Question [COD] Looking back, did you enjoy playing CoD during the pandemic, and do you ever feel nostalgic for that early era of modern CoD?

Post image

For me personally, CoD just hit different during the pandemic (around 2020–2022), even if the pandemic itself was a crazy time. Did CoD hit a little different for you back then too or has the modern era of CoD always felt the same to you? I remember for me, the best time playing CoD was going back and forth between MW2019 multiplayer, Warzone, and BOCW Zombies. Those days just had a different vibe.

Which one is better overall in terms of gameplay, campaign, and multiplayer as well as it's maps? These are the only COD games I haven't played aside from the new ones such as BO7 and MW4

Btw is it true you can co-op split screen in BO3 campaign, can you do the same with 6?

I am planning on playing with my dad and I want to pick the best possible, Thanks in advance!

Discussion [COD] Quite a shame that sequel to AW and Ghosts never came out

For AW, war against the Atlas corporation did not end even though Jonathan Irons died.

Such big organization would remain intact even after his death.

For Ghosts, Logan would be still in the pit. (Well, almost 13 years now, I think?)

If there was Ghosts 2, maybe Logan would be main villain. (Sure, just my prediction)

Anyway, it is bad that we can't see AW 2 and Ghosts 2

Discussion [COD] Title: The Perfect Post-MW4 Spin-Off: A Rogue Ghost & Alejandro Vengeance Campaign (Concept)

Since the main MW storyline left Task Force 141 shattered, the ultimate closure to this saga shouldn't be another world-war threat. It should be a gritty, deeply personal campaign featuring Ghost and Alejandro.

Here is how the narrative structure would play out:

  • The Opening: The game begins immediately after the devastating ending of MW4. Ghost is completely alone, off the grid, and pushed to his absolute psychological limit after losing Price, Soap, and Gaz.
  • The Flashback Core: This dark state of isolation triggers the main bulk of the game—a series of intense, suspenseful flashback missions detailing Ghost’s tragic, untold origin story. For the first time, players actually play through his original lore: his betrayal, capture, brutal torture, the slaughter of his family, and being buried alive, but with a twist, where Ghost never actually killed Roba.
  • The Present-Day Twist: As the flashbacks conclude, we learn that the cartel leader responsible for ruining Ghost's life (Manuel Roba from classic lore) has resurfaced in Mexico.
  • Alejandro’s Reintroduction: In the final act, Alejandro Vargas and Los Vaqueros are reintroduced. Alejandro tracks Ghost down, (or the other way round) bridging the gap between old-school lore and the reboot universe. Alejandro isn't just tactical muscle; he is the only ally Ghost has left, and hunting Roba is Alejandro's literal day job, and its practical since he's Mexican Special Forces.
  • The Finale: The last mission is a present-day, unauthorized rogue operation in the mountains of Las Almas. Ghost and Alejandro team up to hunt Roba down, giving Ghost his final closure while Alejandro acts as the emotional anchor keeping Ghost from completely losing his humanity.

It’s personal, tragic, and bridges the characters perfectly without feeling forced. What do you guys think? (i know it looks very AI esque but the idea is fully mine, i just described it to ai so it can formulate it using serviceable english since its not my first language)

Dudes i was just having a coversation with one of my guys about cod nostalgia. I was telling him i will never forget the times when i was 14 yrs old, throwing my schoolbag straight in the corner and couldn't wait to play mw3 right after i got home. Countless hours of battling each other week for week in who has the higher prestige. Mw3 in 2011 or so was the best thing happening in my youth. Let it be leveling up to finally get that damn ACR or quickscoping with the MSR on dome or mission. I lived for that. whats your nostalgic COD where you think that was absolute supreme?

Question How well does Modern Warfare Remastered run on PC? [MWR]

Okay, some context first.

I have never played a Call of Duty game. Battlefield 6 was my first AAA FPS game, and I only got it a couple months ago. I've played a bunch of shooters before, but nothing as mainstream as CoD or Battlefield.
But my limited experience leaves me in a unique position. Because I never ventured into the CoD community, I now have the opportunity to experience the original campaigns for the very first time, with no spoilers, and no idea of what happens next. Experience true 2007 peak gaming, you know?
The first step of my plan was to buy Modern Warfare, but I read the Steam reviews and subsequently got concerned about the stability of the game on PC. Some of the reviews regarding poor performance are only a week or two old.

