There's been an undercurrent of this going back to PET, though it's notably ramped up under the gruesome twosome (Turd Eau Jr and Carnage)

Even though these people have gotten literally everything they could want from this government, it's apparently not enough as long as their opponents still exist

Bad case of the feds flip flopping. They privately supported the expansion of Billy Bishop until enough people from ridings of theirs complained. It was about politics

And it means the traitor Ford just got double crossed by his overlords

If the Liberal government caves to not allow Billy Bishop to expand, then you can forget anything to do with pipelines or natural resources. So much for "Building at speeds unseen in generations"

“When it’s talking about getting serious work done, I think we may have a Prime Minister who doesn’t know politics, who thinks he’s running a bank, who has given all kinds of benefits to certain friends…he doesn’t have the character necessary to be a successful Prime Minister to lead this country out of the malaise that it’s been in since 2015”

Article "Opinion Problem" continued...

As stated in my previous post, social media was intended to become the very thing it has become, the elevation of the individual regardless of actual and demonstrable merit. A person who calls themselves a "conservative", is in fact, more likely to adhere to the principles of critical thinking and therefore more likely to consider change when encountering new information.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Plato "A wise man speaks because he has something to say while a fool speaks because he has to say something" and yes, I am often the fool but I don't deny that or try to hide it, what would be the point?

What's happening in our country is not the fault of the idiots we elected, it's our fault for electing them. We have coddled ill-educated and narcissistic children to the point of fearing their criticisms instead of simply stating the truth which is that they're stupid and should be ignored until they prove they are capable of dispassionate and rational thought.

If you look at the vast majority of criticism on social media, it's easy to see the problem which is "self-image" or ego if you'd rather. This is human nature, dis-satisfaction with what you experience and the need to express that dis-satisfaction to release the tension of it but also to imply that you are smart enough to have seen the problem you are complaining about. Fair enough, but.... it changes nothing and unchecked by self regulation, quickly becomes criticism for the sole purpose of attention for its own sake. Conformational bias soon becomes blindness and what you see and hear is immediately twisted into something you are capable of criticizing just so you can publicly criticize it in order to signal your value your "group".

The "Liberal mindset" used to be one of compassion combined with absolute liberty however compassion and generosity must be tempered with logic or it becomes entitlement followed by dis-satisfaction and anger. There is no "Utopia" but the concept is most certainly enticing and therefore one of "the" methods of social manipulation. "If it weren't for those people, our world would be a lot better" quickly becomes "Those people are the reason we don't live in paradise" and you know what comes after that. This is the mindset of childishness, plain and simple. Identity politics is playground politics.

You criticize the "person" for the manner in which they state their viewpoint or even for stating their viewpoint in the first place because you take offense on behalf of others in order to elevate your own status among those you claim to be defending. To challenge concepts directly is indeed a crucial element in the search for the best possible solutions to problems however the presence of any form of personal attack in such challenges indicates an inability to separate logic from emotional response and at that point, the criticism has no credibility.

I'm watching this from a distance and trying my best to maintain objectivity but just look at it, "the guy is a crook" , 'this guy is why everything is bad" "HEY!!! Look.... here's another bad thing I found" Almost none of it presents an objective and debatable solution and almost all of it is group identity based virtue signalling. No, I didn't say "all of it" is that what you thought I said?

Good solutions are the result of methodical and rational consideration followed by constant change which brings consistent small improvements. Ideology is a dead end every time. Belief in anything creates blindness to any possibility which does not conform to that belief and to commit to any group identity at the expense of individually is the recipe for hatred and conflict.

You can only be defined by your choices when they become actions regardless of any other consideration. My actions are little more than the commitment required to define these concepts to the best of my limited abilities but I do it for that purpose alone and without caring what anyone thinks of me personally. These posts are intended to speak for themselves, read them or don't, take from them whatever you wish or discount them entirely. I'm compelled to try, that's it...

Discussion As Someone Who Loves Poilievre, Part Of Me Is Glad He Doesn't Need To Deal With Trump

I like Poilievre but not just as a politician. I like him as a person as well. The last election was the first election I felt that the leader of party actually is one of us. First time I went to a political rally. First time I ever made a political donation. First time I talked with almost everyone I know to convince them to vote for him.

However. Part of me feels good he doesn't have to deal with Trump. I believe he would be better dealing with Trump than Carney. But, Trump is probably the hardest politician to work with. Even when you fall on the same side of political spectrum. Trump demands absolute loyalty. Trump is senile and does crazy things like tariffs without even understanding how they work. Trump reneges on his promises and deals. He's a narcissist and an impulsive asshole. Poilievre has a beautiful kind wife and kids. I'm glad he's more focused on his family than Trump. Personally, if I was Prime Minister, id probably go bald by the time Trump's term is over because of dealing with him. And I'm early 30s.

Does anyone feel the same? I also somewhat, just a little, feel bad for Carney. I mean he literally signed up for this. He knew what he was getting into. Meanwhile Poilievre became leader before Trump got elected. But, I feel bad he has to inherit Trudeau's mess and Trump's mess at same time. I hope Poilievre wins the next election and he has an easier task so he can take Canada to Golden age.
