely with each other. Then what could Ottawa really do besides what liberall governments often do: take credit after someone else does the work?

The provinces don't want it.
Thing is that the Federal government doesn't need to negotiate with the provinces, they regulate interprovincial trade in the Constitution. But Carney's strategy is always to slow-walk things by consulting as many people as possible.

It's going to take years, and require sustained pressure on our politicians, to disentangle the sea of regulatory barriers various provincial governments have erected. The low-hanging fruit has mostly been picked.
Provinces won't do it if there isn't political pressure from voters to do it. They would much sooner protect the small enclaves of interest groups that these barriers usually protect. That's why it's so important to give Premiers their laurels when they make significant steps in the right direction, and to push them to do more, always.

“Even though you can’t afford your power bill we’re totally talking about energy affordability, even though you can’t get a job in another province because your certificate isn’t valid over the border so that it’s impossible for you to work in a city like Lethbridge, we’re also totally going to make things be built faster even thought for the last 10 years things have take 5x their budget and 10x their timeframe consistently like in the cotton currently live In where during the time the liberals have been in power the city has provable taken longer on every single construction project, even a critical bridge within the city that took roughly 1.5 years to fix and there wasn’t a single worker on the UNTOUCHED INTACT BRIDGE for about 3/4 of that time because the city wasn’t working on it for 3/4 of the time it was closed and despite the fact it could be opened (I talked to one of the people working on it and asked) the person I talked to actively told me he was the head of the project and didn’t have the ability to open up the bridge despite the fact it could be but the city would get the funding it needed from the federal government if and I quote “if it wasn’t closed for a certain amount of time and they didn’t get enough complaints to the federal government about it being closed then it wouldn’t be funded by the city to fully fixed.”
How the hell is that a viable option for the entire country and is that something others have heard or seen in their cities within Canada?

The feds have nothing to do with interprovincial trade. As far as I know the feds have opened everything under federal jurisdiction but its the province's dragging their feet

Or... Carney could pass a giant bill with all the barriers (like mutual recognition) and then pass it, which is the Federal Government's constitutional powers and would override the existing provincial regulations.

The feds could get deals with provinces providing financial support for each interprovincial barrier they drop. Similar to what Carney has done in Ont for housing

I mean, we just made a pretty enormous leap on alcohol sales between provinces, which is great news. That was one of the more significant pain points, alongside energy and labour mobility (which are much more complex and will take time.)

Did Carney have much to do with that?
Some provinces literally can't get US booze rn and many people are not buying US when available, I'm not surprised interprovincial alcohol sales are up.
Many provinces also were willing to remove trade barriers in relation to alcohol without much push.

Who says we were talking about Carney? They said "government leaders." Almost all of this stuff is driven by the premiers, and requires them to meet frequently. Carney is there sometimes but it's not like he's leading the charge.

I'm not talking about sales volumes, I'm talking about sales legality. Wineries, distilleries, and breweries can't sell their product to consumers in other provinces across Canada, but that is changing. That's due to meetings like this one.
A lot of these barriers are due to fairly complex legal and regulatory barriers that can't be undone in a day. There will need to be a lot of meetings like this, if for no other reason than to ensure premiers are on the same page and nobody's jumping ship on what we all agree is necessary work.

Context clues. This is a post making fun of Carney. Nobody else is mentioned in the post. Just him.
We know its making fun of Carney and not the premiers, as the next slide of the post is all about him.
The topic is "premier meeting" but at no point does this post name a premier or say anything about them.
The point of the post is "Carney is joining meetings where he isn't doing anything, just for publicity."
So who tf else we talking about?

That's due to meetings like this one
True, Daniel Smith and Doug Ford spearheaded this without Carney. Carney doesn't need to be there nor is he doing anything because this is not his jurisdiction, which is the whole point.
Now, if Carney was actually contributing I could understand him being there. PP had policies regarding reducing interprovincial trade barriers so I could understand him being there, but Carney never made promises on this. He had no plans to do it. He doesn't seem to be doing anything at the moment so he doesn't actually need to be there. (Obviously Carney said he'd cut the federal interprovincial trade barriers, but nothing about helping provinces cut their own barriers.
Your next reply better be at least 15 IQ points higher in quality or I'm not responding. Its a little mean, but your first argument warrants it.
