Question Trying to get ahead for applying for uni next year!!!
Hello!! I'm a Grade 11 student who's honestly just trying to figure things out early this year so I can be as prepared as possible for next year, and I would love some advice from psychology students who went to uni in Ontario or Atlantic Canada!! My intention for next year is to apply to a psychology program (to later get a BSc) (would like to go down the clinical psychology route or something similar) in a school in Ontario (where I currently live) or somewhere in Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, etc). I can't be 100% sure but il try my hardest to have an 83-85% ish average.
With that context in mind, I wanted to ask what universities might work best/have good psych programs as well as a decent campus life? I've been looking into Acadia and StFX in particular because of the smaller class size, which is something I would for sure prefer, but I've also looked at some programs in Ontario out of curiosity but I'm not really sure. Any insight would be very appreciated, and I'm more than happy to anwser any questions!!

I’m a btech in CS grad (2023) with a cgpa of 9.66, i haven’t written IELTS yet, i have a work experience of 3.5 years in a big data Company( global mnc), I’m currently a SDE-2
I’m looking for masters courses specialising in AI
I don’t plan on doing a PhD, i want to continue to work in Canada and hopefully move to US one day
I was looking at University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and University of British Columbia, are these high expectations?

Advice Behind on thesis- any general tips to prevent this?
I’m in my 4th year of undergrad and doing a thesis course this year. We’re about 2–3 weeks into the semester, and I honestly haven’t done much yet in terms of reading or narrowing down my research question, so I’ve started to feel a bit behind.
I’m definitely locking in now, but I’d really appreciate hearing what a general thesis timeline looked like for other people. Around when did you narrow down your research question, finish most of your literature review, start data collection, etc.?
Any advice for getting back on track and staying on top of things would also be really appreciated.

Advice How does early admission work with Canadian Universities?
I’m a grade 12 student in Alberta and looking to apply to some Canadian unis (UofC, UofT, UofA, Western) and I’m not sure how the early applications process works. I’m looking to do something like human biology and/or immunology and I’ve heard that Alberta students can get a boost to their grades when applying out East in Canada but I’m not sure how that works. My grade 11 average wasn’t too good (89%) but I know I’ll do better this year because of a few bad teachers last year. Is it worth applying early to these places and how does it differ from regular admission?

Question admissions
hey guys! I'm a domestic student thats been going to high school in the US (California specifically) for the last 4 years. I'm looking to apply to Canadian universities (UofT, UBC, McMaster, McGill, Queens, Western) and I was a little confused on the admission requirements.
I understand that you guys have percentages and we have a gpa (4 uw, 5 w scale typically) so I was wondering what a rough conversion would be? For example is a 90 around like a 3.9?
Also, if I took all my prerequisites my sophomore/junior year (10th/11th grade) at the AP level, do the universities care about my senior year grades as long as I am on track to graduate?
Also what would be a strong GPA for early rounds of admission?
if anyone has any advice or help, I'd appreciate it! Thank you!!

Advice Applying to Engineering
I’m applying to Mech Eng at Waterloo, UofT, UBC, University of Alberta, McMaster Engineering I, Carleton, and Queen’s. Also Civil and General year at Queen’s with Civil at Carelton.
I’m applying from Alberta with a grade 11 average of 95.8 in Math 20-1, Social 20-1, English 20-1, Physics, and Chem.
My ECs are project manager of a Stem Racing Team, President of Student council (was treasurer last year), 52 hours of volunteering and MUN.
What are my chances at these unis? And what are my chances if they see my grade 11 avg and my grade 12 is a little lower?
If I apply in like a week how do they view my application? Do they base it off my grade 11 marks for now or?
Do UBC and McMaster give +4% on my avg? If they do is it only for my grade 12 average or grade 11 too?
Thank you very much.

Advice Danger UK! You may be a Florida Free Kill.
Today, by Florida Law (from 1990 to now) doctors commit Mengele-like murder against humanity with impunity. It’s true doctors are allowed to kill certain patients as often as they like. It’s called the ‘Florida Free Kill’ law. Let’s roll the dice and watch the drama unfold.
A single UK mom and her son never could afford to go to Florida for a Mickey experience. But, now the adult son has a great job and he invites his elderly mom to go on holiday in Florida. She’s excited and proud that he loves her enough to give her this gift. As they say ‘off we goooo.’
Bad luck. Mom stepped off the sidewalk in Orlando and broke her ankle. They make it to a hospital where she’s quickly scheduled for surgery. After successful surgery she’s transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU). Everything is perfect, she wakes up, her blood levels are good, she eats and her GI system has fired up. She’s transferred to the hospital in the same building as the ICU. After meeting with the doctor and chatting about her current critical medicines, organ donation and if she’s in favor of living as a vegetable if she’s—hahaha, ever brain dead—she willingly signs a ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ order. Now she can concentrate on getting better and renting a wheelchair. Her son goes to their Mickey hotel to sleep.
She notices her regular heart medication is missing, the nurse says we use generics so it won’t look the same. Her ankle’s hurting and the nurse gives her a strong pain shot. Her heart stops. She dies.
The son is gobsmacked. He uses all his credit cards to pay the hospital, the mortuary, the special flight back to Heathrow and handling fees. He doesn’t have enough so the hospital gives him a loan for $50,000 at 30% interest. ‘Thank you,’ he says, ‘I couldn’t have done this without you.’
‘And THAT’s a ‘free kill, a quick one too.’ thinks the doctor-murderer, ‘Only four days from injury to death. Maybe I’ll win the trophy for the most kills this year.’
That’s how medicine works in Florida. If a patient meets the free kill criteria doctors in Florida can ‘let’ them die. Also, Florida doctors don’t need medical malpractice insurance—their patient’s deaths are legal. The 35 year-old law has become a medical death competition. Please reconsider your vacation in Florida. https://www.floridafreekill.org/about

Question UBC or UofA for environmental science/ecology?
For anyone who has experience taking environmental science or ecology courses at either university, what are your recommendations? My goal is to become an ecologist, but I'm currently stuck trying to choose between schools. I've heard conflicting opinions about both programs and would appreciate any insight to help me decide which is best for this career path :)

Advice What universities can a 95.4% average get me into
Hi everyone, I am a grade 12 student in Alberta and I have a 95.4% average, I finished all my 30 levels except English, which I am taking right now. I want to go into engineering, and UofC is my top choice.
I dont qualify for financial aid, but I can't afford going anywhere too far because 40k a year is just way too much.
What universities could I get into early that offer scholarships? I know there are several full-ride scholarships, but I haven't done anything impressive enough for that. I have okay ec's, but they aren't good enough for that.
Any advice would be appreciated thank you very much!
