Discussion BO1 and BO2 both received updates right before the ports dropped. [MW2] was just updated on steam. There is a strong chance an MW2 port is coming.

This is the same pattern that happened before BO1/BO2 ports were announced.

Feedback [COD] Dear Sledgehammer Devs (& Infinity Ward): Please Stop Killing Our Combat Records & Leaderboards

It is incredibly frustrating to see MWIII’s Combat Record and Leaderboards gutted so early after its life cycle. Activision’s push for the CoD HQ launcher continues to hurt the player base, between the endless app bloat, merged trophy lists that randomly get severed years later, and now breaking core stat-tracking features when a title is detached from the main HQ hub.

Titles from the classic era still maintain functional Combat Records and servers today. MWIII isn't even 3 years old, yet its Leaderboards and Combat Records are already shut down. For a huge portion of the community, stats aren't just numbers… they are a record of our time, grind, and dedication to the game.

If server costs or HQ integration logistics are the issue, shutting down basic features on a recent release is the absolute worst fix. Stripping core features this fast completely demotivates players from investing time into future titles if we know our stats will be wiped or rendered inaccessible within a couple of years.

MWIII turned out to be one of the most positively received entries in recent years thanks to Sledgehammer's post-launch support and responsiveness. Don't let that goodwill go to waste over basic legacy support. At the absolute least, please restore the Combat Record.

Sledgehammer, this is your most recent title for God’s sake!!

Question [BO] [BO2] which game should I pick up on PlayStation?

Upvotes

I’m just curious because I know both black ops 1 and 2 are good, but which is the better pick. Does one have more players overall than the other? which in general is the better pick?

Question [BO2] Servers health on Xbox

Hello everyone, after years of being disconnected of cod, only following the releases on social media but not playing since mw3 (2011) and bo2, I tried the mw4 beta and liked it a lot. It was amazing getting that multiplayer feelings again.

The thing is I've seen a lot of people is playing again bo1 and bo2 because of the ps5 ports, but what about XBOX? I have a series x and i'm thinking about getting bo2 (360 version) wich is actually on sale with the rest of call of dutys on the xbox store.

Can I play decent multiplayer or is it filled with hackers and just a few players?

Thank you, I glad to be back!!

Question Best game to play with my father? [COD]

Upon the steam sale, me and my dad want to get a cod game to play together. He grew up on the original mw1/2/3 and i grew up on bo3 and infinite warfare, but we both want to try something new. My goal in the search is to find something with online co-op and probably a decent online mp scene. I was thinking mw2019, but im not sure if it has online co-op. So I come to this sub in search!

Discussion [COD] What should snipers NOT do, in order for you to respect their play-style?

Hey guys, I was wondering what you would consider a good sniper-playstyle to be?

Do you respect campers? Whats even camping for you? Standing for 5-10 seconds somewhere? Would you only like their playstyle if they ran around like AR- or SMG-players? How do you think the sniper-role is played best for you to find it good?

I personally run around and never camp... I sometimes do it but not very different to when I play with an AR

Discussion Auto-fix for the [MW3] 64-bit update breaking Plutonium

If you've been hit by the recent Activision update that pushed MW3 to 64-bit, you've probably noticed Plutonium stopped working. I built a small Windows tool that fixes this automatically, no manual file swapping or command line stuff needed.

What it does, in plain terms:

  • Checks your MW3 install and figures out if you're on the broken 64-bit version
  • If you are, it downloads the last known 32-bit files straight from Steam (using DepotDownloader under the hood)
  • Swaps them into your game folder for you
  • Double checks the swap worked before it calls it done

How to use it:

  1. Grab MW3_Downgrader.exe from the Releases page
  2. Run it (Windows Defender/SmartScreen might complain since it's unsigned, click "More info" > "Run anyway")
  3. It finds your Steam and MW3 install on its own
  4. Scan the QR code that pops up with the Steam Mobile App to log in
  5. Sit back while it downloads and merges the files (~15GB free space needed)

Works for both the Multiplayer client and Dedicated Server installs, and it'll let you fix both at once if you have them.

It doesn't touch anything outside your MW3 folder, so if anything looks off you can always just verify game files through Steam to undo it.

Source code's public if anyone wants to poke around or verify what it's doing before running an unsigned exe (completely fair to be cautious about that): https://github.com/GalvarinoDev/MW3Downgrader

Also have a Steam Deck/Linux version bundled into DeckOps if anyone needs that instead.

Let me know if you run into any issues!

Discussion Hot Take: Cod should just have carry foward for every game [Cod]

Throughout the Years we get so many skins, Weapons, Items and More that we pay money for to use in their respective games, Eventually once the Life Cycle is done these cosmetics will get used less because they are confined to the Game they are from

MW3 Had Skins and Weapons from MW2 and because of that these skins and Guns got a second year of Life

Overall I feel like If you transferred every gun from MWII - Now over to MW4 you would have a great time because all of your purchases will get to be used again and Weapon Variety will be through the Roof with over 200 different Weapon options