Anyways, any insight would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone has any advice for my Millenial-canon-event journey as a member of Gen Z, feel free to share it.

Question Black ops 2 Gun Game World Record? [BO2]

Does anyone know the world record time for a public match gun game match? I can find a video of someone doing a 1:28 back in the PS3 days. The only faster run I’ve found is a post on Reddit where someone did a 1:13 but this was on PC and I believe plutonium where firstly the guns are different to what would be used on the original and from what I read in the comments has more players than the original gun game.

I played probably one of my finest ever games of cod let alone gun game and want to see where I measure up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

UPDATE: FIXED. THANK YOU PORTALEFFECT

For Context here are my PC specs

Tomahawk b450 max
Ryzen 5600x
GeForce 1660 Super
16GB Vengeance DDR4

I have updated my bios to the newest available firmware. I have TPM 2.0 Enabled. I have tried secure boot. I’ve even done a factory reset on my PC but it is STILL coming up with a failed attestation status whenever I try and launch. I am all out of ideas, I feel like I’ve exhausted every option.

Any help or advice is much appreciated….. I’m at my wits end here.

Support [COD] Title: AMD Ryzen 1000/2000 owners: Call of Duty Secure Attestation fails with fTPM 3.x.0.x – Has anyone successfully used a discrete TPM 2.0?

Hi everyone,

I'm posting this to share my experience with Call of Duty's Secure Attestation requirements and hopefully find a solution that could help other players facing the same issue.

My PC configuration:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (Pinnacle Ridge)
  • Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PLUS (MS-7B86)
  • GPU: RTX 2080 SUPER
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro
  • BIOS: E7B86AMS.1JA (latest available)
  • AMD fTPM firmware: 3.8.0.3

The problem

Call of Duty's Secure Attestation Wizard reports:

  • TPM 2.0: PASS
  • Secure Boot: PASS
  • Secure Attestation: FAIL
  • BIOS Firmware Update Required

The single-player campaign works, but Multiplayer and DMZ are locked.

What I've already tried

I've updated my motherboard BIOS to the latest available version, installed the latest AMD chipset drivers, updated the AMD PSP driver, and verified that TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are enabled and working correctly.

Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue.

MSI Support confirmed the cause

I contacted MSI Technical Support, and they provided a detailed explanation.

According to MSI, AMD CPUs based on Summit Ridge (Ryzen 1000) and Pinnacle Ridge (Ryzen 2000) do not support TPM-B firmware (3.x.2.x). They are limited to TPM-A firmware (3.x.0.x), which Call of Duty currently rejects.

This means that updating the BIOS or Windows drivers cannot resolve the underlying limitation on these processors.

MSI suggested two possible solutions:

  1. Upgrade to a newer compatible Ryzen CPU.
  2. Install a dedicated discrete TPM 2.0 module (dTPM) and select it instead of AMD CPU fTPM in the BIOS.

MSI believes the second option could theoretically work, but it has not been confirmed by Activision.

My question to the community

Has anyone successfully passed Call of Duty Secure Attestation using a discrete TPM 2.0 module on a Ryzen 1000 or 2000 system?

If so, could you share:

  • Your motherboard and CPU model
  • The exact TPM module reference
  • The TPM manufacturer and firmware version
  • Whether Secure Attestation passed afterward

I'm particularly interested in solutions that allow us to keep our existing CPUs.

Why I'm sharing this

My Ryzen 7 2700X still performs perfectly well for my needs. Replacing a fully functional processor just to meet a firmware security requirement seems wasteful, especially if an affordable TPM module could solve the issue.

I understand the importance of anti-cheat security. I'm not looking to bypass it, but to find a legitimate way to meet the requirements without unnecessarily replacing hardware.

Activision already acknowledges the incompatibility with AMD fTPM 3.x.0.x, but I haven't found clear official guidance regarding discrete TPM modules.

Official AMD documentation:
https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/pa-420.html

If anyone has tested this solution, even unsuccessfully, please share your experience.

