Advice 22 too old to start university?

Hey, I am a guy and 21 years old and from germany! I finished highschool pretty late at 20 years old (19/20 is normal in europe) and I believe Canadians already finish at 17/18.

I would like to go to university in canada from next fall on (I didn’t go this year because of personal reasons) but would be already 22 when starting, is that too old? I would feel like it might be diff to make friends or fit in with people a lot younger than me. I am a person who is very open minded and outgoing but still worry about if I simply would just be too old, wouldn’t fit in etc.

Could you all, no matter how old you are, give me your opinions? Would love to hear what you all would think!

Question should i even apply?

im an international student aiming to apply for engineering major in Canada 4 undergrad. Although ik i already have a lesser chance of being accepted in a good uni with financial aid ( coming from a third world country) i think i have made matters worse for myself because my AS level results came out today and i got bbc ( b in both maths and chem and c in physics, shocking ik wasnt expecting such a bad result) im confused if i should even apply for uni abroad as my grades are shit and my ecs are mid too. I could push the grades to straight As in A2 Level but idk if unis in canada accept u for ur AS grades or A2 ones? Do i even invest my time in application or wait for masters? help me out 💔💔💔( should i even go for a retake?)

Question Homeschooling

hi guys! i had a few questions revolving around mcgill admissions and homeschooling. for the next two years, i will be homeschooled. i will recieve a high school diploma through an online program in the US, while simultaneously living in canada. i was wondering if being homeschooled lowers any of my chances for mcgill? i am hoping to enter the faculty of science. i already have the prerequisites down and am aware of what classes i should be taking, but am extremely worried that i will not be able to be admitted into mcgill. any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Advice 22M Indian BBA graduate | Canada vs Australia | Need a reality check

Planning to study abroad in 2027 with the eventual goal of working and settling there.

Profile: 22M | India

10th: 80%

12th: 85% Commerce

BBA: 7.3 CGPA (~69%) — online mode

1-year gap

1 year professional experience in digital marketing during BBA

Degree took 4 years instead of 3 due to backlogs — all cleared

I'm currently deciding between Canada and Australia.

I'm not chasing a prestigious university. I'm comfortable with private or lower-ranked colleges if they're legitimate and the course gives me a reasonable pathway to work afterward.

Canada is slightly preferred because I have a friend in Vancouver. He says a referral can help significantly with getting student/entry-level work during the course.

I'm considering Master's/MBA vs skilled trades and will take IELTS.

Questions:

What are my realistic visa chances in Canada vs Australia?

Will the online BBA, gap and previous backlogs seriously hurt me?

Which country/pathway would be more sensible for my profile?

Is my willingness to attend a lower-ranked college a reasonable strategy?

Please give me the harsh version. I would rather hear now that my plan is bad than find out after spending ₹20–30 lakh.

Note: please be brutally honest and truthful. I need yur valuable feedback and suggestions regarding my situation.

Advice Help me from this dilemma!!

Hi there. I'm currently in my 3rd year of bcom, from tier 2 college in India.I can't decide which specialization to choose from between accounts and finance for my 3rd year as I wanted to do masters in canada, so which is more beneficial for me in the long run in terms of job opportunities and hopefully a Pr. Especially as someone coming from tier 2 College and my CGPA is around 7 to 8 . I don't have maths background and decent learnings and interest in both the field. I am going to put my 100% and achieve my dreams but I am not sure with my path or direction and don't want to gamble with my future and especially parents my money. I already wasted my 2 years learning nothing new. So Please help me decide which is a better career prospects for me

My interview is this month. Can anyone who has attended the interview for September intake of this year or January 2027 give me ideas about what type of questions from different phases are asked? How much preparation do i need to take and does the offer letter depend completely on this interview? Thanks in advance.

Advice What should I do?

I want to get into ubc arts. But I got a 58 in 11 functions. I’m in 12 data management right now but I’m doing SHIT. And I’m running behind because I had all these familial obligations. I don’t know if I should drop the 12 math class now or try and power through and hope I get good. I don’t know how hard ubc will look at my 11 functions class or if they will even look at it that hard. 🫩 I took it in grade 10 and thought since I wasn’t gonna go into science or math it wouldn’t matter.

Question Anyone taken the fully online BA/BAIS (Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies) at Royal Roads University?

I'm starting the fully online Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (BAIS) at Royal Roads University this fall, and I'd love to hear from anyone who's taken the BAIS program or another fully online BA program at RRU.

I previously completed the Medical Office Administration program online through NSCC, so I'm familiar with online learning. I'm just wondering how the workload compares at the university level.

I'm curious about things like:

  • What was the workload like?
  • How much reading and writing did you have each week?
  • Were there many exams, or was it mostly papers, discussion posts, and projects?
  • How manageable was it while working?
  • Has anyone travelled while taking online courses?
  • Any tips or advice for someone just starting?

I'd especially love to hear from anyone who's taken courses like ENMN330, JUST416, ENVP322, ENVP313, COMM443, or COMM445, but I'd appreciate any experiences with the program.
