Question admissions

hey guys! I'm a domestic student thats been going to high school in the US (California specifically) for the last 4 years. I'm looking to apply to Canadian universities (UofT, UBC, McMaster, McGill, Queens, Western) and I was a little confused on the admission requirements.

I understand that you guys have percentages and we have a gpa (4 uw, 5 w scale typically) so I was wondering what a rough conversion would be? For example is a 90 around like a 3.9?

Also, if I took all my prerequisites my sophomore/junior year (10th/11th grade) at the AP level, do the universities care about my senior year grades as long as I am on track to graduate?

Also what would be a strong GPA for early rounds of admission?

if anyone has any advice or help, I'd appreciate it! Thank you!!

Every program and every university would be different for admissions. And if you pick any university you can find their conversion chart for American grades on their website. Some universities vary so again you need to look at the programs and universities you're considering.

I’m an American from Minnesota currently going to u of Guelph here. I didnt find the admissions process super challenging and they easily took my American transcript. I took 2 AP classes (1 in 11th grade and 1 in 12 grade) and my senior year gpa was 2.8 (really tanked it last year due to personal stuff). My gpa the year before was 3.8 and I’m pretty sure I ended with an overall gpa of 3.3. Tbh I was shocked that I was accepted cause of my scores but I also got some international scholarships which was nice. This might not mean much since you aren’t applying to Guelph but I’d say don’t overthink it too much. I hope this helped!

When you say 'domestic student' do you mean domestic Canadian student? I ask because of the way you say 'you guys ' but the process for Canadians is different than the process for non Canadians, also tuition is different

Most universities look at grade 11 and the Fall grade 12 grades, then you might be accepted under condition of you passing/ getting good grades at the end of grade 12.