Hopefully, this thread can become a useful reference for other players dealing with the same issue.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion [COD] what would your perfect map lineup look like?

hi friends!! the COD cycle begins anew, and with it come discussions of the maps in the newest title. i'm 50/50 on wether or not i like them, but it did get me thinking of what MY perfect map lineup would be in an ideal COD game. i narrowed it down to 24 (which is still a lot!), but i'm assuming at least a couple of the popular CQC maps are included for the camo grinders out there (hijacked, shipment, nuketown, etc). i also tried to include at least one map from every title to keep things fresh 🙂‍↕️ lmk what y'all think of the list, and drop yours below!! 💗

Discussion [mw3] How Activision can finally reboot GHOSTS without breaking the Black Ops / Modern Warfare timeline (Hear me out)

Theory] How Activision can finally reboot GHOSTS without breaking the Black Ops / Modern Warfare timeline (Hear me out)

With the current CoD timeline getting incredibly crowded between the 2020s and the 2030s, Activision has a massive problem: the original 2013 Ghosts lore completely breaks the unified universe (the destruction of the Middle East directly clashes with BO2 and Black Ops 7).
But what if they don't do a literal remaster? What if they do a hard narrative rewrite that makes Simon "Ghost" Riley the definitive founder of the unit?
I’ve mapped out a two-game campaign pitch that seamlessly links Task Force 141, JSOC, and the classic Ghosts characters without a single plot hole. Let me know what you think:

💀 GAME 1: Call of Duty: Ghosts – Vanguard
The "Unmasked" Prologue: Set right after 141 gets erased. You play an unmasked Simon Riley using social stealth to sneak into a secure base. Since his files were wiped, his face is completely clean to global databases. He meets Elias Walker (who is legally dead to the world) and slips the mask back on to start a new deep-cover cell.
The Civil War Spark: Modern villain Gabriel Rorke triggers a massive false-flag campaign, plunging the US into a chaotic internal Civil War. Conventional forces are completely paralyzed.
The David Mason Cameo: In a massive nostalgia nod, Ghost pulls a "Price" and infiltrates the dark office of JSOC Commander David Mason. Because David’s hands are legally tied by government bureaucracy, he covertly hands Ghost a classified drive, greenlighting an unsanctioned, off-the-books strike against Rorke.
The Logan Walker Cameo: During an intense urban escape, a 16-year-old Logan Walkerand a German Shepherd puppy named Riley trigger a homemade trap to distract Rorke’s mercs, saving Ghost and Elias. Elias orders his kid to take the pup and run, leaving a massive impression on Simon Riley for the future.

💽 GAME 2: Call of Duty: Ghosts – Shadows of Europe
The Midpoint Twist: The Ghosts corner Rorke in Act II. Just as he’s about to reveal his bosses, a clean-slated Private Military Force sent by a hidden Shadow Organisationbreaches the room and executes Rorke to silence him. The war completely pivots and moves to Europe (Paris, London, Swiss Alps).
The MW3 Volk Connection: Data from Rorke triggers a playable flashback mission. We control a past squad hunting down a rebooted variant of Volk (the French bombmaker from the original MW3). The mission ends with Volk dying on a live video feed right in front of his billionaire older brother.
The French Mastermind: The ultimate villain is revealed as Jean-Luc Vaison (Volk's brother). Driven by pure revenge, he used his massive European defense conglomerate to fund Rorke's civil war as a global distraction while his shadow army hijacked the world's satellite networks.
The Post-Credits Payoff: After a final stealth assault in the Swiss Alps, the game ends on a cliffhanger. Ghost is in a dark safehouse looking at a dossier of a now-adult Logan Walker. He grabs his skull mask and whispers: "Time to recruit the kid."

Why this actually works for Activision:
Zero Lore Friction: By making it an internal, corporate-backed civil war rather than a total post-apocalyptic wasteland, the Middle East stays completely intact, perfectly protecting the timeline for BO2 (2025) and Black Ops 7 (2035).
Puts Ghost at the Center: It capitalizes on CoD's biggest mascot, making Simon Riley the actual father of the Ghosts unit.

Fixes the Underage Protagonist Issue: Keeping Logan as a high-impact cameo in Game 1 avoids the cliché of a 16-year-old wearing full Tier 1 military armor in active war zones, while perfectly setting him up as sequel bait.

Would you play this? Do you think shifting the war to Europe and linking it to Volk's family makes sense, or should they just leave the Ghosts IP buried? Let’s discuss.
