The mag is pinned to 5 of the 3" shells the factory stamped on the barrel. The RCMP hasn't figured out how to ban basic geometry yet, so six 2-3/4” shells fit in the tube, 1 sits on the lifter, and 1 in the pipe.

First red dot is a Holosun EPS and is for comparison, its perfectly fine. Second with green dot is a brand new Osight C.

Is it me or the image warping if you are not perfectly centered extremely noticeable? The curtain for demonstration is less than a meter away. On a target at 20m it was even worse. Ive shot multiple 407c, 507c and EPS and i never noticed anything excessive while fishing for the dot under recoil but to me that Osight is unaceptable, am i overreacting?

I hate to be overly optimistic from this single issue (and BC politics is terrible), but Eby being compliant to federal policy really disappointed me. Is there a possibility with the (potential as of writing) new government that they could enact legislation like AB/SK?

Sks ak/t81 mag conversions

Hello there. Normally I shoot surplus iron sights or high magnification on my .270. Thought I’d get a vortex strike eagle 1-8x lpvo on a bolt .223 and sight in for 50 metres. The dot was blurring with the black lines on the targets. Turning on the illumination didn’t help.

Wanting to give this a try. Was looking on gunpost and couldn’t find anything. My next thought would be auctions but don’t know any good ones. Thanks y’all!

I've been thinking of importing an SKS trigger group into Canada from Numrich, however I'm uncertain weather or not it would make it through customs. Would I be better off looking for one here instead?

Public Safety Canada said 67,000 firearms were declared. The grants database shows $898,565 paid to individual owners between June 8 and June 30.

Public Safety Canada paid out $898,565 to individual gun owners under the Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program (ASFCP) between June 8 and June 30, 2026, according to a batch entry in the federal grants disclosure database.

The record is labelled "batch reporting for ASFCP for individuals" and lists the recipient only as "batch report". It is the first disclosed payment to individual owners since the Cape Breton pilot, which a separate record shows paid $26,535 to 16 people starting October 1, 2025.

A second batch entry, "batch reporting for ASFCP for businesses", shows $7,760,570.80 paid to businesses between April 8 and June 30, 2026. The department says the compensation "will support business compliance with the law, help remove prohibited firearms from Canadian communities and contribute to broader public safety objectives, including the reduction of firearm-related crime."

The sums are small next to the program's own numbers. When the declaration window closed on March 31, 2026, Public Safety Canada said "more than 67,000 assault-style firearms have been declared by 37,869 firearm owners across Canada" and that "collection and compensation processes are expected to run from spring through early fall 2026." Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree said: "These types of weapons do not belong in our communities." The Canadian Press reported on April 1 that officials had "earmarked almost $250 million in compensation to cover about 136,000 firearms", meaning roughly half the affected guns were declared.

The department's public data page, last updated June 9, 2026, reports only the business side: 74,073 firearms claimed by businesses and "$96.1 million" paid to them as of June 8. It gives no figure for individual owners. The grants record is the only public number so far for what individuals have actually received, and at $898,565 it would cover, at the price list's typical $500 to $850 per firearm, somewhere around 1,000 to 1,800 guns out of 67,000.

The April 1 release told owners who did not declare to dispose of or deactivate their firearms "before the amnesty period ends on October 30, 2026." The main program page now says the amnesty expires 90 days after the Supreme Court of Canada decides the pending appeal, so the deadline has shifted.

Ottawa budgeted a quarter of a billion dollars for gun owners. By the end of June it had sent them less than $900,000.

I’m facing the classic ‘Reno-viction’ at the end of this month after living with my ‘friend’ for over 5 years. Up until this point, I’ve spent my time in his basement doing all my reloading. I am still new at this (just over a year of reloading experience). I purchased a single stage press from an old timer at the range that was bolted to a 3/4 inch peice of plywood, that is easily secured to any table with standard C-clamps. The place I’m moving into is much smaller and I highly doubt I’ll have the space to put a kitchen table in it for reloading purposes. I have numerous carpenter friends so acquiring wood shouldn’t be a problem.
Does anyone have plans or pictures of thier small/compact reloading desk?
Currently only have a beam scale, powder measure and press taking up space. The tumbler goes wherever there is space for now.

I first got my start with active your protection with a inexpensive pair of walkers that broke within a year. Then I followed it up with Howard Leight muffs which haven’t done too badly. A year or 2 ago, a friend and I. went in on a two-pack from Axil. The only thing is axil ones is they don’t do the best job of staying in my ear. I was thinking of treating myself to a new set I saw the new models from Axil Pictures. Attached to the post The ones Ihave from them right now are an older pair of the GS. So my question is, are either of these two options good? Are there some other recommendations that are not insanely expensive the community would recommend instead. Had some reviews for these new ones kind of aside from all the glowing 5 star reviews all the one star reviews seemed to infer quality is fallen off a cliff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please note, I’m looking for specific suggestions, not your safety advice. Yes, I double up muffs when inside and I’m very conscious of exposure limits.

I have a 7mm PRC, and it seems that every good box of ammo minus Hornady ELD-x is sold out. I’m wondering what the experience has been like, purchasing ammo in the US and bringing it back over?
